The complex has a stunning seven story interior atrium and luxurious fittings throughout. It also boasts a gym and an indoor, heated pool. De Waterkant is the trendiest neighbourhood in Cape Town and one of the most exclusive. The apartment enjoys an enviable location in the heart of the city without actually being in the CBD. From the apartment, you can easily walk to most major attractions of Cape Town. The CBD is just a couple of blocks, The V&A Waterfront (shops, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and Robben Island) is only minutes away, and there's an excellent supermarket across the road. The CTICC (Convention Centre) is nearby. You can easily walk to the new Cape Town Stadium and Cape Quarter’s lively restaurant and café scene is just one block away. If you have a car, the apartment has an assigned, underground secure car parking space with lift access into the building. Security is of the highest standard at the Rockwell with 24hr security and a 24hr staffed front desk. WiFi is included. It's fast, fibre internet. The apartment is privately owned and is managed by a high-end corporate agency who only deal with luxury rentals. They will meet all guests on arrival at The Rockwell and do all possible to ensure your stay in Cape Town is amazing. They also provide a complimentary weekly housekeeping service. I'm more than happy to offer guests tips on the area and can recommend some amazing restaurants (that you'll need to book ahead for). * Please note that this is a private apartment in The Rockwell building and is not part of the excellent Rockwell All Suites Hotel & Apartments. Geräumiges Appartement mit Tiefgarage in einem Hotelkomplex in sicherer Gegend
In der Waterkantarea gelegenes, gepflegtes Appartement im 5. Stock, mit Balkon nach NW, vollständiger Küchenausstattung und Duschbad/WC, AC, etwas kleinem Schlafzimmer ,TV,freiem Internetzugang.Sichere Anlage und sicherer Garagenzugang.Leider war zum Mietzeitraum teilweise Baulärm von einer nahegelegenen Baustelle zu hören. Bei Rückfragen antwortete die Besitzerin prompt per mail und war äusserst hilfsbereit. App.übergabe bei An- sowie Abreise klappten vorzüglich.Danke nochmals!

Great Location and Comfortable Stay
Located on the 5th Floor of the Rockwell Apartments Unit 516 is a really great place to stay. Centrally located in the area called De Waterkant it is a 2 minute walk to a excellent shopping centre including supermarket, with numerous excellent restaurants and cafes 1-5 minute walk from the apartment. Adjoined to the complex are several restaurants, bars and a bar/pub if you just don't feel like heading out far to dine. The apartment is 1 bedroom .. not huge but the bed is really comfortable Bathroom is clean and adequate and living area and balcony face west so receive heaps of afternoon sun. The view from the balcony is lovely. The kitchen is well stocked but we never really used it but if you decided to eat in it would work fine. Wifi is included and strong. Clean and tidy throughout. The owner provides a terrific guide to the apartment and things to do in Capetown. We took several recommendations which were excellent. She is a great communicator and really helpful which makes your stay here more enjoyable. If back in Capetown we will stay again. Highly recommended.

Great location, close to everything.
Loved our stay here. We found the accommodation comfortable, secure and private. The proximity to the V&A Waterfront, restaurants, shops etc. was great. Secure parking an added benefit. The unit itself was fully equipped with all that was required in terms of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils - conducive to self catering if required. Very comfortable bed - very important. Private balcony with views. Will book again when next visiting Cape Town.

Highest Recommendation-Great Flat.
I did a lot of research before deciding to rent this apartment. Its a beautiful well appointed flat in an excellent location and one would be hard pressed to do better. One top of all of that is dealing with Jenny, the host. Not only is she incredibly responsive and delightful, but honest. In the end, I was unable to come for personal reasons, she was extremely kind and understanding. I can't really say enough about renting with her.

Nice apartment with good location
First I will begin by saying that the owner Jenny, was a pleasure to deal with. Her communications were first rate and she provided all relevant info needed. The apartment was exactly as was shown in the photos and for the most part had all that was needed for a comfortable stay. I enjoyed the area and ease of finding restaurants, walking to other areas and the Spar supermarket was also just across the street. My only complaint lies in the way the apartment is set up. The bedroom is in the front and is directly on the atrium access way. I happen to be a lighter sleeper, so people coming off the elevator and talking while walking to their apts disrupted my sleep a few times.

Wow!
I stayed at the 516 Rockwell from early March to mid-April. Jenny was extremely flexible and responsive with my booking as I had to get final word from my employer about my trip's duration. Payment was easy. The apartment beat all my expectations. The place was extremely well maintained and clean with modern furniture and all imaginable amenities (washer/dryer, satellite TV, WiFi, safe, etc.). The view from the balcony is absolutely stunning with Signal Hill to the left, Cape Town Stadium straight ahead with Robben Island in the horizon and the Waterfront and the harbor to the right. The Rockwell is part hotel, part apartment building. You have access to all amenities of a hotel including a fitness center with a pool as well as several bars and restaurants right in the building. They even offer room service. Access is extremely secure, the apartment has a dedicated parking spot. The de Waterkant neighborhood is lively and vibrant. The SPAR supermarket is just up the road and several great restaurants are within walking distance. Downtown Cape Town, including Long Street's bars and clubs are 10 minutes away. The MyCiti bus to Green Point, Camps Bay and Hout Bay leaves from Somerset Street in front of the hotel and the V&A Waterfront is easily accessible. All in all a wonderful stay and I cannot wait to return.

We landed in the right spot
Not knowing much about Cape Town, I booked this place because another two bedroom flat was not available for the whole two weeks. It turned out to be a good location, and the fact that this apartment was in a building that was part hotel, part residence was ideal. Although we were not paying through The Rockwell, the name of the hotel, people at the desk were extremely helpful with our questions about the area, getting around, etc. The flat itself was very comfortable, if a bit noisy. We had a balcony overlooking a gas station, and with the windows open, it seemed noisy most of the night. The bedroom was further back in the flat, and was fine for sleeping. The owner had kindly left us some basic supplies, and while the walk into the Waterfront was circuitous, it was only about 15 minutes. Since the weather in Cape Town is generally lovely it was not a problem at all. There are a couple of great restaurants, Beluga and Gold right down the street. WE always felt safe, but my friends' daughter was robbed (she is studying at the University of Cape Town) recently, so I strongly recommend not going out alone, especially at night.

I have been to this apartment Over the years it's fabulous very central beautiful furnishings truly helpful staff. There are 4 restaurants in the courtyard it's right opposite the cape quarter so all in. All a great place to holiday

Comfy & modern in a fantastic area
I stayed in this de Waterkant apartment for two weeks in July. I was there without my husband so I loved how secure the building was, not to mention how close it was to everything I needed. It's right across the road from the Cape Quarter which has a Spar, bottle shop, various cafes, hairdresser, banks etc. Not to mention the fact that the building has a bar and restaurant too. The apartment itself is cosy modern and bright and even has a small bathtub. I personally loved the day bed on the verandah and spent many hours in the sun there each afternoon. There is a heated lap pool and a small but adequate gym as well. It's also a great location if you want to go out running. The owner was fantastic and really made sure I was at home and looked after. The whole stay was seamless and I would most certainly go back here if I was in Cape Town again.

I usually use Uber It's approx R7-11/km Taxi Services Taxis are relatively cheap in Cape Town. About R10/km. Best to call one, and have them pick you up at the Prestwich Street entrance. I suggest InterCab, Excite Taxis or Rikkis

How to get there
I'd suggest Uber, a taxi or a city shuttle service from the airport if you're not hiring a car. Self-drive directions from the airport Follow the N2 (direction Cape Town). Keep following signs towards stadium, Waterfront and Sea Point. Just after you pass the hospital, a big Virgin Active and the CTICC, get into the middle lane. The road will become Buitengracht Street. Stay on Buitengracht Street and go through the first 2 traffic lights. At the third traffic light take a right onto Somerset Road Then the second right turn onto Alfred Street. The Rockwell is situated on the corner of Prestwich and Alfred Streets.
