Beachcombers is located on an elevated site on the shores of the Cooley peninsula, enjoying breathtaking sea and coastal views for miles, ranging from Dundalk bay up as far as the Dublin coast and over to the Mourne mountains in Co. Down.
Situated five miles from Carlingford and within an hour’s drive of Dublin and Belfast. It is an ideal base for discovering the magic of the Mournes, the Boyne Valley and Newgrange amongst many others – Templetown blue flag beach is within walking distance.
BEACHCOMBERS COTTAGE:

Beachcomber's Cottage a wonderful place to stay.
Top class, spotlessly clean, very comfortable accommodation, located right on the beach. Very private, but just a few minutes drive from all amenities. Excellent location for touring Co. Louth and the Mourne Mountains area. Lots to do - equestrian, adventure centre, sailing, hill walking, golf.
Brilliant hosts made us really welcome and pointed us to probably the best fish shop in Ireland!
Would certainly go back there for another holiday.

Great Week
We already stayed 6 times in this nice cottage nest to the sea. Coming to this cottage is always like coming home. The hous has a great view over the Sea all across to Dundalk and the coastline. There is always a very warm welcome with fresh homemade scones and homemade jam. Also the cottage is nicely decorated and very clean and neat. You can always go to the beach on a privat path and find you will find it nice and quiet. Also there are a lot of nice Restaurants and Pubs around where you can have diner or a drink. If you want you can cook yourself in this nice big kitchen with great view. You will find good shopping placeses in Dundalk and Newry and a lott of other interesting Locations to go to. You should have a car to get around. We enjoy always our weeks in this house no matter what time of the year.

Beautiful house, Beautiful location
Ideal location to get away from it all. Scones and homemade jam on arrival, spotlessly clean house, fresh milk and butter in the fridge, everything you need to light a fire.. and WiFi! From when you first step into the house, its like a home away from home. The views are fabulous, and although the beach below is stony, sandy beaches are only a stones throw away (pardon the pun). Will definitely be returning for a longer stay.

Fantastically situated cottage with every comfort you could need
We had a great time here at Beachcombers cottage. The booking and arrival was made very easy due to the v. friendly and helpful proprieters, who couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome.
Tha cottage is in a beautiful situation - just a short walk down onto the beach - and with amazing views over the sea right from the front door! Inside - everything was clean and furnished to a high standard which made for a happy, comfortable stay.
We enjoyed exploring the beach right by the cottage, but also enjoyed the easiness of getting to the Cooley Mountains, Mourne mountains, Carlingford and found it easy to visit Belfast too. The owners gave us some good ideas for eating out too - some lovely food to be had!
All in all - a happy and memorable holiday.

Better than the pictures!!!!!!
We are currently staying at this wonderful property, arrived here yesterday and we stay until next weekend. It is truly lovely, beautiful views of the sea in front and mountains behind us.
The pictures used to advertise it really do not do it justice.
The cottage itself is clean, light and warm.
The owner is very helpful.
I am happy that I am here for another 6 days/7 nights.

Great location...great cottage!
Myself and my wife were lucky enough to spend a relaxing week in Beachcombers cottage. We found the cottage superbly maintained with all the latest mod cons including broadband. The cottage is very comfortably furnished and even has a stove fireplace which makes it all the more cozy during the evenings.
Other factors that made our stay even more enjoyable was the private access walkway down to the beach, which was great for some morning beach walks & the fact that within 10-15 minutes driving we were in the beautiful Carlingford town for lunch or an evening meal.

Really lovely cottage in beautiful situation right next to sea and so quiet !
We were made very welcome and the cottage was immaculately clean. The owner looked after any need we had. The property is in a very quiet situation and very private, not even aircraft noise! The people in the area are very friendly and the Cooley Peninsula is a beauty spot in itself.

Great location if you like views and peace and quiet and wildlife
This spacious cottage sits on the cliff top of a very interesting beach. It has a private path down to what is a very stony beach but great for beach combing and bird watching. (Walking boots were good to have) There is a sandy beach further along which can also be walked to fairly easily (this was good to swim in)
The views of the sea on one side and the mountains behind are stunning. The cottage is at the end of a lane and there were rarely any other people on this bit of beach so the calm and stillness of the location were not disturbed. Carlingford itself is a good town and the Lough is beautiful. It was good for exploring the ancient cairns and also mountain walks with streams and fantastic views. The landlord was very friendly and helpful.

Lovely cottage & great location
Beach Combers Cottage is situated in a beautiful setting in Templetown overlooking the sea. We were a party of 5, my husband & I, our two boys (8 & 11) and my father who has limited mobility. We located the cottage on google maps and used these directions to find the property but had previously received directions from the owner, Harry. It took just over an hour from Dublin ferry port to the cottage. We met Harry a couple of times when he checked that we had everything we needed and he was very friendly and informative.
We found the cottage to be fully equipped and the layout was ideal for our family. We used many of the kitchen facilities as we had a number of home cooked meals and made use of the dishwasher, washer and tumble dryer. We ate regularly at the dining table in the kitchen/diner and its a shame that you can't look directly out to sea from the table as the view is obscured by some very hardy plants/bushes located along the cliff top fencing, but these are essential to protect the property from the high winds that we experienced.
At the end of the property there is a gate that leads down to the beach, initially rocky but then sandy further along the coast. We had some very pleasant walks along the beach and circled back to the cottage along the lanes.
We also visited the Titanic Museum in Belfast and Dun A Ri Forest Park , Kingscourt, both of which allowed access for my dad in his mobility scooter.
We had a lovely week and hope to go back to Ireland again in the future.

Erholung pur!
Nach zwei wunderschönen Wochen im Beachcombers Cottage in Templetown mussten wir heute schweren Herzens unsere Koffer packen. Nächstes Jahr kommen wir wieder! Das Haus liegt am Hang mit einem privaten Durchgang zum steinigen Templetown-Strand. Beachcombers Cottage ist wunderbar aufgeteilt und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet! Der Blick aus dem Fenster oder Garten - einfach unbezahlbar! Mit dem Auto 10 Min. von Carlingford entfernt, und überall kann man wandern!
