Mama Bau summit lodge is located on the mountain in Lao Chai village, Sapa, Vietnam. If you are finding a place to relax and experience local life, our house is a perfect choice. Our family is Black H’Mong – a minority ethnic group in Vietnam. Furthermore, the owner – Mama Bau – is a famous tour guide in the village who is so friendly, authentic and has a lot of experience in presenting the region to travelers from all over the world.
Stunning mountain view along with flowers and cute pets will make you feel calm and inner peace. Beside that, you can feel the sound of nature, the smell of flower, land, animals and smokes and feel how cool it is upon the mountain. Everything will make your experience in a countryside so real, so memorable.

An amazing way to experience real Sapa
I stayed with Mama Bau and her family for a total of 3 nights, only one of which I had another traveller staying with me. This is probably because it was low season.
To be honest it was a great experience. Mama Bau took me on a long hike through the rice paddies to some lovely waterfalls for a day. The family was fun to be around, especially at meal times , and I enjoyed the family dinner, which was always tasty.
If you are like me and want to explore Sapa for yourself and not hike for another day, you can borrow Muma’s motorbike to ride around for the day.
When it came to leaving, Muma Bau organised my bus trip to Ha Giang and her son give me a lift to the bus station.
It was an absolute pleasure staying with Mama Bau and the family and would recommend her homestay to anyone looking to see Sapa in the best way.
