Spectacular - House is a work of art
The house is amazing. We were greeted by fresh flower arrangements in all the rooms including bathrooms. Very well decorated, beautiful art throughout the house. Very clean and well appointed, there is nothing lacking in the very well stocked kitchen, there must be place-settings for at least a hundred. We chose to do the adventure package which included snorkeling, fishing, a private tour of Corcovado National Parks and Kayaking (which we ended up skipping and went to the beach instead) and chef service for breakfast and dinner. The chefs were very good, great food all week. Staff was exceptional, daily maid service was much appreciated. Every morning I enjoyed my coffee watching Toucans and the occasional group of Capuchin monkeys swinging through the trees heading down to the beach. There are also howler monkeys which are pretty entertaining. House is very large with tons of sitting areas we had a group of 11 ranging in ages from 7-75. We chose to have airport pick up and drop off, it's a good 3 - 3 1/2 hour drive but roads are good.

Family vacation of a lifetime!
Casa Ramon exceeded our expectations in every way. Our large family group of 12 adults and 3 children were amazed at the beauty of this sprawling, stunning home overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The photos on the websites can't accurately depict how absolutely beautiful it was. The 3 hour trip from SJO was actually not bad at all. The highway was new and easy to navigate and the GPS took us right to the house. We took our time and were in awe of beautiful Costa Rica. The House Manager, Alberto, was very kind and accommodating. He even drove us to the grocery the first night and drove my husband and I and are little boy an hour away to a Clinic when he got an ear infection the first day. All of the wonderful reviews you've read are absolutely true. Fresh pineapples and coffee, etc. were waiting for us when we arrived. Gorgeous fresh flower arrangements were everywhere. The entire house was impeccable. Fresh towels and maid service daily. We had Chef dinners twice and they were delicious. The only recommendation I would make is to choose something other than steak if you are used to grain-fed steaks like we are. Their beef is grass-fed and not nearly the quality you get in the States. Daily we were visited by Capuchin monkeys, Toucans, Parrots, the largest toad I've ever seen, and even a Mongoose. The rain wasn't a bother at all. It lasted for a few minutes in the evening and then cleared up. We went fishing for a full day with Capt. Mike and Johnny from Quepos Fish Adventures and landed a bunch of Grouper, Red Snapper and even a 100# Sailfish! We cooked up a huge feast that night in two of the kitchens. The L'Occitane products in the bathrooms were a nice touch! We ventured to two waterfalls - one we slid down into the natural pool below, and the other we swung from a rope like Tarzan and Jane. It was a fantastic experience. The roadside "Sodas" were everywhere and each one we tried was delicious. We visited Jolly Rodgers for good wings, only a few minutes up the mountain by the house in our 4WD (definitely get a 4WD in Costa Rica). We also visited Patrone's in Dominical three times because it was a great atmosphere and had the best Filet Mignon we have ever had (shipped in from the States), and the tableside ice cream was so fun to watch! The owner, Mike, was so friendly and accommodating, even making me soy ice cream tableside himself. We all had a heavenly experience at Alegria Spa in Dominical. Only $35 for an hour therapeutic massage and it was fabulous! The beaches near Casa Ramon were beautiful. The beach area that is steps down from the house was very pretty, but too rough to swim in, which an adventurous teenager in our group discovered when he was scraped against the rocks. We would love to come back to Casa Ramon - it was the perfect family vacation and was wonderful for everyone in our group from age 5-68! Thank you to the owner Jorge for his quick replies and to Alberto and the wonderful staff for making our vacation so special! Beautiful Villa in Rainforest Paradise
The villa is exactly as described and the pictures do not do it justice. We stayed in Casa Ramon for 7 days and had members age 3 all the way to 84. My initial contact with Jorge was always met with prompt responses and very honest answers. He always helped out with recommendations. The whole process of booking was very seamless. The villa is perfect in many aspects. Each portion of the house is separated by large outdoor living areas so everyone can have their own privacy but still be together. Each floor has a kitchen and living area. The first floor was perfect for the grandparents because it was designed to be handicapped accessible. The pool area is beautiful along with the immaculate grounds. This was by far the nicest villa we have stayed at. The next amazing thing about the villa is the staff. Alberto was so gracious. He took care of every need, and was always available when needed. We felt he went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we were taken care of. We learned quite a bit about Costa Rica from him. I would encourage future guest to engage with him. The groundskeepers and housekeeping staff always kept the house perfectly clean. We cooked on several occasions and they kept the kitchen spotless. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone and we will definitely be back for another stay.

luxury house with amazing jungle feeling
This house was the best place i have ever stayed on vacation. we traveled with two other families (6 adults and 7 children). the house is segregated so each family had their own space when they wanted time away. The pool was wonderful and the kids were in it nonstop. We had jungle visitors every morning with monkeys and toucans. A sloth visited the property while we were there. The on site manager was there for whatever we needed at any time. Having washer and dryer at the house made it easy to feel clean and comfortable every day. The hike down to the beach is not recommended as it was very physically demanding but we drove to several beaches in the area that were perfect! The property is incredible and i would recommend everyone to visit.

Beautiful vistas and exceptional accommodations
Casa Ramon is simply the finest villa we have ever rented. Alberto, the manager, was extremely professional and very willing to assist 24-7. The bedrooms were spacious and nicely furnished with very comfortable bedding. Our family of ten had absolutely no complaints. The views of the mountains and the Pacific from the overlook and outdoor patio will be remembered for years to come. The white face monkeys and Toucans kept us entertained. We also had some wonderful meals prepared by the chef and we have requested some of the recipes.

A Truly Luxury Jungle Get Away We Will Never Forget!
I am writing this review following the truly wonderful time we had at Casa Ramon during Thanksgiving week 2013. From the gorgeous home, beautiful interior decorations, relaxing patios and pool deck, to the sweeping jungle vistas falling away to the Pacific Ocean, Casa Ramon was a delightful oasis for our family over the Thanksgiving holiday. The decor and furnishings are very high end and each room has its own little unique twists which make exploring the massive property a treat! I can not speak highly enough about the staff at the house. They were friendly, professional, efficient, and did everything to make our stay comfortable. A small army would come in during the day when we were out doing activities and we would return to a spotless home with freshly arranged flowers all over the house. Alberto especially went out of his way to respond to small requests we made and to check up on us through the week without being overbearing. We cooked phenomenal meals in the five star kitchen each night, shopping for groceries in the nearby supermarkets. We ate as a big family out on the big patio table with candles each night and even ate a fish Thanksgiving dinner after a successful day on the ocean deep sea fishing.Everything you need to cook a wonderful meal is there. We loved blending up our own frozen drink concoctions every night to sip by the lit up pool as the sun set. There is a really cute hotel (Angel del Cuna) right by the house where we had a very tasty dinner one night too. The activities nearby are awesome! Our group did horseback riding to waterfalls, snorkeling at Cano Island, deep sea fishing, ziplining, and a jungle hike. We prearranged the activities before arriving, however the home staff will help you do it too. We rented two large SUVs at San Jose for the 3 hour drive from San Jose to Dominical. That was kind of a pain, but SO WORTH IT! Definitely go to Casa Ramon for a truly unforgettable family vacation!

This place is Perfection! The ultimate Holiday Getaway!
My wife and I decided to get married in Costa Rica and decided to stay at Casa Ramon for a week with our families. This gorgeous Villa is located in a nice private area. Very safe and secure and above all else the location was absolutely breath taking. We had Casa Ramon organize the transportation to and from San Jose airport and from the moment we landed it was seamless. The van drivers were waiting for us and the 3 hour ride to Casa Ramon was beautiful. Had a short stop on the way to grab a beer and use the bathroom so that was very considerate of the drivers. We arrived at Casa Ramon by about 3pm and were very warmly greeted by Efren, the man in charge of the Villa. Him and his staff helped us with all the bags to our rooms and gave us a tour of the whole villa. He even went out of his way to drive 2 of us down into Uvita (about 10-13 min drive) to pick up some drinks and snacks. He was at the Villa everyday so if we had any issues or questions he was more than helpful. We decided to have catered dinners 4 of the nights we were there as well as all our breakfasts and all I can say is the Chef Jhonathan was absolutely spectacular. Everybody in our group is still raving about how amazing the food was. I highly recommend him. This guy can give the Iron Chefs a serious run for their money. The villa staff were all very friendly and do not get in anyone's way. The whole week we were their I hardly saw them. The Villa itself is gorgeous. We rented out the whole villa including Casita Ramon which I highly recommend. Every bedroom had ample room and the outdoor areas were amazing to just sit and relax with a book and let the afternoon go by (which a lot of the people in our group did). The pool was lovely and the best part is that you can use it at anytime of the day or night. The grill area on the top floor was fantastic. We decided to buy some meats and fish in Uvita and all 14 of us hung out their one night. We did not feel cramped at all and it is a great hangout spot. The little lookout are was great, especially to watch the local birdlife. We saw 2 species of Toucan as well as a number of other bird species (I would highly recommend having a good camera). I would recommend renting a car during your stay. It made life a lot easier for us and gave us the freedom to do whatever we wished (Beaches, shopping, restaurants, etc..) I would highly recommend 2 particular things in the area: 1. Jolly Rogers Bar & Restaurant - Its right across the main road from Casa Ramon and a nice drive up the hill. Views are spectacular from this Bar/restaurant and his Hot wings are the best I've ever had, especially if you like them HOT!! 2. Ceviche from Playa Hermosa (about a 5 min drive down the main road to Uvita). This small shack by the beach had the best ceviche around!! All in all, I would not just recommend Casa Ramon to anyone, I would make sure that they go there! We had a hint of uncertainty about having a destination wedding but now...i think i left part of me at Casa Ramon in Costa Rica.

Absolutely Spectacular!
I stayed at Casa Ramon for 4 nights with my family on an inspection visit. My job is not to commend, but rather to give a fair critique, however, in this case Casa Ramon takes home all the prizes. 1. Rooms: the class and taste they decorated the place with is superb. Every detail has been taken care of meticulously - the mattresses are top of the line (that is one true measure of quality from where I am standing), the quality of the linens, the layout of each sleeping area has been done in a thought out way. The bathrooms are not just regular bathrooms, they all have details that make it unique from each other and extremely pleasant spaces. L' Occitane toiletries summarize the essence of the experience. 2. Decor: rustic/modern with high quality pieces, you can see details of taste such as the hand picked glass lamps, beautiful wall paintings, ample sofas, with solid tables and plenty of couch relaxing areas. Nothing is torn, nothing is dirty, everything in mint condition. 3. Unit: the house is divided into three floors. The spaces are very well distributed in that they are inclusive, yet private enough so you can manage your stay according to how social you wish to be. The Honeymoon Casita: is a little casita of the side of the pool that is private with its own kitchen and a beautiful four poster bed overlooking the ocean. But the most impressive thing of all was this: in a house of that size and caliber, where you can find 9 different wine glass types, and everything you could envision for your own kitchen (never mind a holiday kitchen!) has everything in perfectly working order. Many times, properties such as this will have many gadgets, and you get enthused until you try to use some and they are not in working order. Then the romance is gone...At Casa Ramon the maintenance crew does such a superb job, there isn't a single thing that does live in working order. What a vacation! I hope I have the chance to revisit.

Ultimate Honeymoon Hideaway
We had the entire property to ourselves for an entire week during our honeymoon. This really is the perfect place. Every ounce of the house is incredible. The rooms are gorgeous, the furniture is beautiful, and the view from the pool/lookout must be seen to be believed. I can't really describe how awesome it was to have this huge house all to ourselves (of course, they locked off the bedrooms we weren't using, but that's a non-issue). Also, the wildife viewing from the pool area is amazing. We saw more action in the "backyard" than we did on any of our jungle tours. During the day, toucans, aracaris, lizards, monkeys, racoons, parakeets, and squirrels. At night, toads, geckos, and some pretty crazy insects (outside of course!). A little rustic, a lot luxurious, and a mountain of romantic. Lastly, phenomenal service. The staff lives in a house out back. They give you all the privacy you want, but are nearby if you need them. We felt quite safe.

Casa Ramon is located in the South Pacific of Costa Rica in one of the most bio diverse locations on the planet. From Casa Ramon you can see Cano Island Marine Reserve on the horizon. Other reserves nearby include Corcovado National Park and Marino Ballena where you can find a wide variety of marine wildlife and experience first hand countless palm lined beaches that call surfers and beach combers from the world over for the best waves and breathtaking views. When you cross the bridge over the Baru River, just within the limits of Dominical, from the Baru River, go about 9 kilometers (5 miles) south on Route 34 (the Costanera Hwy) look for a sign for Hotel Cuna del Angel on the right side of the Costanera Highway.
