This is a wonderful place to spend some time decompressing from your busy schedule. The location is on the grounds of a lovely BB, The Brainerd House in Haddam, CT. It us a a beautiful, very private, little one bedroom cottage with every possible amenity. The kitchen was fully equipped and outside there is a gas grill if you prefer to cook outside. The views of the surrounding woods are lush and green and you can see some of the Connecticut River through the trees below. The tranquility and the peace of this setting were just what we needed.
There is a comfortable sun room with the same view where you can also watch t.v.
The main room contained seating and a full sized, very comfortable bed with a fireplace in that room.
Antique furniture and lighting fixtures added to the quaint setting and were absolutely beautiful pieces. The owners spared no expense in decorating and restoring this little cottage. The bathroom is beautiful and large. Everything you needed was...

We were delighted with EVERYTHING about the Laurel Cottage (on the property of the Nehemiah Brainerd House B&B in Haddam)!! From the moment we arrived, the owners Maryan and Jeff, made us feel comfortable and very welcome in their elegantly furnished cottage.
The cottage is beautifully appointed and has anything you would need for a lovely and comfortable stay, including a fully equipped kitchen with easily found items needed for any kind of meal. We cooked, and ate out in local restaurants, with equal ease. Enjoying a glass of wine on the gorgeous stone patio (overlooking the river) was one of our favorite things to do each evening. When not at the cottage, we found all kinds of fun things to do in the area. We included a visit to Essex (about 20 minutes drive) and tasted the goodies at the Essex Olive Oil Co. as well as enjoying lunch at Marleys!). The Connecticut River museum has one of the most interesting collection of artifacts depicting the history and people of...
