EVENT POLICY:
***If a property is used for an event, an event fee of $1,500 for additional usage and wear and tear will be added to the normal rental rate. Guest is responsible for informing Prickett Properties, LLC of any events that will be taking place during their stay. The following conditions apply:
- You are responsible for contacting the City of Gulf Shores to obtain and purchase a permit for weddings inside city limits.
- Any gathering over the occupancy limits of the property must receive prior approval from the Owner.
- No more than 50 persons may be on the property for the event and no more than the normal occupancy limit may be in the property at all other times.
- The event must take place outside the home.
- If you contract an outside company to facilitate your event, they must be bonded and insured.
- There must be a plan for adequate sewage and sewage removal on site. (portable chemical toilets).
- A plan for extra trash/garbage removal from site.
- A plan for parking and shuttle service, if needed.
- A plan in the event of inclement weather.
***If it is discovered that a wedding or other similar event is or has occurred while under this lease agreement, and on which no event fee was paid, the tenant shall be required to pay such fee and pay an additional penalty of $250.00 for such infraction.

We booked this because it had an elevator. The elevator did not work A LOT! They were responsive to fix it, but that gets old. It has 2 refrigerators, one of the freezer does would not open and maintenance could not fix it.
It had a great separate ice maker! Nice butler’s pantry.
The walkway to the beach was nicer than walking thru the dunes, but it was in need of some repair as well.
The beds were comfortable.
Overall, it just needed some basic upkeep, toilet sheets were worn, couches needed to be replaced, chairs sat crooked.
For the price…..it should be better!

"We hate you but thank you."
I didn't want to leave a negative review for the Yassy House, but Prickett's Property management left me no choice after they replied to a feedback e-mail I sent with:
"We hate you but thank you."
My family and I stayed for 4 nights at the Yassy house over Spring Break. The home is spacious and comfortable, great for a big family. Having the beach out the backdoor and pool to relax in were pluses as well.
One of our main attractions to this home was the elevator because my 63-year old father has an amputated leg, making climbing stairs difficult for him. Sadly, the elevator stopped working the first night we arrived. The next day it took multiple calls to Prickett's Property management before a technician arrived late that afternoon. A day later the elevator stopped working again. After calling Prickett Properties again, rather than sending a technician to the house, I was asked by them to enter the crawl space above the elevator and reset the unit myself.
Other issues that arose while staying at the home included the living room lights and ceiling fans not working for the entire stay, one dryer that wouldn't work due to a clogged vent, another dryer that had a problem with the lent trap tearing clothes/towels, a loose pedestal vanity in the main floor's bathroom, and dangerously dull kitchen knives. We also saw roaches in the kitchen.
My family later asked Prickett's management if they would consider a slight refund only due to the difficulty the lack of elevator caused my father. They declined, which is their right. I let them know I disagreed with their stance, but understood there was nothing further I could do. What was unacceptable and the main reason I'm leaving a poor review for what is otherwise a nice house is Prickett Properties final response to me via e-mail (copied again from above):

Nice location but that's about it
We booked this specific house due to the fact it had an elevator and we had a disabled guest. The elevator was broke. The blender was cracked and one of the toilet seats was broken. Had to pay a $700 cleaning fee even though there is a chore list a mile long of things to be done before we checked out of the property. Not worth it for the money we paid.

Perfect
Our family of 18 stayed here the week between Christmas and New Years. It was the perfect location and size house. Our family of 18 ranged in age 4-68. There’s plenty of room for everyone to spread out and the common area is perfect. We could all eat together and lots of room to play games or watch tv and relax. The heated pool was wonderful. The beach was just steps away. The back deck was perfect for sitting in the sun during the winter but it would be terribly hot in the summer.
The really only downfall to this house is the kitchen. We planned and cooked lots of meals during our stay and the kitchen is not equipped for a cook. Cooking Utensils and pots and pans were awful. No potholders. Small little skillets with no coating. For the price of the house the kitchen needs to be better stocked.
We would stay here again, it was truly perfect in all other areas.
