My 'Sanctuary by the Sea,' a former dance studio and meditation room, is an ideal get-away spot for 1 vacationer, especially those who enjoy beach walking, hiking, surfing, SUP'ing, whale watching, etc, as well as those who prefer privacy/independence. Looking to settle down in the Central Coast? This is the perfect space to live until you find your permanent residence.
The mirrors bring plenty of daylight into the studio and make the unit feel spacious. The combination of greens & browns throughout facilitate relaxation & produce an undeniable coziness in the space. The modest adornments bring a playful yet mellow vibe. I dare to say: most guests will be delighted if not enchanted after a night or two in my 'Sanctuary by the Sea.'
ADDITIONAL AMENITIES: Owner will launder bedding and napkins once a month (3rd Friday after check in). No other laundry services are included.

Moving out of the Chicago area and trying to find a home on the Central Coast was stressful, but staying for a while at the Sanctuary by the Sea was a great experience. The peace and positive energy of this place helped me relax and re-charge for my home search. Sometimes, when I woke up during the night, the distant sound of crashing waves helped me fall back to sleep. This is a well kept and clean studio, in a nice and quiet residential neighborhood, yet close to grocery stores, restaurants, and the beach.
I have enjoyed my stay in the Sanctuary by the Sea and the Morro Bay area so much that I decided to buy a condo in this city.

Tranquil Little Hideaway
My husband and I were looking for a cozy place to relax in the evenings after riding our motorcycles all day along the California coast and this location was perfect. The sheets were crisp, the towels fluffy, the host went to extra effort to ensure that we felt safe and welcomed. It was a perfect place to relax and recharge for the next day's adventures. We are already planning to stay here again for a future trip.

Perfect and Peaceful by the Sea!
My daughter and I loved Laura’s place! Cozy, comfortable and sooo clean in a great location. Very well thought out private space with all of the amenities that you could possibly need, along with a super comfortable bed. Laura has been a great host and I highly recommend her Sanctuary by the Sea when visiting Morro Bay or surrounding areas! Will be back soon. 10/10

Great cozy spot with many amenities
There's a lot packed into this location; Laura is very thoughtful about the amenities. The soft bamboo sheets are a very nice touch :p ! The location is also nice. Just a short jaunt to both the beach and a local park. One of my favorite things though is the planted bank just behind the house. It is full of coastal beauties and unique plants ! 5/5 !

Private and great location
This rental was very private - separate entrance, with a great view of the ocean from the street right outside the rental. The unit was immaculate and had everything I needed for my 3 evenings. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet, with a wonderful beach walk only 5-10 walk away. I’ll definitey be back!

This was the nicest rental we had ever found
Laura’s studio is a gem. Nothing missing, everything brand new. The bed is excellent, and the shower perfect. Laura is charming and welcoming, and she made us feel like friends visiting. Morro Bay is a peaceful seaside little town, with lots to see. We enjoyed Hearst Castle, the elephant seals, and quite a few of the lovely eateries around the area. We definitely recommend Laura’ Sanctuary by the Sea, and we will be back.

Quiet, Thoughtful, Pacific Site
I relished my 10-day stay in Laura's Sanctuary by the Sea. Attending an event and travel-packed wedding/vacation for international visitors, I was always SO relieved to relax in the cool and quiet privacy of this space. It scored a solid 10 on my 3 most important requirements: quiet; comfortable bed and pillows; and a hot shower with ample pressure. (No hotel has ever offered me a better selection of pillows, a more inviting mattress or a more invigorating shower.)
Laura prepared this space with careful consideration; I lacked for nothing and noticed many thoughtful extras-- from a fully-equipped picnic basket to digital accessories to enjoy my music. She is a pleasant host, fun to talk to, and was very respectful of my space. She even has an amazing cat who understands three languages and performs tricks.
I heartily recommend the Sanctuary by the Sea as well as Morro Bay for an relaxing and wonder-filled seaside experience.

Everything you need.
The studio was everything it said it was. It was very clean and close to beach. No tv or stereo, which I didn't realize when booking. But we still had a good experience.

Just to clarify for future guests, a high quality speaker (in lieu of a stereo) is made available to guests. You can hook up your ipod or other electronic device and listen to your music; the jawbone jambox speaker is also capable of blue tooth connection.

Quaint and cozy with attention to detail
The location is quite peaceful situated far back in a residential area. There is not much around in the immediate few blocks close to the house but within a 15min walk there is a Brewery, Mexican Restaurant, and local dive Bar. The embarcadero area was amazing with lots of shops and great food...about a 10-15min drive. Definitely, an ideal location if you have access to a vehicle.
Laura was an amazing host and checked in periodically to make sure the stay was comfortable. The rental was well stocked with the essentials, great attention to detail and necessities for guests. Very well planned out. Great Kitchenette. Floors are all wood and it tends to be a little loud especially if people are walking upstairs or in the next room, but overall very peaceful! Highly recommend!

Quiet; family oriented -- When driving on my street (and other parallel streets) you will encounter a “blind intersection” at Tide street (a 4-way intersection with no stop signs where drivers lack at least 100 feet of visibility in all directions). The speed limit is 15 mph.
Accessible from Main Street, the street sign initially has two names on it. After turning on the street with the double sign, stay straight to remain on the correct street. There is a parking spot for guests on the right hand side of the driveway.
