Perched on a hill just 20 minutes from the airport, this is a peaceful retreat with spectacular views across the valley and the mountains beyond. Everything about the casa is great, and nothing more so than the hospitality, warmth - and culinary skills - of Andrea and Rosario. Operating a little like a ski chalet, they provided us with great meals, many drawing on the veg from their little organic patch. The house was spacious, clean, really comfortable. There's a great terrace to dine on or view the amazing bird life, a garden to escape in with lots of nooks to read in and a pool to cool off in. Couldn't have been better.

Only a few minutes from the airport, with lovely views overlooking San Jose and Alajuela! Clean, comfortable rooms. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

We stayed here both at the beginning and end of our trip to Costa Rica. The location is incredible, there are beautiful views of the Central Valley, and the temperature is perfect - not too hot, not too cold. It's about 20 minutes from the San Jose airport with very little traffic, making it convenient if your flight arrives late or departs early. Everyone there was very kind and helpful. I'll definitely be staying here on my next trip.

The view was outstanding, the accommodations are clean, comfortable and convenient and the location is close to everything - the city, the coffee farms, the cloud/rainforest. And everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, I would recommend it wholeheartedly!

The place very comfortable, it has a good space for social activities and the most beautiful is the spectacular view to the Central Valley. Very near to the city and other touristic places. Just AMAZING!!!

Our stay here was top notch! We travelled with a group of teenagers for a service trip in June. Everything about the stay was fantastic. The view was unbeatable, the amenities felt like home, and we were treated with kindness at every stop. I will definitely make this a destination again.

Casa Cielo Grande was the icing on the cake during our trip to Costa Rica! It was very clean, cozy, & the staff were extremely friendly! I have stayed here during both of my trips to Costa Rica & would stay here again if I were to go back! I would most definitely recommend to a friend!

You won’t be disappointed if you stay here! The staff is all so wonderful and the grounds are beautiful. Waking up and sipping a cup of coffee in the rocking chair overlooking San Jose is one of my favorite moments from the trip. We stayed here with a large group and the staff made us all feel welcome and at home.

Casa Cielo Grande has a perfect, therapeutic view of San Jose. As a party of sixteen, we began and ended our Costa Rica trip in this child-friendly, highly incredible homey, comfy, clean inn. With a large group, Andrea was wonderfully accommodating with providing all food preferences including gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian needs in addition to being flexible by providing us late evening dinners and a 3:00 a.m. breakfast for our early morning flight departure. All meals were deliciously made from scratch with fresh-squeezed limeade from the lime trees on the grounds. The flora and fauna are worth exploring and identifying on the property. We were given a tour and identified the following: passion fruit, coffee beans, pineapple, bananas, limes, and so many different types of beautiful flowers. Casa Cielo Grande is definitely a friendly, beautiful, wonderful place to stay!
