Interaction with guests
Laura lives locally in Glencairn. Pierre and Teresa live in the apartment underneath GlenLin so are on hand for any advice or emergencies. Most of our guests are very self sufficient, but it is not unheard of to go for a drink together in our local hotel.

About the neighborhood
Conveniently situated on the False Bay coastline between Fish Hoek and Simon’s Town, the mountainous subhurb of Glencairn offers sea views, a wetland nature reserve and walking trails. The beach is sandy and there is a tidal pool. Southern right whales can often be seen during whale watching season. It is a short drive to historic Simon's Town, the Penguins at Boulders and Cape Point Nature Reserve. It is a 35-km drive to central Cape Town and the Waterfront. The vineyards of Constantia are a short 15/20 minutes drive away and it is a scenic one hours drive to Stellenbosch. Chapman's Peak Drive, several golf courses and Kalk Bay are all close by. It is a great base for cyclists, hikers, horse riders, divers and water sports enthusiasts.
Getting around
The cape peninsula is poorly served by public transport. There is a train station at Glencairn for trains to Simon's Town and all stations to Cape Town including Kalk Bay, St James and Muizenberg. However, in order to enjoy all the peninsula has to offer a car is essential. The area is well served by Tour Guides for a day trip and Noordhoek taxis offer a good taxi service.
