Mayar Bhan is an architect designed eco home in Gruinard Bay, Gairloch finished to a very high standard. The house has been simply but tastefully decorated with double glazing and underfloor heated wooden & tiled floors throughout, supplemented by a cozy wood burning stove for the winter. It is fitted with a high quality kitchen, and all 3 bedrooms have en-suite facilities. The conservatory area provides additional space for relaxation. The house sits in a private, fully enclosed garden with decks accessed from the patio doors in the living area providing stunning views over Gruinard Bay, which can also be enjoyed from the upstairs bedroom balconies. Amazing house with great view
A wonderful self-catering house in Wester Ross. The house has well equipped and was spotless. Neil, the owner, was extremely helpful in advance of our visit. The view from the house is amazing across the bay and we spent many hours watching the boats and clouds. The house is flooded with light as there are so many windows. The house isn't overlooked and feels very private. The kitchen is well equipped, fridge is large and a table top freezer big enough for essentials. I would def recommend the house and plan to return.

Sunny Laide
A sun filled week in Laide at the lovely Mayar Bhan. The house is ideally located to explore the NW of Scotland and all that offers. Beautiful sandy beaches close by, lots of biking & hillwalking options great hospitality wherever you visit. And if you want to just chill, just go for breakfast, dinner or a glass of wine with a spectacular view on the decking

Marvellous Mayar Bhan
A fantastic, open, light, spacious, exceptionally warm ( very useful in a Scottish winter) holiday home for a wild (of the weather type) week in the beautiful North West coast of Scotland, where mountains literally rise from the sea. It is obvious the family who share their home with visitors love the home and location. Why wouldn’t you. They were also extremely helpful with all sorts of useful information about the area. We have stayed in homes all over Europe and this one has to be the best.

Perfect Family Holiday
A wonderful house to spend a family holiday. Breathtaking views of the bay while drinking coffee on the decking! A number of amazing beaches on the door step and walks for abilities. Many adventures to be had. You may be able to spot a White-Tailed Eagle or dolphin. The kitchen has every utensil you will ever need and the owners make you feel very welcome in their house.

Fabulous house in a stunning location
Mayar bhan is a fabulous house with amazing views. All rooms were immaculate, very bright and spacious, plenty room for 6 people to spread out in. The house was very well equipped with everything you need. All appliances were very good quality and more than Catered for our needs. The showers were brilliant and very powerful. Local area was beautiful with lots of things to do and see, especially as we were so lucky with the weather. The night skies were just amazing, we lay out on a couple of nights just watching all the shooting stars and satellites going overhead. Neil was an excellent host and replied promptly to any queries we had before, during and after our stay. Can’t recommend this house highly enough, we loved it and will definitely be retuning to mayar bhan.

A lovely place to stay-idyllic inside the house and outside in the garden.
A very well equipped place to stay in beautiful surrounds, both inside the house and outside in the garden. We were blessed with great weather, but would anticipate that we'd have had a great time whatever the weather. The views are magnificent. A very peaceful location. Plenty of great walks both close by and further afield. A day trip to the Isle of Skye is manageable. We hope to come again.

A superb house,well equipped and comfortable
The location is perfect for touring the northwest of Scotland and family friendly sandy beaches are close by but the views from the house are so amazing that travelling about wasn’t really necessary.

Paradise
Mayar Bhan is, without doubt, a little bit of paradise. We booked a week for a break with our Son, Daughter and Daughter's partner. The accommodation is perfect, plenty of room so that you can have your own space and a stunning view. We went out and about, from Achmelvich to Applecross, Flowerdale falls to Mellon Udrigle and although that was all breathtaking, I think we all agree that our highlight of the week was turning up at Mayar Bhan and seeing the fantastic vista. Usually, when you book a holiday the marketing images can often exaggerate the look and space of what you are booking. Not so with Mayar Bhan. It has surpassed all our expectations. It is certainly good for the soul, I would say that Mayar Bhan is an experience and not just a holiday let. Although my Hubby and I are both retired (early, I might add 😃) the 3 youngsters all work really hard and being confined, working from home during lockdown has been quite stressful. This break has been just what the Dr. ordered. Neil, the owner, is the perfect host. Due to Covid restrictions, we had to move our booking, then cancel and finally managed to rebook. Throughout all of this Neil has been very helpful and understating. We will most definitely be back!

Luxury house in a stunning location
Our eighth stay in this area of Scotland but our first in this lovely property. Neil (the owner) is attentive but unobtrusive. The area is excellent for wildlife watching and long walks. We saw seals, dolphins and otters from beaches located within 10 miles radius. House excellently equipped for self catering but also there is easy access to local cafes and restaurants. Local shops excellent for everyday essentials. Stunning picture postcard views all along the North Coast 500 route.

Wonderful holiday home in a great location
We had a wonderful stay in Mayar Bhan on the first week of June 2019. The house offers great views from literally every room! It is obviously well cared for, and very clean and tidy. Great walks all around Laide! Can't wait to go back. Renee and Daniel from Montreal, Canada

To keep the kids entertained, there is Laide, Gruinard and Mellon Udrigle beaches nearby plus many more in the area; a public swimming pool in Poolewe and leisure centre, horse riding and pitch 'n' putt in Gairloch. If you are interested in wildlife, there are Sea Eagles on Gruinard Island, Whale & Dolphin Watching at Mellon Udrigle, wildlife cruises from Gairloch, and lots of deer and birdlife. If you are looking for outdoor activities there is mountain biking; some great hills, mountains and beaches to walk, and sea fishing. If you are interested in the flora and fauna, there is Inverewe Gardens at Poolewe (National Trust) and the Beinn Eagh nature reserve. In addition, there is a wide variety of cafes and restaurants in the area such as the Old Inn, Mountain cafe and The Sheiling in Gairloch; the Badachro Inn; the Bridge coffee shop in Poolewe, and the Drumchork and Aultbea hotels in Aultbea. The garage in Laide (1 km) has a good selection of groceries; Aultbea (5 km) has a grocer and butcher, and Gairloch (22 km) has a further selection of shops for groceries and provisions.
