Cute Glamping, Unprovoked Unprofessional and won’t own up to it Owner, Dee Dee.
Before arrival:
- Offered accommodations next to each other
- Allowed us to check 20 minutes early
Cabins:
- Cute, clean, comfortable
- Nature but not too rustic for us city folk
- Tons of walking sticks, mantis and other bugs to see
- Painting rocks was fun
DeeDee, the owner:
- Upon seeing our group of 3/5 black customers her demeanor change
- Yelled our to black customers “whose this” as we strolled along the property which was encouraged by owner
- Lied and said kids weren’t allowed due to “insurance” and it’s “all over her website” but she’d allow it this one time since we already stayed one night.
- After we texted her what her website actually said she replied this-
“But you never disclosed a child was traveling with you.
Otherwise a cot would have been provided and an extra charge added.
Neither was done.
I know perfectly well what my website says and clearly you asked for many favors - pods together , which I did for you. You originally booked Otis and Ted. Which the other guest had to move. You asked for early checkin , which I did.
So I wouldn’t push this issue if I where you. I let it go , and so should you.”
Seems a little hostile and we feel the change for accommodating and hospitable to over assertion of dominance and untruthfulness was in direct response to having black patrons.
To account, I’m white and could feel Dee Dee’s attitude shift.
Too bad as we enjoyed the cabins and had talked about coming back at future dates up until this point.

Its very unfortunate that assumptions are made when they had not paid for or disclosed the extra guest,, a grown child that put the capacity over two per pod. Rules are put in place for a reason , and need to be respected. That is all it was. We are a diverse community and embrace all who arrive .

It was great till we met the owner
We rented 2 pods for Friday and Saturday. I booked over the phone and she had stated that their were 2 open pods, but they weren’t next to each other. Someone had booked the one in the middle, but she offered to ask them if they would be willing to stay in a different one so we can have 2 next to each other. That was very nice of her to offer.
The pods were adorable and clean.
Everything was fine until we went to the 5pm animal feeding on Saturday and the owner saw that 3 of us were black. We had a 4 year old with us and she stated that kids weren’t allowed in the pods because her “insurance doesn’t cover it.” She said it’s stated all over her website that kids aren’t allowed. However, the website clearly states that kids under 2 are free and that roll away cots for kids are available upon request. We didn’t need the roll away cot as the 4 year old was able to sleep in the bed with 2 adults. When I texted her on Sunday to point out that fact she responded very rudely. See below:

We had planned on returning to this place in the future, but after her micro aggression, condescending attitude, lies, and unprofessional conduct we will not be returning.

Hiding in Style
Hello, we both hit Covid 19 burn out about two weeks ago and decided to Social Distance in Eureka Springs.
Iris Hill Glamping was our choice as it is a smaller grouping of POD style cabins nestled into the Arkansas woods. The hilltop location is literally 10 minutes from many local restaurants and attractions.
We drove up on Friday after work and were pre checked in.
Our POD, “The Ted” had lights on and was a beacon in the night summoning us for three days of rest and relaxation.
The Ted has everything you need to just slow down and recharge.
Offerings include: Coffeepot, refrigerator/freezer, cups, glasses, microwave, placemats, coffee & tea, etc. There is a TV with many channels and internet if you need it.
We spent as much time on the front porch by the fire pit as we did inside, just reading or eating dinner by the fire pit.
Each POD has its own private bath with its own climate control. There is ample room to clean up after a day of hiking, biking or just reading outside.
Iris Hill is located hilltop in a wooded area, so you will hear many bird calls and potentially see wild deer in the mornings. There are other animal offerings here, but our goal was self distancing, so we did not go visit the Goats, Horse or the Donkey.
When you decide to leave Iris Hill, we recommend Black Bass Lake for a short hike, Thorncrown Chapel and Blue Spring For easy outdoor social distancing. There are also mountain biking trails at Lake Leatherwood.
Eureka Springs the town is OPEN!
We urban hiked through town from Spring to Spring and were not crowded. The city parks department has all the Springs beautifully planted with all types of flowering plants. People were social distancing, but we would recommend a mask while in town.
Food offerings were varied and curbside at the time of this visit.
Cafe Amore, Sweet & Savory, LaFamillia Mexican, Rocking Pig, and others like Subway are open.
Hart’s is the local grocery, and Walmart is in Berryville.
We lucked out and the Iris were blooming on Iris Hill.
We WILL be back again as this is a perfect get away.

Camping in Style!
Dede was an amazing host! The pods are absolutely adorable and have everything you need to "glamp" in style. While you're there, be sure to meet the animals on site! They're very friendly and love the attention. Located just 10 minutes from Eureka Springs, it's the perfect place to stay get the full outdoor experience. We went for a girls trip and plan on making in an annual tradition!

Best Getaway Trip!
I could not recommend this place enough. The description is spot on, but the images would be impossible to be able to truly capture the charm of the pods. Super clean, amazing hosts, the animals are a great addition. I couldn’t ask for anything more, and will most definitely be back!

Amazing girls weekend!!
My best friend and I decided to goto eureka springs for a girls getaway. When deciding on a place to stay we were immediately drawn to the Ted Pod. This was an amazing experience. We were met by the owner and given a great walk through of the property. While we were chatting with the owner a couple of dogs that wander the property greeted us, they are adorable and super friendly. The property has many rescued animals such as goats and lambs. It was a truly unique experience that I can not recommend enough. The area is quiet and about 10 mins for downtown Eureka Springs.

Great Experience
My husband I loved our stay at Iris Hill. We stayed in the Ted pod and it had all we could ask for... comfortable bed, storage, coffee, even a hand-held mirror so I could sit outside and put on my makeup while watching the deer and chipmunks scurry around. It was private and a welcome change from hotels/motels. I highly recommend this place and hope to return this fall when the leaves change color. Wonder experience!

Spectacular
We could not have asked for a more perfect weekend! The Ted pod was absolutely spotless and smelled so fresh! The bed is amazingly comfortable. Sitting out on the deck at night looking up at the stars was so relaxing. Our own personal fire pit was very enjoyable. I absolutely love the separate bathroom pod and was surprised by the size of the shower! Very large and roomy!
Iris Hill glamping absolutely will be our go-to destination every time we pass through Eureka! Jan and Dede are such gracious and friendly hosts. We will return to Iris Hill frequently.

Cutest camping ever!
These amazing pods are by far the cutest invention in glamping! The location is spectacular! The setup makes you feel Serene and peaceful. Having a separate private bathroom pod if such a unique idea ... the pods are cozy and extremely clean. I love the fire pits on the porch of each pod, they provide the campfire experience everyone loves!
The location is so convenient to town yet so private and secluded. The grounds are amazing with cute little artsy nature decor. There's an abundance of Wildlife you can view from your private porch as well as and Incredibly cute donkey, miniature horse and twin goats! I absolutely love this place! The price is so affordable, I will never stay in a hotel in Eureka Springs again! The Proprietors are extremely professional and an absolute joy to get to know!
