Beautiful safe place. Great for family. Spent 4 days for our wedding. Our girls loved the beach thats only a few steps away and the garden.

Beautiful relaxing private get away
Stayed here for a week over Christmas. Access to snorkeling through the garden, sandy beach just steps away. Idyllic location. All rooms screened in, lovely big covered veranda with multiple seating and lounging areas including hammocks. Both rooms have ensuite bathrooms with lovely hot showers. Kitchen was well equipped and whole location was well kept and clean.

Perfect Nest
Yellow Bird sits beautifully in its surroundings, perfectly designed for the lovely Caribbean lifestyle. You can hear the waves rolling in to your little beach, a short stroll through a tropical garden. Comfortable and well supplied with domestic detail, you are well protected from mosquitoes indoors, with a range of hammock, recliners and other outdoor furniture on the large veranda where you can luxuriate at all hours of the day,enjoying gorgeous sea and island views. An hour after alighting here, I was seriously wondering how I could stay forever...

Amazing place to stay
Yellow Bird Cottage was an amazing place to stay. Right on the water with ever changing views and easy access to Hillsborough and other parts of the island. The cottage was well equipped - dinners on the outdoor deck were lovely and there are lots of comfortable spots to lounge indoors and out. A perfect home base for exploring Carriacou. Highly recommended.

Very happy to hear you were able to enjoy some nice dinners on the veranda. It's one of our favorite things to do, especially if we get fresh fish from the fish market in Hillsborough.

A beautiful place to recharge
Yellow Bird was a wonderful place to recharge after sailing through the Grenadines. It's a wonderful retreat, in a beautiful place. Although we did not spend enough time at Yellow Bird, we relaxed on the large deck and were able to taxi a short distance to the Maroon Festival activities held on the island. The cottage had everything we needed. Transportation was arranged for us and provided by Lincoln. "Linky" was a treasure trove of island information and history.

Lovely, comfy slice of heaven
Staying here was a perfect ending for a long vacation though the Grenadines. Our one regret was only having 2 nights to stay at this very well-appointed and comfortable cottage with an incredible view of the bay. Since we like to cook, we found the kitchen to be very well equipped and enjoyed breakfast and dinner on the lovely terrace, which happens to have plenty of seating for napping on hammocks and lounging on comfy chairs. The sunset views were spectacular. Bedrooms were also very comfortable and the extensive screens and fans kept the place very cool for sleeping. We enjoyed this place tremendously and all fantasized about returning someday for longer stays.

We love to cook too, so we're glad you appreciated all the gadgets. Sorry your trip was short, but we are pleased you had at least a couple of days to relax in the hammocks and the lounge chairs and enjoy the view of the sea. We hope you will come back someday!

Lovely place to stay
My husband and I really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Yellow bird. It is a simple, traditional beach cottage. Everything is well used and not fancy but works well! The kitchen is nicely equipped with everything you would need, including a toaster oven, blender, coffee maker and a nice fridge and oven. The internet worked well.The screens were in great shape. We were glad they were there in the evening to keep the bugs out. A nice breeze kept us cool, and the many fans would have helped if needed. We enjoyed swimming by the house but there was poor visibility for snorkeling while we were there. Lovely views from the house, and perhaps the best large poach area with comfortable seating we have ever had in a rental house. A rental car will give you the best flexibility for getting around but none was available during Carnival, so we managed just fine with the amiable taxi driver, buses(vans) and walking. We hope to return to Carriacou and would be happy to stay at Yellow Bird again!

Fantastic
It was a pleasant stay overall, it is a nice cabin styled vacation getaway home. The house is blessed with a wonderful sea view along with a view of the town. There is also access to the beach below the house where residents can swim privately. No complaints whatsoever.

Nourishment for the Soul
Our time at Yellow Bird was simply wonderful; we are already planning to return, hopefully next year! Each morning we awoke to doves gently cooing us from our slumber and were enveloped by beauty all around us. The warm, turquoise Caribbean Sea is right outside - literally steps away - and we snorkeled and swam each and every day. We also enjoyed just relaxing and reading on the immense wrap around deck (which by the way has a great covered section for those that seek shade). The deck also provided a completely unobstructed view of the most spectacular sunsets and amazing night sky possible. All this without even leaving the grounds! We did however venture out, enjoying a boat trip to snorkel and swim with turtles, hiking to remote beaches, and we even took a fabulous privately guided tour of Carriacou, learning all about the history of the island. Quite simply, Yellow Bird is the perfect place to feed your soul.

Great economical beach-side option. Service was good.
A GPS and daylight arrival is recommended for first time vacationers...if you arrive after sunset stop at the property manager and have them guide you in - you'll be glad you did! Car required to get to shopping, dinner out and to explore - 4wD recommended as roads are dicey off the main routes. We were prepared, shopped in advance and thus were not disappointed. Very much enjoyed.

The village of Craigston is a 15 minute walk from Hillsborough, the only town and port of entry to the island. Yellow Bird is located off the main road from town in a private community. Local buses pick up fares around the island and taxis are readily available. If desired, a car may be rented from our on-site property manager who is available to answer questions and guide you throughout your stay. Swimming access from villa & Sparrow Beach is inside the neighborhood; just a five minute walk from Yellow Bird.
The manager's services include meeting you at the airport, introducing you to your villa, and a 24 hour help line. At small cost they will stock you up with groceries and drinks, or arrange for a meal to be delivered to your villa.
