After a day of hiking, relax on the back porch overlooking Skeenah Creek. Although the cabin has only a flushable camp toilet, guests have 24/7 access to the full and half bathrooms (shared) in the main house (located up 32 steps from the cabin). Feel free to use the outdoor kitchen, complete with gas grill, grilling utensils, and a table for al fresco dining. End your evening with a lovely fire in the fire pit beside the creek. I provide the gas for the grill, as well as firewood for the fire pit.More

Interaction with guests
We live here full time and will have as little interaction or as much interaction as our guests desire. We are both retired from public education, and providing a lovely place for guests has been a long-held dream of ours. We are here for you, but will leave you alone if that is what you desire!

About the neighborhood
We are off the beaten path at an elevation of 2200 feet, but on a county maintained road, so access is easy - no dirt or gravel roads here! We are also on a main electric line, so even with 12 inches of snow on the ground, we've never lost power! The following attractions/activities are close by: Meeks Park Canoe and Kayak launch in Blairsville (15 minute drive) Toccoa River Swinging Bridge (30 minutes including the drive and short walk to the bridge) Aska Recreation Area, including tube rental (20 minute drive) Toccoa Riverside Restaurant (20 minute drive) Lake Blue Ridge (25 minutes) Lake Nottely (20 minutes) Harrah's Cherokee Casino at River Valley (45 minutes) Woody Gap School (30 minutes) Two Wheel Motorcycle Campground (30 minutes) Br
Getting around
Once you're here, you have easy access to Blue Ridge (20 minutes), Blairsville (15 minutes), for shopping and restaurants. Hiawassee, Murphy, NC, as well as Ducktown and Copperhill, TN are all about a 40 minute drive. We do not have many options for public or mass transportation up here, so a car is a must. My property has all level access, so no dirt roads, or steep mountain driveways. No 4 wheel drive needed!
