Villa Angelina represents a very rare example of traditional Kefalonian villa architecture using modern construction methods. Just 10 m from a sandy beach with calm waters. Extra safe for young swimmers as it remains shallow for about 15 m looking like a huge natural swimming pool. The interior has been designed elegantly with high ceilings and windows placed smartly to provide sunny and airy rooms. In the old days a typical Kefalonian villa would take advantage of its surroundings to achieve the optimal temperature conditions and this is exactly how Villa Angelina is designed. The ground floor is very spacious (50m²) with interior stairs leading up, to two roomy double bedrooms (25m² each) and down to the third bedroom (50m²). The large windows facing the sea lead to a big patio that allows guests to dine outside and enjoy the garden.

Anything guests need we are available on sight. I am a married woman who stays in the property and if there is anything I can help with please do not hesitate to ask. The property is quite large so our paths rarely cross. There is also a janitor available 24/7. Cleaning and changing linens takes place twice a week.

About the neighborhood
The beach is made up of a soft, red sand and the surrounding hills from a bluish-white clay which is popular among locals for a variety of uses including beauty masks. This fascinating material is abundant on this side of the island and can be found only here. But its most important contribution is in the visual contrast it makes with the sand and the sea. Every full moon offers a unique luminance that transcends these colours into a beautiful, almost martianlike, scenery. The sand slopes very gently and the water remains shallow for about 15m. The cape offers very calm and safe waters making it ideal for children. It is also popular among the Loggerhead sea turtles Careta Careta, choosing Kounopetra beach frequently to nest their eggs.
The surrounding villages offer an incredible opportunity to learn about the local culture. Matzavinata village is hosts the greatest wine festival on the island were guests can taste the local varieties. Next to Matzavinata is the Vouni village (4km) where visitors can explore the vineyards of Foivos Domaine which has repeatedly won many international wine awards.
About 300m from the property a very important festival called “Riganada” takes place during July. The name comes from Kefalonia's traditional appetiser. It is hand made bread dipped in freshly chopped tomatoes, olive oil, feta, and oregano (all local products) , and it is offered to visitors while they enjoy live traditional Kefalonian music called “Cantades”, and local wine.
