Rental Home
Large colonial room design with enough internal movement space. It has private access, TV cable and includes a secure and private parking space. The house is located just 17 minutes from the San Jose International Airport surrounded by coffee plantations and sugar cane fields. We operate tours and day trips around the area and beyond as well private transportation and airport transfer service. Breakfast included in our nice green patio. Breakfast included. (coffee, orange juice, fruits, yogurt and granola) A cooked breakfast is offered for a small fee. We offer dinner for our guest with advantage reservations.

Smoking is not allowed inside the house. Not allowed excess consumption of alcoholic beverages. No parties or visitors not previously authorized. Cooking is not allowed for short periods. No laundry for stays one night. Bathtub and jacuzzy are not avaible for short rentals. One time only upon 3 nights. The room is for two people only. Family environment, not motel. Free shuttle service operate between 6:00 am to 8:00 pm (only). After this schedule it has a cost of $ 18.00

Interaction with guests: We provide an unique experience as well as customize tours and day trips around our area and beyond. Trips into San Jose are easy to do. The Poas Volcano National Park is just 40 minutes up the road. What makes my location special is being near the big city, but away from the hustle and bustle in the beautiful countryside. It's truly the best of both worlds! As licensed tour guides, we provide comfortable mini-van transportation or customized tours to any destination of your choice. Tourist destinations nearby: Poas Volcano Natl. Park, Doka Coffee Tour, La Paz Waterfall Garden, Farmer Fair, La Tirimbina Rain Forest Reserve, among many others.

Perfect stay close to the airport
Even though we arrived late (10pm) William was at the airport to pick us up and even prepared us delicious avocado toasts as a night snack as we were hungry after our long flight. The breakfast was simple but good and we enjoyed chilling in the hammocks on the property.

Very Nice place to start or finish your vacation in Costa Rica
Just back from 10 days trip in Csta Rica. We spent our last 3 night at this place. This is a very nice place to stay. Location is perfect, quiet and close for activities and airport. William is an excellent host. You will be satisfied for sure

A little gem
What a perfect way to start my Costa Rica adventure. Arriving late on a Friday William provided transport from the airport to a beautiful one bedroom with balcony and full bathroom including jacuzzi, spacious open shower, and double sinks. Private balcony for a nice morning coffee and views of coffee fields and the mountains. Very clean an equipped with wifi, tv, coffee machine and fridge. William was very helpful with arranging transport as well - to and from San Jose (I was going to Manuel Antonio). Would definitely stay here again!

Excellant Bed & Breakfast Choice!
William & his lovely new bride Lilia were warm, friendly & gracious to us during our 3 night stay. Not only did they shuttle us from & to SJO they drove us to all of our Costa Rica destinations during our 2 week vacation! We didnt need to rent a car & try to traverse streets with no signs or the traffic & no worries about getting lost. We were able to sit back & enjoy the beautiful scenery while William talked about his beautiful country. They escorted us from their b&b to Grecia, LaFortuna, Tamarindo then picked us up in Brasilito on the Pacific coast & brought us back to their b&b. On top of all the driving they prepared us a lovely Brazilian/Costa Rican dinner at the end of our va ca in their home & breakfast in the mornings. Their "room with a view" is incredible especially at night after the sunsets. The lights are spectacular in San Jose nestled between mountain ranges & you can see the planes taking off & landing, not hear them. Also William even printed our boarding passes out so we had 1 less line to stand in at SJO the next morning! William has captured 5 stars in hospitality, VIEW, cleanliness & the MOST comfortable king sized bed we slept in during our 2 week va ca. We will continue to book with Ruta Verde House this coming year on our next trip. Also William is opening up a beautiful 2-3 bedroom suite with a kitchen that has glass walls facing the sugar cane fields! Pura Vida!

Beyond my expectations
Although property is fairly near the airport, you must consider the traffic on the way. It took about 15 minutes to get there. Not bad.

About the neighborhood
There is a nice little town not far from the house: San Pedro de Póas, where it is possible to find good local restaurants, stores and banks. Nearby the house, there is nice restaurant called Pandora which offers high quality meals. Alajuela down town is 15 min away and our place. Bus stop is very close and the buses runs often. The city is small and can be visited in one day, there are museums, markets, parks and shooping places.
Getting around
The best way to get around is by car (remember that we can provide comfortable air conditioned mini-van transport upon request). There is good public transportation to reach the local towns of Alajuela and Sarchi, as well as the nearby ex-pat communities of Grecia and Atenas. The closest bus stop is right down the street from the house.

We can provide the following trips for an extra cost: - Alajuela City Tour, visit the Alajuela Catholic Cathedral, Juan Santamaria Historical Museum, Central market, (include a stop in a coffee shop) among others interest attraction. - Cultural Tour, Grecia Church and Sarchi Craft Village - La Paz Waterfall Garden and Doka Coffee Tour. (*) - Sarapiqui River Rafting and Chocolate Tour at the La Tirimbina Rain Forest Reserve. (*) *Note: Many of the suggested locations charge a separate admission fee. Please let us know if you require ground transportation to anywhere in the country, as well as help in planning your exciting trip to Costa Rica.
