I can’t say enough good things about this “little cabin in the woods”. The hosts, Lora & Andy, were the nicest, most accommodating & thoughtful hosts! They even paid to mail my sons hat back to us that he had left. My favorite part of our stay was all of the “extras” that were included.

Absolutely peaceful, tranquil and relaxing location and property. Cabin had it all. Well thought out and comfortable. Close to many fun hikes and trails! Spectacular vistas from huge deck. Our puppies loved the fenced in spacious yard! Viewed deer and bunnies almost daily. We hope to return in the fall!! Many thanks!!

This cabin is truly out of the way and allows for peace and solitude. The directions may need updating, it was very hard to find and the sign we were told to look for may have been moved. Luckily we turned down a dirt road at the blessing box and found the sign down the road a bit. The Hasty public access was amazing, beautiful river access with sandy shores and bluff views. It seriously felt more like a beach than the normal rocky river setting. The cliffside in was worth the drive for lunch and the view of the Arkansas Grand Canyon was beautiful. We drove to Ponca and Boxley and had a great time visiting the river access there. The only disappointment on the trip was that we didn't get to see the elk. The cabin had everything we needed and having bug spray, first aid kit, river towels, and pancake supplies provided was a nice touch. The hosts gave us our privacy and we truly enjoyed our time there. We made smores in the fire pit every night and enjoyed sitting on the porch while the breeze blew through. My oldest son loved the loft and played up there several times. Overall it was a great experience!

We stayed for our second time back in October 2021! We celebrated our second wedding anniversary while there! We love absolutely everything about this cabin and the area! The ozark cafe is a must while in town, all the people we have met have been so friendly and welcoming. I have never felt unwelcome or a stranger. The hiking is amazing and beautiful area. We are already planning our 3rd visit for next October for our next anniversary! We love it and are so excited for our next visit! Will be booking soon!

A good base for hiking and scenic drives in the area. A 40 minute hike (one-way) from the property takes you to the Buffalo River. You wouldn't be looking for places to stay in this area unless you wanted to stay in a rural area and get away from it all - this fulfills that criteria! The hosts are very helpful and communicate very quickly.

This little cabin was an amazing place to stay! It wasn't just a stay; it was a refreshing experience for both of us! My husband and I needed a place to escape to and unwind when we were both overwhelmed with work. This place fit the bill. It was so serene, romantic and while it was off the beaten path, it was not difficult to find. We were excited to drive up on the lovely property. The location is perfect, including a beautiful mountain view through the trees from the front porch and complete privacy. We enjoyed star gazing from the wrap around deck, watching hummingbirds zooming very close to us right off the front porch, beautiful scenery everywhere (around the cabin and driving around the area), the wildlife (all kinds of birds, some deer and butterflies), and sleeping on an extremely comfortable bed in a safe, welcoming environment. The cabin was clean and had bath towels and some laundry detergent supplied. Basic kitchen spices were also on hand, and there were marshmallows provided for s’mores! The kitchen is well-equipped with cookware and serving utensils for most everything. The atmosphere in the cabin was peaceful and it was only miles away from things to do. If we needed anything like groceries, we were close to Jasper. Lora and Andy had lovingly filled it with charming décor. My husband and I both enjoyed the beautifully crafted wood furniture. We also loved the washer and dryer! What a delight to pack away clean clothes instead of having laundry to do when we came home! The backyard has a firepit and room to stargaze, or just to throw a ball around with a dog. This cabin was perfect for our short stay. Fairly priced and very clean. Lora and Andy were very hospitable, helpful and the provisions in the home exceeded our expectations. Someday, we would love to come back to enjoy the soothing nature of this place. We would absolutely recommend it to all our friends. Thank you to Lora and Andy for being so wonderful!

Excellent stay! Cabin was great. We have stayed at several cabins in this area and one just down the road from this one. This is one of our favorite places to stay. We plan on coming back sometime and hopefully this cabin will be available. We give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

About the neighborhood
A Hasty Getaway is in the middle of Newton County, the most beautiful part of Arkansas, The Natural State. Amazing hiking trails and waterfalls are everywhere and river outfitters can arrange your float trip down The Buffalo river. Wild elk roam the area. Scenic Highway 7 is one of the Ten Most Beautiful drives in the USA. It's a great area for motorcycle riding. There are great restaurants around and interesting shopping experiences as well. Branson, Music City USA, is only an hour away. But the woods around the cabin and the way it sits atop a ridge offers you one of the best things to do; absolutely nothing!
Getting around
You will need a car to visit and get around. And a map. GPS is kind of spotty here and cell service can blink out at the worst times! Bring your hiking boots! Sturdy, comfortable shoes are a must; fancy shoes can stay at home!
