Tigh a' Chreagain is a spacious traditionally built 4 bedroom cottage situated in a beautiful rural location on the east coast of the Isle of Harris in the Western Isles. It is a 15 minute drive from the ferry port at Tarbert and a 20 minute drive to Leverburgh where you can take a boat trip to the uninhabited island of St Kilda. It is a very central base to explore the rugged coastlines of the east and the spectacular sandy beaches of the west coast of Harris.

Interaction with guests: I live just down the road from Tigh a' Chreagain and will be there to meet you when you arrive. I am on hand and will be around should any problems arise.
stayed here before a few years ago it was superb then and still is location is wonderful close to beaches and tarbert, also a very well equipped shop in leverborough ,seals in the bay just across the road ,skoon cafe is in walking distance and janice the owner is nearby if there are any problems which we didnt have everything you need is there decking ,out front too even had a few deer appear early in the morn 10 out of 10

Harris stay
Spent a fantastic week exploring Harris and Lewis from this fantastic cottage. The road to it seems daunting at first but you soon get used to it. It’s well kitted out and had everything we needed. Comfortable and warm which was good when you gone back cold and wet.
We were lucky to get an almost daily visit from local deer which were easy to spot from the cottage

Well appointed house in perfect location.
This house is situated close to Geocrab and the lovely Skoon Art Cafe .It is very comfortable and exceptionally clean. It is also close to beaches such as Luskentyre .The distance into Tarbert is approximately 15 minutes. A perfect location for a relaxing holiday .

How do you describe incredible?
Beautiful house with all amenities. We were very lucky with the weather so spent lots of time outside on the decking at the table and parasol. Incredible location! I really couldn't convey how wonderful it is. Nice and quiet and our dogs loved the garden, as did we as they couldn't get out of it.

Haven of comfort
A very comfortable & spacious house with everything we needed for a week on Harris. It was spotlessly clean, wonderful facilities, very friendly & helpful hosts only a few minutes away. WiFi was good except for our second day when it was a bit temperamental but still far better than expected. No mobile signal but that wasn't an issue. We had very mixed weather & needed somewhere cosy to retreat to after wet & windy outings. The heating was very easy to control. Access by single track roads was a bit wearing towards the end of the week but that's the price you pay for staying somewhere so special.

Perfect
Not only was the house a home from home where we totally lost track of time, but the owners were very friendly and helpful and just down the road. We had the best weather.... sun all the time but even if we hadn’t, we’d have been cosy in the house. As it was, we spent many hours sitting in the garden listening to the complete peace and quiet. Will stay there again.

Great holiday in Harris
The house is welcoming,very well provisioned,clean and tidy. Beaches are magnificent. Interesting places to visit and everyone was very helpful.Would suit anyone wanting a holiday to de-stress.

How do you pronounce “Geocrab”?
We’re just home from a week-long family holiday here. The ferry to Tarbert from Skye was easy going, straightforward directions to the house. Off the ferry, turn left up the very steep hill, follow the twisty, windy roads, turn left after the church sign, more twisty roads, left again and there you are. The roads take a bit of getting used to, but it’s fun to drive and the landscape is unbelievable.
We booked the house as one of a few available with 4 bedrooms (probably more on the west coast, but we’re not millionaires). Anyways, this place is fantastic. There were 7 of us and we all fitted in lovely, no tripping over each other, plenty room to relax, cook, eat and sleep. The whole place is well equipped, clean and comfy. We soon met Janice who could not have been more friendly and helpful.
A short walk from the house is a wee bay where you can watch otters, eagles, seals and sheep go about their business.

Well-equiped cottage on beautiful location
This is a great place to stay for a (short break) on Lewis and Harris. The cottage is well equipped and well suited for up to 6 people (it has 4 bedrooms for 8 people max, but the living and dining room are more suitable for 6 people). It's located along the Golden Route on South Harris, only minutes away from beautiful coastal locations, seals and maybe even otters. Its also a great place to bring your dogs, they can explore the spacious walled garden without the danger of getting on the road.
Janice is a lovely and helpful lady. When we come back to Harris, this will definitely be the first place to book again.
