Reviewed December 19, 2016 for a stay in December 2016

We stayed for 5 days in early December 2016. It's a 15 mile drive from Kings Canyon, but it takes 35' to drive it. The "long and winding road" we used to sing every time (day) we drove it. This is the only negative point of staying in Sequoia Resort. Especially in the winter time, with a shorter daylight, it can make the visit a bit limited.

Sequoia Resort is a big property (377 acres), with hiking trails, a pond, big nature, terrific views and other features (even a volleyball court). We stayed in cabin "House 2", a big studio, with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. There is an outdoors propane grill and an old fashion heating stove, which we used every day. We were the only guests, so it was really quiet and felt like we were in the middle of the parks.

There are no grocery stores/gas stations close to Sequoia Resort, we bought everything in Fresno, before arriving. Going to restaurants is possible, but thinking about driving...

Reviewed June 30, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed at Sequoia Resort for 3 nights to explore Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. What we thought would be one of our favourite accommodations of our trip turned out to be very disappointing in many respects. I really want to give this place a higher rating but I just can't.

I will start with the positives. This resort is in an incredible setting in the mountains and sitting on the deck in the morning, with a cup of coffee and enjoying the sounds of nature is very hard to beat. The house we stayed in (number 2) is a good size and has a nice view of the lake. It is an easy drive to the entrance of Kings Canyon (the road is pretty windy) but the south entrance of Sequoia is a bit of a drive (although we were happy to drive through the scenery for an hour or so).

Those are the positives and this place has great potential. However there were a number of negatives I must mention.

The minor ones were - we saw no sign of any staff whatsoever. We went to...

Management response:

Hello and I'm so sorry to hear of your experience. Sequoia Resort has just ONE manager (no "staff")and this is a busy season - I'm sorry I missed chatting with you! It's hard to get everything done. I will most certainly address the cleaning issues, you can be sure of that. I appreciate your feedback.
