It sits in the most idyllic of locations, surrounded by acres of the owner's wooded valley and bound by the river Nevern along the edge of the garden grounds. You can enter the property through the quaint and charming stable door which greats you into the tiled entrance hallway, perfect for kicking off those wet waders after fishing, or muddy walking boots after a day experiencing the surrounding gardens and acres of woodland. To the right of the entrance hall is the beautifully built fitted farmhouse style kitchen which offers all of the modern facilities to encourage a blissful break away including a charming and large modern range, bringing the romance back into your cooking. Off to the left of the front stable door is a utility room tucking away the washing and drying facilities and the ideal place to hide away your outdoor attire. You can start relaxing from the moment you arrive with every attention to detail and all of the homely comforts you could need provided. Spanning the back of the property and straight through the entrance hallway you will find the heart of this cottage with a large open plan sitting and dining room which boasts ample space for every occasion. The focal point of the room is the solid oak eight seater dining table, which will make those family and friend gatherings all the more enjoyable. Each room has been lovingly decorated and furnished, with locally sourced antiques and original artist's paintings adorning the walls. The homely atmosphere continues across to the spacious seating area where everyone will be able to gather on the large sofas and enjoy the warmth from the original inglenook fireplace with free standing log burning stove. There is a further charming and spacious second sitting room with two large sofas and free standing log burning stove, perfect for those cosy evenings or a quiet retreat from the rest of the group. Each of these sitting and dining rooms has blissful views over the private lawn garden, you can step out from either onto the patio area dressed ready for those alfresco meals and its only a walk over the lawn to take you straight down to the river bank where you can enjoy a day's fishing. As you climb the wooden hills of an evening you will find four spacious en suite rooms in which to rest your head, each being as delightful as the next. The quality of the decor and homely touches continued throughout each beautifully laid out room, with quality solid wooded bed frames and luxuriously welcoming mattresses each covered in crisp white sheets and fluffy feather down pillows. The exposed beams nestled in the eaves add to the charm and character of each room with three of the double bedrooms having king sized beds and an en suite bath with separate shower. The fourth double bedroom has been laid out with a full sized bunk bed and an additional single bed, this room also has a separate en suite shower room.More

Interaction with guests
We like to make guests feel welcome from the minute they arrive at the house. In the cooler months, the underfloor heating will be on, a fire lit in the grate and a selection of lighting switched on. We try to meet and greet upon arrival but realise that travel plans can go awry and this is not always possible. We will endeavour to meet you at your earliest convenience, give you some hints and tips about the house and the surrounds then leave you to enjoy your holiday! Keys are normally kept in a key safe by the front door, an access code will be made available.

It was an absolute pleasure to have such appreciative guests who were brilliant communicators. We had a hiccup with hot water which was easily solved without me having to drop everything and check. Even more daffodils and other spring flowers out since their visit

How to get there
'Off the beaten track' best describes the valley. There is ample parking for half a dozen vehicles. The house is some 2.3 miles from the nearest village of Newport. The ferry terminal and train station at Fishguard Harbour are 11 miles away. The market town of Cardigan lies 9.5 miles to the North. During the Summer season, there is a coastal bus service - a boon for avid coastal path walkers. Throughout the year there is a local bus service through Newport to Cardigan, Fishguard, Haverfordwest and beyond.
