Ormond-by-the-Sea is located just north of World Famous Daytona Beach, northeast of Orlando and south of historic St. Augustine.
While Daytona is the home of the famous Daytona International Speedway and the drive-on beaches, there are so many other fun things to do in our area. There are water parks, an adventure zip-line course, golf courses, museums, movie theaters, and unlimited opportunities for fun in this tourist generated hot spot.
Head West on I-4 to go to the Orlando theme parks for a day if you wish to enjoy the excitement of Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World and others. But come home to the cottage in the evening and wake up with the quiet solitude of the beach outside.
For a quieter time, head north to the quaint town of Flagler Beach and then go on to Marineland. Marineland of Florida, one of Florida's first marine mammal parks, is billed as 'the world's first oceanarium'. Marineland functions as an entertainment and swim-with-the-dolphins facility.
Restaurants, shopping and groceries are all located within walking distance from the cottage but seem miles away from the quiet cul-de-sac on the ocean.

Please review lease agreement. Tenant must be over the age of 25 and staying at the premises. Guests must follow homeowner's association & general good neighbor rules. Any behavior which results in a police call shall constitute a breach of peace and shall result in the immediate termination of this Lease, including any applicable charges necessary. Tenant agrees that occupancy limit is 4 guests.
My family and I have stayed here three times and we enjoy it more and more with every stay. The house is comfortable, clean, and well-appointed and the hosts are so kind. You could not ask for a better location. We will be back next year!!!

My favorite home away from home!
I was introduced to this little spot sometime in 2021 and had to book it for a second time! It's the perfect distance from stores, restaurants, and the beach. (Beach is literally a 30 second walk from the door).
It is a quiet place with friendly neighbors that are very knowledgeable of the area. You can almost always find someone to give you details on local things to do.
I also had a last minute issue pop up and Sandi was able to accommodate so the vacation was still worry free! (Quick and excellent customer service at all times.)
My group and I are usually down in Florida at least once per year and have now made it our #1 priority to see whether this cottage is available so we can book it. It's the perfect place to get a little rest before getting back to the activities.
I will be staying each chance I get!

Our favorite home-away-from-home
We love this cottage! It's so close to the ocean, to bars and restaurants, to nature walks, to everything. Sandi is the best -- if there's any question, she is right on it. The house is immaculate, the beds are comfortable, the WiFi always works, the neighbors are lovely but not intrusive, the grocery store is walking distance, and you can watch space launches from the beach! What more could anyone ask for?

Another Great Stay at a Perfect Beach Condo
We used to stay at all the big resorts in the area but found this hidden treasure 3-4 years ago and it's the only place we have stayed since. Great place, very well kept, very clean, quiet area and house to beach is literally less than 60 seconds. Grocery store and restaurants just a couple minutes away at most. Beach is very nice and not dealing with any traffic or crowds is WONDERFUL. We will be back once again next year (if not again this year for our anniversary). Now for the best part, the owner Sandi is simply the greatest. Very responsive and truly cares that you have the best stay possible. Just book it if available and you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful getaway
Mako Beach cottage was perfect for our Florida getaway. The cottage is very clean and steps from the ocean. We enjoyed the screened in porch and morning sunrise beach walks. Great, quiet location with grocery stores and restaurants close by. Sandy was excellent to communicate with and answered questions promptly. Would love to make a return visit!

Our favorite "other home"!
This is the perfect house for ocean lovers. It has everything we needed for a six-week stay, and we were as happy inside on coldish days as we were on the beach on nice days. Sandi is the perfect host! She even texted us whenever there was a scheduled space launch, which we could see from the private deck. The beach is Right There and you can walk for miles.
We've stayed in many rentals, and there are always things we wished we had known in advance. Here they are: Mako Beach Cottage has excellent wi-fi, the water is delicious (you won't be buying bottled water), the laundry works great, the neighbors are friendly and respectful, the grocery store is only 2 blocks away, the parking is part of the property so you aren't sharing it with anyone else, the kitchen is well-equipped, there are plenty of nice towels, the master bed is very comfortable. It really is perfect!

Wonderful stay!
We couldn’t have been happier staying at the beach cottage. It was clean, cozy, and the location can’t be beat. Sandi was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. Our little boys absolutely loved being able to run down to the beach multiple times a day. It was great to stay somewhere with such close beach access and no beach driving. We will certainly be staying here again in the future!

Epic stay!
This cottage was a wonderful find! Three beds, two bathrooms, a fully furnished kitchen and living area. This little spot is right at the beach and has a wonderful view of the ocean.
It also comes equipped with a washer and dryer in case you need to do your laundry! Would definitely recommend and I will be booking here again!

We have stayed here several years and will continue to come back. This place is just a perfect home away from home. Sandy the owner is wonderful to work with. Adorable cottage!
We traveled to ormond beach for a girls trip with my mom and sister and our kids, we chose the mako cottage because it was adorable and looked close to the beach. It was the best house renting experience I've ever had and we travel often. The owner was absolutely amazing and so sweet! She texted to make sure I had her number to be able to reach her at any time and let us know that we were able to check in early and stay later as we tried to travel overnight because of having littles. The house was closer to the beach than I thought and had everything we needed to enjoy a long weekend away! I cannot wait to stay here again with my husband and our kids :) I think it will be our new yearly vacation spot!
