Cottage
Snails' End Cottage is an owner run establishment, close to the sea and many walking areas. It is situated on a quiet street and is a five minute drive from the centre of town. Close proximity to restaurants, three golf courses, shark cage diving and whale sighting boat trips, as well as whale watching from the cliff path nearby. Our cottage is well equipped and all linen except for beach towels, is supplied, as well as complimentary guest tray, pillow chocolates, shower gel, hand soap etc.

Sehr gemütlich
Waren überaus zufrieden. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und mit viel Liebe hergerichtet. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und haben uns herzlich aufgenommen. Die Lage ist prima. Man fühlt sich sicher. Man kann zu Fuß zum Strand. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind nicht weit entfernt und Hermanus ist in 5 Minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen.

Wonderful cottage in Hermanus
This is a very cute cottage in a nice area. Penny the owner lives on the property and is there to offer help yet it is very private. Penny and Vim welcomed us on our arrival and as this was our first stop in South Africa we appreciated all the information they offered. They even made dinner reservations for us at Dutchies, a restaurant on the beach that was excellent. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend Snail's End to anyone visiting the Hermanus area.

Great place to stay when visiting Hermanus.
One of the best things about Snail's End was the position of the cottage in a safe area - Sandbaai - a ten minute drive to the centre of Hermanus and a very short walk to the ocean and lovely walks in both directions. We had three nights here and found the accommodation comfortable and clean with many lovely little extras. We loved our time viewing many whales and dolphins from the shore - just amazing!

Fantastic little cottage at an excellent location
My boyfriend and I booked Snails' End Cottage for a weekend away as a birthday treat. From the moment of contacting Penny, she was nothing but helpful, going out of her way to answer questions that I had about the area.
The accommodation is excellent value for money and was perfect for us and our dog. It was clean, bright and welcoming, with fresh towels and linen and even chocolates on the pillows. The hostess even left a birthday gift, a very kind personal touch.
The kitchen offers everything that one would need, and there is a nice terrace area with braai facilities.
Although a very short drive outside of the main town of Hermans, it is ideally located being just a stone's throw from a beautiful beach walk. It is situated in a quiet area with nothing but the sound of the ocean and wildlife.
We would definitely return.

About the neighborhood
Our cottage is in Sandbaai, which is a suburb of Hermanus, and we are about five minutes' drive from the centre of town, on a quiet street and very close to the sea, and a lovely walk along a paved path along the rocks to Onrus. Our neighbourhood is quiet and very friendly, and there is a local Superette and four fine restaurants very close by.

How to get there
Take N2 from Cape Town or airport, up Sir Lowry's Pass and down Houw Hoek Pass and take Hermanus R43 off-ramp. Keep on this road, past the Kleinmond turnoff, Fisherhaven, Hawston, Vermont and Onrus. At the Sandbaai intersection traffic lights, turn right onto Sandbaai Main Road. Go down to the second four-way stop (at Sandbaai Superette) and turn right - follow road around the bends and at the five-way stop take the 3rd exit (from left), turning right into Disa Street. Over the stop street and at T-junction drive straight onto our property - No 17 West End Street.
