Just load up with groceries and all other amenities, including your beer and wine, and you are set for your vacation. We have been to Costa Rica twice before and have done our own driving excursions. This time we mostly just wanted to stay put, as we came to Costa Rica for the winter this time. We are on the bus route, to either take you into Montezuma, which is a 5 minute ride, or to Cobano, which is a 15 minute ride. Great restaurants in Montezuma, so we go out every 3rd night, Balcon del Mar, Sano Banano, Cocolores, Montezuma bar and grill. I could write a short story here, so I will try not to go overboard on info. The best grocery store is in Cobano, Mega Super, pack a 2 wheel cart with your luggage. The owner, Carolina and the caretaker Luis, are fantastic. They have helped us with tours and we have learned a lot of Costa Rica from them. There is also lots of linens, towels, kitchen supplies to make your stay, just so much easier Just wish we had the money to buy this beautiful place and call it home I can't forget the Infiniti pool, that we enjoyed everyday Now the wildlife, is really what we wanted to enjoy, so we have the howlers, the capuchin and the Spider monkeys, who visit us every few days. To wake up with all the windows open to the fresh air and here the howlers, is mesmerizing. I feel like I am living as the Swiss Family Robinsons. Res

This place is just breathtaking, the view is unbelievable and the pool area was our favorite spot! We had the pleasure to meet Carolina, she was great. Can’t wait to go back.

We just spent 2 months at LCC.....and what precious time it was. It is perfect! We're a fairly relaxed couple, but I was unaware of true relaxation until we moved in. Easy to reach Montezuma (a little research and planning) by ferry and bus is stunning. The welcome was very efficient and friendly, and we were left to our own devices - but help was close at hand should we need it. The cottage is high on the hill above the little town, and completely charming, all wood with the best porch wrapped around 2 sides. Views of the ocean, pool, trees and sky are immense, and very moving. Birds, butterflies, monkeys, lizards, and lots more own the large garden. It was a complete dream. There is literally everything you could need for your stay - games, books, tv, binoculars, sunbeds, beach towels, all cooking equipment.....the list is endless. Nothing else matches LCC. Already booking up for our next visit. It felt like our own home, and that's priceless. Thank you Carolina, Gini, and Luis. We miss you! 💗

Due to the covid 19 outbreak and subsequent border closure of Costa Rica, we were not able to visit this home on our spring break ☹. I reached out to the owner Carolina once this was determined. Her policy did not offer refunds from cancellations. She did not hesitate though to extend a full refund because of the circumstances. She was very understanding and compassionate of our (and everyone's) plight because of this unfortunate situation. The house and view look really amazing! We hope to visit next year when all of this situation gets better.

We stayed here for 8 weeks and loved every minute. The location, 1 km. up the hill from the town is perfect. Quiet, breezy and yet close to the beach and the grocery stores. The kitchen is the best equipped I have seen! Carolina is a fabulous host, with Luis and Ginette to cater to your every needs. We loved loved our stay here. Highly recommended.

Our stay at Carolina’s quaint house was magical. It is such a pleasure to sit in the back porch or in the infinity pool and look at miles and miles of Pacific Ocean. Her house has everything you need or want. And we even brought our two dogs with us. We will return!

What a wonderful experience! The casa is close and a short walk downhill to downtown Montezuma, but I appreciated having a vehicle to bring me back up the hill. There were 3 adults in our group, and there was plenty of room. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed, and the couch was a futon. The friendly property manager happily brought us a roll-away bed. We all had a great night’s sleep. The pool (with a beautiful view of the ocean) felt devine, and the breeze coming up the hill from the Pacific was refreshing while relaxing on the deck. The casa was fully stocked, including books & some DVD’s. I felt so relaxed during my stay, and I will definitely return. Thank you Carolina for a wonderful experience!

We stayed at La colina da Carolina from Jan 31 – to Feb 26th. We stayed a month there. To start from the beginning, we first contacted Carol last year when we were just researching about CR and where to visit. We are travelling with our 2 sons (2 and 6) and needed to be on the budget. Carol’s property provided just that and more. The pictures do not do justice to how conveniently located and how beautiful the property is. She is thoughtful when it comes to organizing and providing amenities in her house. The house has EVERYTHING you could possibly need with little kids in a month. You absolutely do not need a car to stay at the property. The house is a km or so away from the Montezuma town. The walk is extremely downhill and then very very uphill coming up. With 2 small kids, we easily managed to go downhill. Coming back up we would taxi (very inexpensive (2000 colones each way) which was easily available). The town itself has so much to offer for adults and kids. We stayed here for a month and were not bored a single day. You can easily and inexpensively taxi to nearby towns as well. The property maanger Ginette and the caretaker at the property are just as wonderful and can assist you in just about everything. The definitely know how to go an extra mile to make you feel special and comfortable at the property. The drive from San jose to Montezuma is perfectly wonderful with new roads paved recently. For first timers hesitant to come down, it is an absolute experience to come down to Montezuma that you will cherish forever. Carol’s property is perfectly situated close enough to the town to walk easily but far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet. The howler monkeys, capuchins, humming birds put on quite a show at the property and my kids just loved it. Children wise, it is an extremely safe home. Enough room for them to play on the verandah or outside on the lawn. Microwave, fridge, stove is in excellent condition and a brand new smart tv for kids to enjoy after a long day at the beach. Her property is also equipped with beach mats, umbrellas, and much more for all seasons so you don’t have to pack extra stuff in your luggage. I can go on and on about the property but in the end all I have to say is we LOVED LOVED staying at La colina de Carolina and will return in a heartbeat. It’s worth every dollar and Carol makes it worthwhile. Thank you for everything! The M family.

Sitting on the porch overlooking the pacific above the jungle. Spectacular!!! This little house is perfect. They put a lot of thought into making it homey, beautiful, and having what you might need. Star book, animals of CR book, binoculars, maps, kitchen stocked with cooking toolsWasher and dryer were huge perk. I seriously cant say enough about much we LOVE this property.
