Horror: Haus war leider besetzt von portugiesischen Tausendfüßlern
Eigentlich wollten wir diesen September 2 Wochen Urlaub im Old House verbringen. Nach 3 1/2 Tagen sind wir aber wieder ausgezogen, weil das Haus voll mit Würmern war. Nach genauer Internet- Recherche vor Ort vermuten wir, es waren portugiesische Tausendfüssler. Laut dem Vermieter- Unternehmen scheinen diese auf Lefkada mit den ersten Herbstregen zu kommen . Wir können bestätigen, dass sie zu der Zeit auf der Insel waren, dadurch dass das Old House aber zwar renoviert, aber trotzdem "old" ist; kurzum es überall Ritzen und Löcher hat, haben sie sich wohl überall im Haus eingesiedelt und vermehrt. Wir vermuten das, weil die Tierchen in den unterschiedlichen Größen im Haus rumgekrochen sind. Unsere Bilder zeigen dies. Eine Säuberungsaktion der Vermieters hatte überhaupt nichts gebracht, die Würmer kamen in Scharen zurück. Nachdem wir sie dann sogar im Bett und in der Küche und und und einfach überall hatten, sind wir wieder aus dem Haus ausgezogen. Zwei Mitarbeiter der Vermieterorganisation waren zwar sehr bemüht, aber sorry, bei dem Preis tut man sich das doch wirklich nicht an. Wir sind der Meinung, dass das Objekt leider in einem mittlerweile schlecht gepflegten Zustand ist, was sehr Schade ist, da es wunderschön und ruhig liegt. Leider ist es aber mittlerweile -auch nach einer "preisgekrönten" Renovierung etwas in die Jahre gekommen und "old" heißt halt leider auch, dass die Wände in den Ecken etwas feucht sind. Wirklich Jammerschade drum. Dass man die Tierchen aus dem Haus draußen halten kann, hat uns die Unterkunft gezeigt, die wir danach gefunden hatten. insofern darf man die Schuld, so wie es der Vermieter getan hat, nicht auf die Tierchen schieben. Zusätzlich geärgert hat uns, dass wir das Guesthouse nicht benutzen dürften, was man uns vorher nicht gesagt hat. Und: Die 3 Nächte die wir da waren, mussten wir zudem voll bezahlen. Und da meinen wir: 80 € pro Nase für das, dass wir gefühlt den halben Tag damit verbracht hatten Würmer aus dem Haus zu bugsieren nd nachts schon davon geträumt hatten ist einfach zu viel und kein kundenorientiertes Verhalten. Kurzum: Tun Sie sichs nicht an, auch wenn das Objekt oberflächlich toll aussieht.

Any review is welcome as long as it is well-intentioned. We are sorry to hear that your expectations were not satisfied with our house.
On the period that you stayed in Lefkada there were 2 rainy days that in the mountainous area of
Lefkada sometimes causes these harmless worms to reveal in rural places with natural surroundings so we fixed this issue with ecological ways.
The owners (who are both architects) have maintained the authentic and traditional character of the Lefkadian stone houses and that is proved by all the satisfied guests who have stayed in the house and the excellent reviews from reliable sites such us "The Guardian"
Also we have already informed you that the Guest House is offered only when the guests are more than
6 persons (as you can clearly see on our site description), so we are surprised reading your review.
The next time you will be travelling, please try to find an accommodation that fits more to your true needs.

Utterly peaceful, beautiful rural getaway
We made a great choice with this airy, charming, old-fashioned villa in the hills above Lefkada town, with a view across the valley below. It's beautifully decorated and kept up, and the pool was pristine and well maintained. It was a great place to unwind and only a couple minutes' drive from the lovely village of Karya, with excellent tavernas in its central square shaded by old plane trees. The nearest beach is a must-visit: Agios Nikitas on the west coast, about a ten- or 15-minute drive. If you want to be in the hustle and bustle of the east coast right by the beach, this isn't the place to go; but for a quiet getaway near a less-visited village it was absolutely divine. I hope to return one day!

Cozy for the perfect holiday
Large courtyard with a nice pool and the best panorama. Lovely renovated with attention to details. Nice stone and wood structure. Large and cool livingroom at the ground floor, three bedrooms upstairs.

About the neighborhood
Pigadissani is a traditional old village named so after the many water wells and basins (in greek: "Pigadi") once in the area, located on the central hilltops of Lefkada. It is surrounded of fields, cypress forests and olive groves and is home of trails for walking across a wonderful countryside with desert old monasteries, as Aghios Ioannis Theologos & Kokkini Eklissia.
Karya is a beautiful village in the center of the island, just 1 km away from Pigadissani and the villa. Is famous for the colourful hand woven carpets & precious embroideries as well as for the very good climate during the hot months of July and August. Enjoy a nice meal at the taverns in the main square covered by the thick shadow of superb sycamore trees.
