Hawk's Rest is for the Adventurous Glampers out there. This wonderful home is nestled 12 feet above the ground and supported by three 800 year old oaks. The spiral staircase ascends to our 200 sq. ft. home with a sleeping loft, bathroom and living room. The 3/4 wrap around deck has a hammock for resting and a small coffee table with chairs to enjoy the view while having morning coffee. When you stay at Hawk's Rest, you will let the cares of the world soar away, like the Hawks that actually come to rest in the trees.

Interaction with guests:Â We interact regularly with our guests when we are around. When we give the keys to our guests, we usually give a rundown of the area and give some helpful tips for getting around Yosemite, especially during the summer. We also share tips on the best restaurants as well.
The treehouse was very warm and romantic… we were both very happy with the ambiance. The host Rusty was very warm an accommodating as he met us very late evening to show us the amenities. There are also friendly doggies and goats on the property. We would definitely stay here again.

Hidden Gem
We booked this place last year for our Anniversary. It’s honestly a hidden Gem. Loved the style of the tree house, it is small but has everything you need, we brought food to cook outdoors and had a bonfire every night it was amazing! The owner was very helpful, when we got there he greeted us and told us about close hiking places, and the fact that’s its close to Yosemite is definitely a plus! While there we had a chance to check out the Red Little Caboose and that’s where we are staying so
excited!!

Totally misleading
We booked this as part of a Yosemite adventure. When we arrived it was clear this was not a log cabin. It is timber framed, clad in corrugated iron. It is small and when we arrived unprepared for guests. The construction is such that one can view the sitting area from the W.C. The shower is a tin tub with a plastic sheet around it. The sleeping area is above the sitting area and I'm sure the steps leading up to it are not to code. Its not possible to stand in the sleeping area. The mattress condition was questionable and as a result we did not stay. I cancelled a 4 night stay. We were helped by the Oakhurst visitor centre who managed to find us alternative accommodation. I would not recommend this at all!!!

A great place to stay!
Close to Yosemite Park. The owner (Rusty) greeted us upon arrival. He was very helpful with recommendations. It's located in a subdivision filled with very hospitable people. There was even a string of light around the caboose (it was very welcoming especially since we had been on the road a long time.)
Loved it! Would do it again in a heart beat! Thanks, Rusty!!
