Interaction with guests: The cabin is at one end of our 10 acre property near the river and spring. Our residence is at the other end. We are almost always personally available for questions or problems and always available by phone.
Great couple who opened their little place of heaven for us, and our two dogs. Even though the policy was just one dog, allowed us at the last minute to bring our new addition foster. This place was in the woods that lined up against Rum island, where we had kayaks that we took on the adventure with both pups. Very secluded quiet, great experience, for they provided everything that you would need while you were in the cabin.

Worth every penny
Quiet, cute and beautiful all rolled into one. Had a bbq, fire pit (just bring charcoal and firewood), hammock which I used more than I thought. A lot of outdoor space. A quick 5 minute walk up to the river. Inside the cabin was relaxing. AC WORKS great, coffee pot, n cozy clean bed

Perfect Getaway
After being stuck inside all year this trip was needed! The cabin has EVERYTHING you need and greatly exceeded our expectations. Just bring your food, drinks, and some lanterns (it gets really dark) and you're ready to go! The bed was cozy and the cabin was extremely clean. The fire pit and grill were well-maintained, easy to use, and beautiful. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, giving a book with directions to anywhere you would like to go as well as recommendations. The spring and trails around the area were beautiful. We're looking forward to our next trip up there!

It was just ok
My boyfriend and I were looking forward to a quiet, relaxing, private time close to springs. The owners are very nice and location can’t be beat! While the cabin is in a secluded area in the forest. It’s also on private property. After paddling all morning through springs we just wanted a quiet time at the waterside since this is what drew us to this cabin in the first place. Unfortunately, there were people (owner family) with loud kids ALL day at the waterside. We weren’t able to enjoy the beach/spring area at all. They also had to walk right past the front of the cabin to enter/exit the springs bank. Not private at all! As for the cabin, it could definitely use a new larger mattress. The full size bed was very uneven and uncomfortable and no bathroom sink. The cabin decor could use some updating and it had a musty smell.

Paradise
If you’re a nature lover this is your Eden. The cabin is tiny. The water pressure is very good making a enjoyable shower in morning. There’s a limited kitchen. However if you enjoy the outdoors this is a wonderland with a large fire ring, tented picnic table and a short walk to the river where there is an active spring.
Barbie & I spent two nights and have booked our return next year.

Tiny cabin in the big woods
What a lovely spot to relax, and unwind and get back some peace of mind. Maryann and Dave are very nice people and they provide pretty much everything you need for a few nights stay in thier cute 1 room cabin. Dave even set up out first camp fire so that it would be all ready to burn. There is a short path to a little spring that opens up into the Santa fe river. Kayaks and fishing poles recomend. A lazy nap in the hammock while your food cooks on the grill makes for a great evening. Dont forget to bring charcoal. We would definatley do this again. It was really peaceful and beautiful there.

Rum Island Cabin is a cozy cabin nestled in a small clearing in the north florida woods on our 10 acre property. A short walk leads to a small, pristine spring at the Santa fe River. Rum Island Spring Park is a 1/4 mile walk through the woods. Swimming, picnicking, snorkeling and floating are the major activities. There are many beautiful and diverse state parks within 5-15 miles that offer swimming, cave-diving, hiking, birding, and relaxing in nature. Enjoying nature in our peaceful, rustic surroundings is our main draw. The charming town of High Springs is 6 mi. away with unique shops and restaurants. Gainesville, and the University of Florida, is 25 miles away and offers museums, events, music and booming nightlife.
There are several canoe/kayak outfitters close by...one right up the street...snorkeling and scuba diving out your door or at world renowned Ginnie Springs-1 mile down river.
