Interaction with guests
Our housekeepers will clean the cottage just before your arrival and leave the door open, with the key just inside on the table - that way you can relax the minute you arrive. They live two minutes away across the footbridge and are always on hand if you need anything, day or night. They may well pop across to make sure everything is to your satisfaction but mostly will leave to in peace to enjoy your stay with no intrusion.

This was our 5th visit to the most beautiful coastal village of Staithes. Without a doubt these Fishermans Cottages are the Best in every way. We have found our perfect holiday cottage/s. Life is timeless in Staithes. Its like a step back in time. A slower pace of life. But with all the mod cons. WiFi worked a treat, keeping...

Management response:

Lisa! Thank you for singing the praises of not only our cottages but the village too. Your thoughtful comments are much appreciated and you really capture the spirit of Staithes. Thank you! We are delighted you've booked again and look forward to welcoming you - Jackie

We walked past this cottage last October when visiting Staithes for the day and were so taken with its location that we booked to stay for a week in March. The cottage itself is full of character with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed, with a number of artists views of Staithes on the walls. Sitting at the little...

Management response:

Delighted to read your wonderful review - thank you. We have tried to preserve the character of the cottage so it's still in keeping with the quaintness of Staithes itself, and we love to celebrate the many wonderful artists who have painted in the village, many of whom have stayed here for the view. We hope you will come and...

Booked this lovely cottage for birthday treat, once we walked in we felt at home. Cute cosy comfortable and quaint is the way we describe this georgeous cottage even our dog made himself at home straight away. So close to bottom of staithes and the views stunning from the cottage. Added bonus 1 parking space. It was warm from the...

The ceilings are beamed and low in the cottage and we would advise anyone over 6 feet to book our cottage next door instead - apart from ceiling height, it's pretty much the same...

About the neighborhood
Staithes is a natural harbour where Roxby Beck meets the sea, surrounded by breathtaking coastal scenery. It's on the Cleveland Way with stunning walks either along the cliffs or inland. There's a sandy beach, a stony shore and piers for fishing.

Visiting Staithes is like stepping back in time. Picturesque, higgledy-piggledy cottages with red pantiled roofs are grouped around tiny yards, up steps, down winding cobbled streets or through a maze of alleyways - and clearly steeped in history. There's not much that hasn't sprung from the sea and fishing - even the houses are named after boats - Blue Jacket House, Star of Hope Cottage, Mizpah Cottage, Confidence Cottage, Unity House and Wavelet.
Car advised
How to get there
Railway: Saltburn: 6.2 mi
A car is best for exploring the whole area, however it is possible to arrive at Saltburn station and get a taxi down to Staithes. There are buses to Whitby and, of course, the walks along the Cleveland way.
Activities nearby
Fishing Nearby, Horse Riding Nearby, Watersports Nearby, Nearest Beach: 0.3 mi.
