1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 2
Tampa, Florida
This hidden gem which rents as a short term rental only (maximum stay 21 nights) is like your own personal dollhouse, the cottage is nestled under an old growth Canfor canopy with an adorable, welcoming front porch perfect for watching the world go by.

In 2010, the cottage underwent major renovations, transforming it into a tranquil and cozy place to relax and unwind. From the minute you step inside the front door, you won’t stop “oohing” and “ahhing” over all the arts and crafts touches.

Head into the bead board living room for some down time, where you can kick back on the couch in front of the TV. The cottage’s DVD collection rivals a video rental store, catering to all movie night tastes! If you prefer quieter entertainment, curl up in the leather chair with a good book or one of the many American Bungalow magazines found around the...

Reviewed October 31, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Staying in a restored 1923 cottage was fun. Everything seemed to be authentic to the time period with the exception of tv, a/c, microwave which we were grateful to have. The owner's attention to this era is spot on. The owner meticulously stocked the retreat with everything imaginable in the pantry and medicine chest. He was always available to answer...

Management response:

Sonja and Larry many thanks for taking the time to review your stay. It's also nice when guests come from a community I know first hand. I know I surprised you by talking about the Pimento Burger at "the Cottage" in Bluffton, SC. Your review is doubly appreciated given the number of town homes you had prior to your full...

My wife and I enjoyed our week at this unique cottage with lots of charm and history. It's very clean and up to date with all the basic essentials needed, even exceeded what some hotels provide. The owner Henry was very knowledgeable and his recommendations on dining and recreation was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will visit again...

Management response:

I launched Erehwon Retreat with a core philosophy - that there are no strangers in this world, only people I have not met. I'm still excited to meet someone unfamiliar and make them feel at home in Tampa. ErehwonRetreats guests range in age from 44-75, Adrian and his wife much younger and it was thrilling to see their eager interest...

Reviewed March 20, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We rented the cottage for a week's getaway in February, 2016. The cottage is small but very adequate for 2 people, with so many extras that make you feel so welcome and comfortable. Henry welcomed us as we arrived and helped us move in. He is delightful and so knowledgeable about the area, which helped us decide what adventures we...

Management response:

Thanks Ann. Now that I am writing in April I am hoping warmer weather is emerging. Let me know when all the changes you two are planning begin to come into effect. Best, Henry

About the neighborhood
Erehwon Retreat is a short term rental (maximum stay 14 nights first time visitors, 21 nights return visitors) located in the middle of a national, state and locally designated historic district - Old Seminole Heights. We have a lovely park within two blocks of Erehwon with great local owner restaurants within 1-5 blocks of the cottage. We offer off street parking as a means of assuring our neighbors that new cars they are seeing in the neighborhood are guest of the retreat. We do not exceed Occupancy, Fire and Historic District Density, so the cottage sleeps two in one queen sized bed.
