Gort na gCapall luxurious self catering cottage is located less than 2 miles from the shores of Lough Derg in the heart of North Tipperary. Quite and peaceful, yet only 10 minutes from the large town of Nenagh which has easy access to all amenities including the farmers market and many excellent restaurants for eating out.
The cottage benefits from an open plan layout with al fresco dining on the patio. It is tastefully decorated with excellent facilities on site i.e. 3 flat screen TVs, DVD and CD player. Supply of DVDs or library of books to choose for on the rainy days or indeed a game of pool for the younger ones on our 6' pool table. We can also organise a cookery demonstration class locally where one gets to enjoy a glass of wine and eat the food - very relaxing.

We have just spent a week at Gort na gCapell cottage, visiting Ireland for a family wedding.
We all enjoyed it very much. The cottage has everything you could possibly need. It is surrounded by fields, a very peaceful location with superb views.
We especially enjoyed seeing the very well behaved cows in the fields. They always know when it is milking time and we would see them lined up going off across the fields to milking. A holiday we will always remember. The Cottage is spacious and easily accomodates everyone. We would highly recommend.

Christmas Retreat
This is our third time renting the house over Christmas and New Year. The house is an even more special place, with wonderful Christmas decorations all around. Upgrades to wifi, TV channels and Nespresso coffee machine since our last visit.
Looking forward to our stay. Thank you Janette.

Family reunion
This was a visit to bring my mum back to the Nenagh area where she was brought up as a child. The house was excellent for all my brothers wife’s and mum. Gort na gCapall is ideal for large family groups with plenty outside to walk around. All amenities are excellent and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Fab house in a peaceful location
We were so happy with this house, great kerb appeal & delivers everything you could hope for in a rental property inside, spacious living areas & bedrooms all tastefully furnished & v comfortable. Pool table proved a big hit with the children & us!!! Secure gardens for the children to play in with lovely countryside views providing a very relaxing peaceful location. We visited Dromineer Terryglass, Portumna & Obriensbridge from the house & were also v impressed with Nenagh Town Park...large playground & park for a picnic. Would highly recommend this house we would happily return.

This is the place!
I wish I could give this “cottage” more stars!
Our host(ess) Jeanette was so accommodating and availed herself fully!
This charming and spacious house is set up with ample communal spaces and the most perfect upstairs that is fully equipped with a lounge area and the master bedroom.
The kitchen is perfect for cooking while looking out at the green pastures where the cows are sometimes grazing. The water pressure is so great (high praise from a New Yorker :)) and the fireplace kept us cozy warm (even though the house is so warm on its own).
Nenagh is an ideal location for a lot of sight seeing. Lough Derg is a couple of miles away, as is the town of Nenagh and the highway to Limerick! Ennis is an hour and a few and Shannon is a stones throw!
We are already planning our next visit and this is our place. We are planning on bringing more friends and family to share in this beautiful area and home.
If you are lucky enough, you may even get to meet Tony and Mary. They live across the road on the farm....and Mary makes the best cup of tea in all of Ireland.
If you want to feel like you’ve found a home away from home, THIS IS THE PLACE!

I want to move here.
If you want to take a trip to Ireland and relax and/or tour the country this is the place to rent . The host here are wonderful and the house had everything you could ask for. Located on a working dairy farm the house and grounds are truly relaxing . If you want to explore, most of Ireland is reachable without much effort by car. If your staying put the town of Nenagh has some great butcher shops and a fish monger to get great fresh ingredients for dinner. Truly a 4 star rental.

AMAZING! Luxury Cottage! Great Value!
My mom, sister, and I spent two weeks at Gort na gCapall and had an AWESOME vacation! Jeanette and Stephen were amazing hosts! Their luxury cottage had everything we needed! We felt at home and we had plenty of room to spread out. Jeanette gave us many suggestions of the things to do in the area that we loved! She was just a text away with answers to our questions. Stephen was kind enough to show us around their dairy farm where we watched milking at the milking parlour and it was great to see the pen of calves. Everywhere we went the locals knew us and referred to us as the "new girls" at the Seymour house! We booked their cottage a year and a half before our vacation based on the beautiful pictures and Jeanette's great communication. The cottage was even better that we expected! It was centrally located for our day trips to Kilkenny, Cliffs of Moher, Rock of Cashel, Adare, Ballina, Galway, Kildare. Portumna, Lough Derg, and the many castles. We would not hesitate to come back because we were treated like family! Thank you for opening your amazing home to our family!
