Great location a short 5 minute drive from all the cafes and restaurants in the centre of Hoedspruit and great communication from the owner Annette in the run up to our stay. A huge wilderness area to explore as part of the estate but to be honest if you are looking for wildlife you are better off staying put on the veranda and waiting for it to come to you. The hornbill couple who think the place is there own, gave us many moments of amusement (you may want to use the garage to store the hire car as they like bashing at their reflections in the window) and Nyala grazed in the garden on a daily basis. We also saw lots of lizards and geckos as well as one tiny scorpion. And there is a Male warthog on the road between the house and the main entrance as well as gui ea fowl ofcourse. I'm sure if we had spent more time at the house we would have seen a lot more. You can horse ride and bike in the wilderness area as well as walk. (Amd drive if you ha e high clearance) The house itself is HUGE and was spotless on arrival. Very private. Powerful showers with plenty of hot water. Lovely toiletries and lots of towels. All the appliances worked brilliantly. Good quality tableware and plenty of it which makes a change. Pretty much everything you would need. Although my son would have loved scales to weigh out his coffee 🙄. Although Annette was so responsive I'm sure if we had asked she would have either told us where they were located or arranged for some. But I told him he could manage for one week. LOVED the courtyard outdoor area to dry clothes although there is a tumbe dryer which it's not a bad idea to finish of clothes in due to ticks (ten minutes in the dryer usually does it although no Lyme disease in RSA but tick bite fever could still ruin your holiday). We always tried to be home for sunset as its glorious on a clear day watching the colours as the sun goes down against the backdrop of thr mountains. The solar battery system made a massive difference to the comfort of our stay as we were there during daily load shedding (planned power cuts, look it up as can be very disruptive to your holiday). Les was great at sharing the loading shedding schedule as well as other updates via WhatsApp. We were disappointed not to enjoy the house more as we were out most days visiting Kruger or neighbouring reserves. Definately use Annettes detailed suggested route from O R Tambo as there are some challenging roads surrounding the area. And best to avoid doing that journey in the dark. The pot holes on one stretch are challenging and around Dullstroom it can be very foggy. If you have hail as a we did, it makes that stretch even more treacherous and that was during the day with someone used to South African roads and drivers. Great Airbnb which I would 100% highly recommend to others.

A beautiful home, excellent location, expect to see wild life when you wake up in the morning and through out the day. Luxury living in the wild. Very close to Hoedspruit with all the services you need👍Kruger national park 45 mins away, wild life park on site. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool before enjoying sundowners watching the sun set over the Drakenberg Mountains ❤️

Thanks for a lovely stay, very comfortable and well furnished bush lodge Situated in a private residential estate but yet somewhat private but still close enough to civilization Comfortable bedding, perfect home away from home (especially having access to Netflix was a great surprise) but the kitchen is very well equipped, linen is clean and provided towels are incredibly luxurious Estate is good to cycle, especially the game viewing on MTB, nothing crazy so good for entire family, 14km loop around internal perimeter so doing it back to front with internal game routes give you a good 60km + ride Dec is hot, I know, it’s ridiculous hot but we felt that the air conditioner provided is not sufficient for the room sizes so keep this in mind when planning your trip Recommended, Absolutely Yes.

What a lovely place! Tranquil, restful and just what we were looking for. The setting was perfect and the house was well laid out and user friendly. The beds and the pillows were incredibly comfortable and everything was crisp and spotlessly clean. To have inquisitive wildlife on the doorstep (literally) was a wonderful experience.

We had a wonderful time in Nkanyi House. It is a very confortable, beautifully decorated bush home. Nothing is missing in the house.... a real home away from home feeling. The bush around the house is beautiful and safe. The house is also very nicely situated, 10 mins away from the lovely town of Hoedspruit where you can find all kind of shops and lots of restaurants. Our host was incredibly helpful and very reactive. Everything has been thought of. It has been hard to leave this peaceful heaven... but we hope to come back soon!

The location is amazing! On the doorstep of Kruger National Park and Blyde River Canyon and not to mention the wildlife literally on the doorstop of the house! Conveniently close to Hoedspruit there were restaurants and grocery stores just 5 mins down the road. The house had absolutely everything we needed from cooking utensils to bathrobes. Particularly loved the 'rustic' outdoor shower combined with the very modern interior. We were welcomed and shown around the house and had someone to contact right away if needed. All the instructions regarding the house and also suggestions for what to do in the area were very useful and much appreciated. Built for entertaining, it's a great place to bring your family, a group of friends or just a getaway for two:)
