It’s winter and snow time in the hills! Come on up and treat your family to a weekend retreat. 'Get-aways' are a great idea for a gift for your family, especially during the snow season. Our cabin in Sugar Pine is a beautiful place winter, spring, summer or fall. Hiking when its cool is awesome. Great mountain cabin getaway that's cozy for 2 but can sleep up to 10 people all in beds make this a versatile winner! $175/night or$650/week. Slightly higher seasonal pricing for holiday periods. BBQ outside, read on the deck, build a cracking fire in the fireplace during the evening, take a walk to Sugar Pine Lake. Its always fun to go up higher to Pinecrest, Strawberry or even the top of the Sonora Pass and watch the scenery and geology change as you drive higher. Its always fun to go up higher to Pinecrest, Strawberry or even the top of the Sonora Pass and watch the scenery and geology change as you drive higher. When the snow arrives again, ski and snow play areas are within 15-30 minutes all during the snow season. In the winter, you'll be a mere 22 miles from Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and 25 miles from Leland High Sierra Snow Play. There is a great ice skating rink in Long Barn (usually opens before Thanksgiving), only 8 miles away at a very reasonable cost. In the winter, you'll be a mere 22 miles from Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and 25 miles from Leland High Sierra Snow Play. We have some inexpensive “snow toys” in the basement just waiting for you! Our great mountain getaway is centrally located to all of the things that this wonderful area has to offer. Our privately owned cabin is in a nice wooded area of Sugar Pine, just 3 miles above Twain Harte. If you need to stay in touch, we now have WiFi internet set up for you to use. Check out Twain Harte Chamber of Commerce Calendar for weekly Saturday night concerts and more for the summer, as well as Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau and Pinecrest Lakes website for other local happenings. Sierra Repertory Theatre and Sonora Movie Theater are 15 miles down the hill. There are a lot of dining establishments that are easily accessed but never forget our fully equipped kitchen or the option to BBQ outside on our spacious deck. Twain Harte Market, just 3 miles down the hill, will surprise you with its gourmet deli selections, great meat and produce departments, artisan breads and even sushi!2 Bedroom + Loft with 2 queen size beds + Hide-a-Bed in the Living Room and 2 Bathrooms (shower and tub-shower combo). Versatile sleeping accommodations to accommodate your group's size. $175/night (2 night minimum), $500 for a 4 day weekend, $650 for a week. Staircases that can't be shut off make it inappropriate for families with very small children. Free Stuff:Tons of hiking and mountain bike trails of all levels. Lots of great fishing areas close by for trout season. Tons of beautiful drives and destination drives like Columbia State Park Historical Area (wild west live activities, VERY kid friendly and lots of family oriented activities and museums). Free outdoor movies every night during special seasons at Pinecrest Lake & selected nights in Twain Harte. Also a great family beach area with child swimming area at both Pinecrest Lake and our private Sugar Pine Lake. Day hiking and picnics at Pinecrest Lake and other areas such as Leland Meadows & Clark's Fork are a great idea. In the springtime, the mountains are just gorgeous, with wildflowers abloom, redbud and dogwood trees, rolling green hills. For the summer time, we are members of the Sugar Pine Lake Assoc, so you have a private swimming lake (w/ sandy beach) only a block from the cabin. Pinecrest Lake and Day Park is an easy 20-30 minute drive up the hill. Middle of the Road and Above Cost-Wise: Close enough for a day in Yosemite National Park, Black Oak Casino in Tuolumne (shows, concerts (a lot are free), and gambling of course. Wine tasting in Murphy's. Pinecrest Lake-You can rent bikes, paddleboats, kayaks, sailboats, and pontoon party boat rentals. Colombia State Park-a great and historic place to visit. About the neighborhood
Our cabin is at approximately 4500 SF, high enough to be fairly cool in the summer and close to Dodge Ridge for winter sports, but low enough you rarely have to deal with snow on the roads during the winter. Our cabin is fairly secluded, with only the Sugar Pine 'Fishing Lake' across the road and the Sugar Pine Swimming Lake less than a block away. We have plenty of parking with a large carport and 2nd drive so you can easily get vehicles off the road. It's easy to find, right off Highway 108, only 3 miles past Twain Harte, and we'll send you an easy for follow map with directions when you reserve the cabin. There's golf in Twain Harte, historic mining town in Colombia, and amazingly good theatre arts productions in Sonora in addition to all the outdoor activities inherent in a mountain...
