A Life Changing Vacation
Our trip to Sedona was everything that we hoped it would be, but our experience was tremendously enhanced by our stay at Sun Cliff. We both had high expectations of our accommodations, but we were absolutely blown away by this place! The amazing views alone were worth the trip, but the amenities were the icing on this beautiful cake. The space, the views, the layout, the bed, the shower (holy cow, the shower...) the outdoor bathtub, the hot tub, the outdoor fire pits... all of this added up to one great big immersion in the lap of luxury.
Our hosts, Tom and Kate, were very accommodating and very knowledge about the area. Every recommendation they made was spot on. We are already planning our next visit to Sun Cliff.

Pink Jeep sunset tour Grand Canyon
We spent the day walking the south rom and then ended the day with the pinkJeep sunset tour. It was phenomenal. Sam was the tour guide and was very knowledgeable. In addition he is a great photographer. He took excellent care of us. Book with Sam!

Your own private piece of heaven...
Even during a warm sunny Christmas week, we barely wanted to leave our favorite patio firepit (there are three fireplaces!) as we enjoyed breathtaking sunrises, sunsets, an unforgettable dinner personally prepared on-site by Chef Zenda, and that once-in-a-lifetime Jupiter-Saturn light show over the Sedona Valley. Kate and Tom literally hand you the keys to your own paradise framed by Cathedral Rock - which stands directly across the valley from your beautiful bedroom glass wall of windows. The peace here is intoxicating and as refreshing as the babbling creek flowing just below your house of respite. We will definitely be back!

Nothing else compares...
This was by far the most beautiful and peaceful vacation spot we have visited. The property is lovely, with a creek running through it, red rock all around you and the stars at night. Suncliff is absolutely stunning...inside is beautiful, with lovely artwork and artifacts. However, we spent the large majority of our time outside...fire pits and fieplace to enjoy, a large bathtub to share and a hot tub to enjoy the stars from. The sun rise and sun set on the red rock are breathtaking. Suncliff is close enough to enjoy the town of Sedona, but you may not want to leave the property...it is that special.

Peaceful Bliss
My husband and I spent five nights here in celebration of our 15th anniversary and could not be more pleased to have spent it here. This property just radiates peace. There are breathtaking views in every direction. The house is magnificent – we kept saying we felt like we were staying inside Architectural Digest. Sometimes the advertisement photos do not match reality, but at Sun Cliff the photos don’t do this property justice. Kate and Tom thought of every possible detail, from where to place the outdoor tub (you can hear Oak Creek while in the tub), to the detail in the kitchen counters, to the slippers and extra blankets for outside. They provide fresh ground coffee, daily snacks, water, items needed for hiking, toiletries, and even arrange services like massages (don’t skip this! Under the star light sky!). I cannot recommend this place enough. It is truly a private resort, so if you are looking to stay away from crowds due to Covid, or just looking for peace, this is your place.

Perfect retreat in the most beautiful setting
We enjoyed our stay at Sun Cliff tremendously! The setting is unbelievable - the little casita is perched on a cliff overlooking a breathtaking Sedona landscape. The home is well-appointed and has a lovely (and immaculately clean) hot tub with a view, an outdoor bath, and outdoor sitting/dining areas to relax and enjoy the scenery and bright night sky. The kitchen is fully equipped and Tom and Kate (the hospitable owners) attended to every other detail to make our stay truly comfortable. Sun Cliff is a truly private retreat, but still within a few minute's drive to grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, and (in our opinion) some of the most beautiful hikes in the country. We are very much looking forward to our next visit!

A once in a lifetime experience
An extraordinary experience! The setting and amenities are truly exceptional. I would book Suncliff over any 5 star resort in a heartbeat. The amenities and service are top notch and all to yourself. It is chic, cozy and with breathtaking views of the red rocks all around the house. My favorite part was the outdoor bathtub overlooking the red rocks. If you are looking for a memorable experience, this is a must! The hosts, Tom and Kate, are delightful and will make you feel at home and go the extra mile to accommodate your needs. Thank you again and can't wait to be back!

The most beautiful 2 person resort!
For our 50th wedding anniversary, we stayed at Sun Cliff in Sedona AZ. This has to be The most amazing place we ever stayed at. The views, of the red rocks, are spectacular! The casita is first class with a outdoor jacuzzi, outdoor soaking tub, outdoor shower, 2 outdoor fire places and 1 fire pit. For a romantic getaway, you must go here. The owners, Kate and Tom Joy, are the most wonderful hosts. They will arrange anything your heart desires. Dinners, tours, weddings, whatever you want. We can't wait to go back! So make your reservations, you'll love it!

Zen Luxury
My Husband and I were celebrating our 50th wedding Anniversary and we chose to stay at Sun Cliff Casita. I'm sorry we waited until our 50th we missed out on other trips to this Wonderful, Peaceful place. Kate and Tom are just about the best owners this Casita can have. Their attention to detail is glowing through the love they have for this property. And I would say what is not to love. The details and the furnishings are true to the Sedona area and people. I have never been a nature person but this place is so beautiful you can't help to enjoy every inch of this amazing scenery and environment. The property has all the indoor and outdoor amenities for any luxury seeker to be totally inspired. Tom and Kate make your visit extra special as well.

Sun Cliff at Red Rock Ranch is in rural West Sedona. The casita sits on it's own 24 private acres with Oak Creek access. Our casita is tucked back off the road, perched on a cliff with 180 degree views of Cathedral Rock and the surrounding valley.
Nature surrounds us and it is not uncommon to see black hawks soaring above the casita, javelina walking their trails near the creek, and hear coyote howls at night. Because we are rural, cell phone service is spotty. We provide a telephone in the casita with free long distance within the continental U.S.
Getting around
A vehicle is necessary when you stay at Sun Cliff. Uber/Lyft is available but limited in the Sedona area. We partner with MYE Jeep for off-road rentals and with Sedona Slingshot for CanAm and SlingShot rentals if you would like a few different ways to get around the beautiful red rocks of Sedona.
Sedona Trail Sports offers road bikes and trail bikes and there are many trails close by if you want to explore on foot.

Sedona is located approximately 115 miles north of Phoenix ( via I-17 N) or 29 miles south of Flagstaff ( via AZ-89A ). Most visitors fly into Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix (PHX) or McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas (LAS). We can assist in arranging a Private Charter flight to Sedona Airport (KSEZ)
If you choose not to drive to Sedona, we highly recommend renting a car or perhaps a Jeep. While the main areas of town ( West Sedona and Uptown Sedona) are within several miles of each other, some of Sedona's greatest attractions including stunning Oak Creek Canyon, the Verde Valley Wine Trail, and our legendary golf courses are further afield.
