My wife and I have just returned from a five night stay at Steve's couple's retreat in La Jolla this cottage has to be one of the best rentals I have ever stayed in I have rented holiday accommodation all over Europe and north America and this property is right up there with the best. It's in a fantastic location in a nice residential neighbourhood within easy walking distance to half dozen good local restaurants and Vons supermarket Steve's a great guy and has thought of absolutely everything you might need to make your stay a perfect one all the appliances and the furnishings are top notch, this cottage has now become our go to spot when we return to La Jolla I would not even consider staying anywhere else now having stayed with Steve in the couple's retreat.

This was a perfect week for us at this lovely cottage in a quiet neighborhood in La Jolla. We walked to a nearby coffee shop (Pannikin), restaurants (Bernini's Bistro - thanks Steve for the gift card; El Pescadore- a great fish market/restaurant) and drove to George's at the Cove (sunset must) and the wonderful farmers market on Sunday (two blocks away). We also walked to the beach and came back to sit in the lovely patio and had our wine (thanks again Steve) and cheese. It is well appointed with everything a home chef would need. There was a cooler to use and beach chairs and beach umbrella too. The king bed was very comfortable. We will visit again for sure.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at Steve's La Jolla cottage. It is comfortable, clean, well stocked and in a great walkable neighborhood. The bed was comfortable, the shower worked great and we loved sitting in front of the fireplace or outside in the patio. Steve's wonderful original artwork on the walls made it even nicer. Steve was easy to work with and went out of his way to make our stay special. We would definitely stay again and recommend his place to others.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary in La Jolla this summer, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Steve was awesome and made sure we were taken care of, and our stay was as relaxing and worry-free as we could have hoped for. There was wine and a gift card to a local restaurant waiting for us when we arrived. Then a couple days later, there was an arrangement of flowers at our door wishing us a happy anniversary. He also put together a list of local hotspots that made it easy for us to explore La Jolla at its best. We had a such a great time. Thanks Steve! We'll be back!

La Jolla Couples Retreat is a fabulous place for couples, located in a very nice neighborhood and within walking distance of several very good restaurants. It is a cottage in the backyard of the owner's house and is very private and quiet. It is close to the principal shops and restaurants of La Jolla and conveniently located for going to all the major tourist sites of the San Diego area. The cottage is also fully equipped with anything you may need. And the owner is very friendly and accommodating. We stayed for 4 nights and absolutely loved the place.

Steve was a great host for our visit to La Jolla. His retreat was absolutely perfect for us. It had all the amenities of home including a fireplace, a great bed, and even beach chairs! The location was walkable to La Jolla Cove and great restaurants which we found ideal. He provided us with excellent recommendations for exploring and dining which proved invaluable since we were only able to stay for two days. Our experience only whetted our appetite to go back and spend more time at Steve's lovely La Jolla retreat.

Spent our 30th Anniversary at this great cottage. It was a very quiet, comfortable, well furnished and private retreat close to everything. Steve made us feel welcome from the beginning responding quickly to our questions before arrival and making sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. We definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable retreat in La Jolla. We'll definitely be back. Thanks Steve.

My wife and I arrived in San Diego for our honeymoon needing a relaxing week in the worst way. We had high hopes for this vacation cottage, and it somehow exceeded them. It started at the very beginning of our visit when we noticed that "private patio" meant ALL OURS. No sharing with the main house. The lovely surprises continued all week long. Need a few kitchen utensils after shopping at La Jolla's farmers market? We had 'em. Need sunscreen? Got it. Need a beach umbrella and boogie boards? Of course! Steve had everything we needed to make our honeymoon perfect. We'll never forget it.

Stayed here with my wife as a anniversary retreat. Really enjoyed being within walking distance to the beach and being able to rent a bike and get to La Jolla Cove. Also close to "downtown" La Jolla with shops, eateries, and galleries. The cottage was cozy and had everything you could need in the kitchen. Gas fireplace was great for ambience and actual warmth in the cool evenings (it was actually overcast and misty most of the time we were there....apparently that is the case in June). The bed was very comfortable...maybe the best I've slept on in lodging away from home in a long time. We enjoyed Steve's art in the cottage and he gave us a tour of more of his work in his studio, most of which is available for sale. Highly recommended...good price...we'd stay here again if in the area.

We had a wonderful experience in this rental. Steve manages with the professionalism of a hotel but feeling of a home. The Rental was even nicer than pictures show, well equipped and located. Home has a washer and dryer as well and close to many wonderful restaurants, beaches and close to attractions. Loved having windows open and sitting on patio. Highly recommend and would stay again.
