Interaction with guests
We live in the adjacent house and are on the grounds to assist with boat and house issues. We spend time going over fishing tips, weather, and other attractions. It is common for guests to check crab pots, go bear watching, kayaking, beach combing, flight seeing. As a life long resident we know many excursion operators and all of the local attractions.

About the neighborhood
Ketchikan is on the Island of Revillagagado island. there is only 40 miles of road on the island. The Tongass National Forest surrounds the town with 16 million acres of temperate rain forest. The misty fiords national monument is on the backside of the island and there are many float plane and boat excursions to this must see attraction. The kingfisher cabin sits on water front with world class salmon runs going by all summer. Halibut, rock, fish and wildlife viewing are common activities. You can view a eagles nest from the deck of the cabin. there are also many trails for hiking and walking.
Getting around
It is most common to use a car, but the guest boat is a great way to see the area.
