This home stay is literally amazing! The destination is superb and there is a ocean nearby. The best home stay I have ever seen. Mr. Binod is so gentle, polite and hardworking. The hospitality is also impeccable! The facilities are also limited. There were no lapses. The rooms were very big and clean. The bathrooms are also having bathtubs. Garden has also a lot of coconut trees and it is well maintained. There is also a beautiful lush green plantation. There are two ham walks also! There is a fully equipped kitchen You can cook here! The ocean is very near so you can go there anytime. Seriously, should stay here and enjoy the nature. 5️⃣🌟 homestay!!

Staying at Binod and Raji's was perfect! Near enough to the busier, touristy Kovalam but far enough away to feel that I was staying 'off the beaten track'. A pleasant walk through the local and very friendly village along the shore footpath took about an hour. Raji created the most beautiful, delicious, freshly cooked, authentic Keralan breakfasts every morning which I enjoyed in the lovely outdoor eating area while looking out to sea and watching local life. They were simply the best breakfasts I have ever had in India! The room was spotless and cleaned throughout my stay. The most comfortable bed I have slept in, in India for sure. Choice of aircon or ceiling fans really helped when it became too hot. The area was quiet and in the heart of a local fishing village. It was lovely to hear the crashing waves at night or from the hammock right outside my room in the shade of the coconut trees. There was a local temple festival happening during my stay and I enjoyed hearing the morning chanting as well as the huge procession on the final night - elephants and all! Binod was really helpful with local information, arranged my pick up and drop off at the airport as well as rickshaw hire at other times for an incredibly reasonable price (local's price). The airport was close enough to be in bed within 90 minutes of landing from my night flight but not noisy or disturbed by flights etc at other times. A wonderful find and I would definitely stay again without hesitation.

Quite huge property at arm-length distance from Arabian Sea surrounded by Trees, with clean, spacious rooms and very big & hygienic bathrooms - what else you can expect at a homestay. The owner, Mr. Binod, is a genuinely good human being with all positive attributes of a host & the quality of food Mrs. Bionod made for us, was really superb. Main tourist attraction - Kovalam beach is within 5 km distance, Padmanabha Swamy temple & Main City is also within 10-12 km. distance. If you have a vehicle at your disposal, this cool homestay is the best choice. Otherwise, you have to disturb Mr. Binod, who is ever willing to take a pain for arranging a vehicle for your travel. I'll love to re-visit the place many more times.

We had a great experience of the Homestay. Our hosts made our time at Oceana really special, they looked after us well and took care of all our needs. The food Mrs Kumar cooked for us was trully delicious! We felt part of the family. The rooms were spacious and very clean, the villa is located within lovely, enclosed grounds. Oceana is so close to the sea you can hear the waves crashing day and night. Combined with the rustling of palm leaves this created a beautiful music backdrop to our stay. Thank you!

The last week of February 2017 in Kerala was already hotting up with an earlier than usual summer threatening the Indian subcontinent. Oceana Home Stay managed by Mr. Binod was the best choice I made for a non hotel stay in Kerala. The property comprises of 2 large rooms fitted with air conditioners and rather large bathrooms and sit-outs done in a mix of modern tiling, fitments and the Keralan architecture style. One thing that you can always be assured in Kerala is cleanliness and hygiene. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The most outstanding points about the property are the following - 1) The huge amount of space that is all yours to roam around in the property with a beautiful gazebo where the food is normally served. 2) The excellent breakfast that is served by Binod and his wife according to the levels of hotness that the guest prefers. Lunch and dinners are on call and the food is superb. 3) The proximity to the sea. It is just about 15 metres to the sea and the waves keep on crashing on the resolute rocks and keep a steady rhythm to lull you into sleep. 4) The rooms are immaculate and the service is wonderful. That said it would be advisable to have a local conveyance like a car or a two wheeler for the guest to travel into town or the beach at Kovalam. Mind you that is the only place where you can swim and it is about 3-4 kms away and getting an auto or a Uber taxi can sometimes be a problem because of GPS issues. Best is to have Mr Binod in the loop as he is gracious enough to pick you up from the main road or get an auto, rental car etc for a trip into town or the beach. Stayed there for two nights and loved the experience. Go there for a great experience in hospitality and goodness. It is worthwhile to mention that Mr Binod went out of his way to recommend a Poovar backwater trip at a phenomenally cheap price compared to what is being charged by the operators there. Eternally grateful for this great and grand gesture.

This was the second time I stayed at Oceana this year and it was every bit as excellent as the first time. Mr. Binod and his wife go more than the proverbial extra mile to ensure the comfort of their customers. I would highly recommend this homestay.

A lovely little place that I have ever stayed at! The room was charming, clean, cozy, and had all basic amenities (minus a refrigerator). The food served was homemade, fresh, and very delicious. Totally recommend the seafood. Mr. Binod was very helpful from the stage of booking till leaving, and ensured a comfortable stay. Would recommend this to anyone going to Kovalam.

Our family had a great holiday at Oceana Homestay during 10 days over New Year. We really enjoyed the clean and beautiful bungalow with breakfast in the pavilion among the coconut trees, set in the midst of an original fishing- and coconut-rope-making village. It's not far to Lighthouse Beach (10 min with a rickshaw), but it's really nice to have the opportunity to leave the commotion in the tourist area for some relax in the hammock with the comforting sound of ocean waves just some feet away. And to make it perfect; if you have an interest in culture, philosophy, religion, geography, food or history - Binod is the perfect discussion partner during breakfast and tea breaks!

Really nice beach house, couple of meters away from beach, gives you the ultimate vacation feeling. Combining this with a very comfortable set up of the nicely decorated room and the warmth of an hospitable owner. Our Expectation was to have a nice and calm stay near beach with some exotic kerala dishes, where i can say they exceed our expectation, especially authentic home made kerala style dished (fish curry) and also some home cooked food customized for my kid......
