There are two ways of renting: THE HOUSE RENTAL which can be for short terms or up to six months. The house is the largest and most spacious of the homes remaining in the historic Village of South Britain.
It was built in 1795 at the zenith of its industrial factories producing as much or more of metal products as anywhere else in Connecticut. It became the home of Southbury's first medical doctor in 1824.

The center-hall plan is a typical design for the largest of colonial homes with four large rooms on the corners of each floor. The entry hall has the whstairway to the bedrooms above and doorways to the dining room and library on the front corners, and an over-sized living room with a huge fireplace, multiple windows and doors leading to the gardens beyond. About the neighborhood
The area has many attractions to explore and possible activities: Tour the historically intact village dating to 1715. Take advantage of the nearby Audubon Center for bird watching. Begin your day by climbing the hill beyond the lawn - the property goes to the top of the hill. Hike on dozens of trails within a mile of the house. Rent horses from the stable to the south on the trails. Rent bicycles in town. Fish the Pomperaug River.

Railway: Danbury: 13.7 mi
I-84's exit 14 is South Britain. Turn north and when you pass the traffic light the house is one mile north on South Britain Road. The house is the second on the right after passing the Congregational Church on the left.

The Peter Pan bus from either New York or Hartford exits as described above.
It turns left at the traffic light to reach the nearby Dunkin Doughnuts just beyond the filling station. It is just over a mile from there to the house.
