We spent 4 nights at Crows Hermitage, Ardcath as part of our honeymoon! We loved it! Colm was fantastic and helped us with whatever we needed or asked! We arrived to beautiful homemade scones, jam and cream which were a real treat and on leaving a bottle of prosecco to toast our nuptials! The kitchen facilities at Crows Hermitage were...

Crow's hermitage is more than we could have wished, overlooking a ruined Abbey, this tiny converted property oozes with history - the original building dates back to the 1600's.. The wonderful Irish welcome, with a wood-burning stove, Irish music, candles and stocked with loads of books and information about the area... Newgrange is about 20 minutes away, so is Trim...

Totally loved the head space this place and its setting created (and maintained). Tough to explain but really easy to understand. Had the right blend of comfort and effort - the effort being the beat of keeping the log / peat fire going at a healthy balance, as we were there at a shoulder season of showers and wind blows...

About the neighborhood
What a gem! This cosy conversion is ideal for couples, situated only 9 miles from Drogheda, 45 minutes from Dublin City in a countryside setting with an ancient 13th century Abbey to the rear. This charming cosy barn conversion has an inviting woodburning stove, a loft style bedroom and a kitchen corner which has a hob for cooking and a combi microwave oven. There are good restaurants in nearby villages Stamullen and Ashbourne. The area is famous for horse racing with easy access to both FairyHouse and Bellewstown whilst the historic sites of Newgrange, Hill of Tara and the Battle of the Boyne are also only short distances away.<BR>~ TV only plays DVDs as the area is bad for getting channels but the owner has a selection of DVDs available.
