Lovely relaxing villa
What a perfect spot, great views, nice pool, very relaxing holiday.
The only negative was a very hard unforgiving bed.
Definitely a villa to return too.

Spacious and secluded villa with stunning views
The villa is situated in a quiet village, on top of a hill, so you have almost 360 views of the surrounding hills and the sea. There are nice restaurants nearby and it's only 15 min drive to the nearest supermarket. Close to Chania for days out and the airport. Many gorgeous beaches in easy driving distance - especially Elafonisi and Falasarna. Trips in close distance are the Botanical Gardens (don't miss the restaurant for a fresh drink and cake afterwards) and Samaria Gorge.
The villa itself is spacious and well equipped. There are two bathrooms, which is perfect for a family. The pool is probably the best aspect of all - large and deep with views all around. It's very difficult not to lie there all day and relax with a book. This is the second time we visited and we will be back.

Wonderful settting at the top of the hill - views for miles!
This villa was perfect for our stay, it was well stocked and had everything we needed. The pool was excellent and a welcome respite from the summer heat - inside the house was open, spacious and cool, with comprehensive air conditioning. The pool was serviced twice when we were there. We had trouble with one of the kitchen appliances but they were quick to organize someone to visit and assess the situation.
It is in a nice secluded area at the top of a hill overlooking the sea as well as the nearby valley and distant mountains. Due to the rural location and reduced light pollution, stargazing became a nightly activity for us. Nearby there are multiple beaches, a monastery which you can tour, vineyards for wine tasting, and an olive oil mill, which also had guided tours for a good price.
We look forward to returning to Crete one day and we hope to book this villa again when we do!

Loved this Villa over the years (about 7 every July) but..............
We have been booking this villa every year for about 7 years but sadly we have booked a different villa for 2019. The reason for this is basically the owner?
We have never communicated with him/her whoever as they just leave it to their property managers.
The villa is beautiful in its location with great outdoor areas and meticulously cared for pool. The maintenance management and staff who care for the house that you do have any contact with are always helpful.
During the years we have had to provide wine glasses and leave them for future guests due to the rubbish mixture of glassware and also kitchen equipment.
I have spent hours in Kissamos vodaphone store trying to sort out the wifi which is absolutely rubbish and works out around 40 euros a week and about 5 hours of my time over our 3 weeks.
A major issue is the ever failing water pump, it is not always the water company cutting off the water as you are told but the failing pump that you have to go into the outhouse to re-set half a dozen times per day. You will know if it is the water company as the large tanks will not be full.
Whilst wifi would not normally be an issue on holiday as its nice to get away, for us over the past 2 years it was essential to keep in touch with business back home and have online remote access into work when necessary.
In July 2018 we had to replace the old coffee machine in the first couple of days as it had a cracked jug which was a real scald risk. The machine was very tired anyway. I purchased a new machine for 35 euros but could not get the owner to pay for it. The fridge freezer needs updating too.
At the end of our 2018 holiday we ended up removing our glasses, hand blenders and coffee machine into storage at a friends and decided enough was enough and unfortunately our time at Theodorus (villa above the olives) had come to an end.
The owner should pay more attention to the items required to keep a villa in this price range in great condition such as sunbed cushions. Unfortunately we have just witnessed items becoming old and tired and just not renewed when required.
Fingers crossed for our new villa with FREE wifi, air con in every room, nice coffee machine and real Greek owners you can talk to. The good thing is Crete has not changed over the years!

Thanks for your review but actually you are a very old guest f the villa and have been in the villa years ago so now in 2019 what you are mentioning in the review does not exist anymore and everything have been fixed and working properly.

Simply Beautiful
Breath taking views all around . Lovely clean pool and homely villa , which had everything we needed.
Couldn’t stop taking photos of the views. Very private, have the sun all day around the pool, but plenty of shady spots to relax too.
Loved the balcony off the main bedroom, the pretty garden and the peacefulness.
Great local taverna within walking distance as well.

amazing house surrounded by flowers!
A house full of flowers with a big private pool in a beautiful location of Kamisiana village.
A place where you are away from traffic! The house has all the facilities , fully equipped kitchen , balcony with spectacular view, lounge sitting area. Gives you the feeling of the typical summery house and at the same time a traditional. Perfect place for families but also for couples who want to spend relaxing holidays.

Lovely Villa
Stunning views 360 degrees from this lovely villa. Fab pool (though no shallow end which might put off those with small children). Great sheltered sitting area for the evenings or when the Cretan winds blow. Visits to the wonderful taverna in Vouves (within walking distance) are compulsory. Friendly people everywhere. Very nice welcome pack on arrival. Cons: internet access a bit patchy & bedrooms a little compact, but these things heavily outweighed by the pluses.

Superb property and service.
This property exceeded our expectations. We arrived late at night and the fridge was stocked with groceries to get us through the first day as we found our way around. We woke up to a gorgeous view and loads of butterflies clustered around the lavender hedge in the lovely gardens. Immaculate pool and surrounding areas. Very quiet and peaceful area. A lovely walk through the olive groves to the taverna in the village. Excellent in every way.

Get some Greek in you!
Great villa, great location (not overlooked) and peaceful. Walk down to the Olive Tree in the evening and visit the Taverna and eat Greek 'home cooking' you won't be disappointed.
The only downsides are the WiFi was rubbish. You paid €20 and only got €2 worth of data. - something wrong with the data dongle in the villa??? When the issue was raised with the managing agent it got about the same amount of support as a vegetarian at an Australian BBQ.

Well equipped villa with stunning views
This villa is in a stunning location with amazing views. It is not overlooked and in a very rural area, at the end of an un-made up road. Good location for exploring the west of the island.
The swimming pool is fabulous - although be aware there is no shallow end. There are lots of terraces and seating areas so you can be in sun or shade whenever you want.
The villa is very well equipped inside with pretty much everything you could ask for and a really useful welcome pack on arrival. The only downsides were that there was no comfortable sofa for sitting in in the evening and you had to buy a card for the Wi-Fi which was not easy to do.

About the neighborhood
The olive tree has been declared by the Association of Cretan Olive Municipalities as a natural monument because of its shape and the exceptional aesthetics of its relied truck, reminiscent of exceptional woodwork.
The tree is located at Pano Vouves and belongs to Panagiotis Karapatakis. Its variety is called mastoid and is grafted on a rootstock of a wild olive tree. From this tree, the winner of the men’s’ marathon in the Olympic Games Athens 2004 was crowned.
The trunk at a height of 0.9m from the ground has a diameter of 3.70m and a circumference of 8.10m, while its base has a diameter of 4.53m and a circumference of 12.55m.
