House Rental
The Runaway Pineapple is an Eco friendly lodge with a large deck space, living room, kitchen, loft and master bedroom . It sleeps 4 comfortably with a max of 5. The cupola offers one of the best ocean views in the West End area. The lower level features a wash station, outdoor shower and laundry hanging area. The lodge Is run on solar power ,water is gravity fed at natural temperatures. Located hillside1/2 mile from West End Village , the grounds are filled with wildlife and plants, it is peaceful and quiet with a short walk to all activities. Please be aware the lodge and grounds require up hill walking and a four wheel drive vehicle to access. Some railings and are open and there are several stairways ,may not be suitable for small children or those with limited mobility.

Some railings and walkways are open and not currently suitable for small children. The home is located on a hill with several sets of stairs and may not be accessible for those with limited mobility. Our home is built with wood and smoking is not permitted within the structure. We are powered by solar and currently do not have hot water. Please feel free to make use of all supplies and accessories , future guests would appreciate you leave all items in a clean condition when you leave.

Amazing place
Amazing place with an amazing view. Everything was perfect. If your looking for a secluded nature paradise getaway, this is for you.

Paradise Found
This property is nothing short of Magical.
The architecture is creative and engaging....I felt like I was in a treehouse the whole time.
Soaring above the treetops, the views from the cupola are absolutely amazing. The house is just perfect...tropical with just the subtlest hints of the good old USA.
The location was perfect...off the beaten path, but close enough to the popular West End, that we could easily access the beaches and bars.

Paradise in paradise.
A perfect quiet, relaxed, comfortable retreat with one of the most magnificent views on Roatan.. A very short peaceful escape from the carefree busy energy of the day and night life of East Bay. Shelley and her family were very hospitable and at one instance they prepared a delicious lunch on one of their lavish porches of Runaway Pineapple Lodge. Am in the plans of seeing all of you again soon in 2019 and thanks so much for your help and hospitality.

A Tropical Paradise
My boyfriend and I often travel to the island of Roatan, and I must say that our time at the Runaway Pineapple Lodge is always beyond paradise. We have stayed at the lodge on numerous occasions for various lengths of time, and we always look forward to returning. It is such an amazing space and the price is definitely right for all that is provided.
I love that it has a kitchen with a fridge, portable 2 element stove, and lots of supplies. You can cook on the upper deck while enjoying the incredible view. We eat out every once and a while, but I like cooking our own meals if I can. The lodge is close to a few grocery stores, the Petro Sun gas station, or you can take a 10 mins cab ride down to Eldon’s, the main supermarket in Coxen Hole.
The lodge has one of the best views on the island, where you can take in the sunrise and sunset over the ocean. I do yoga a lot, and the large upper deck is the perfect space for getting in that morning workout while watching the sunrise. There is even a hammock for relaxing, napping, or reading while enjoying your morning coffee.
The bedroom provides lots of closet space and shelves for long term stays and we always have a really great sleep since it is so quiet in the area. We love that the lodge has a shower, since many places in Roatan do not. The wash station and laundry hanging area is key for us since we do a lot of snorkeling and activities and we often need a space to hang our things to dry. If you want to do proper laundry, Ed’s Laundry Place is only a 5 mins cab ride up from the lodge.
The location of the lodge is key for us, since it is only a few minutes’ walk down to the main West End area where all of the restaurants, shops, island activities, and beaches are. It is far enough to get that secluded tropical paradise feel, while remaining close to entertainment and all that you need. The hilltop location makes it perfect for enjoying the Roatan views. We do not own or rent a vehicle, therefore, we usually walk up and down to where we need to go. Cabs are available on the main road at any time when you come down from the lodge area.
The Runaway Pineapple is definitely one of a kind. You will want to come back again and again. It is perfect for families, small groups of friends, or couples who want to enjoy Roatan at an affordable rate with so much to offer. The ocean views, peaceful setting, lush tropical surrounding gardens, towering palm trees, and open space is all that one can ask for in visiting this paradise. We will be back soon!

West End is 1/2 mile from the Runaway Pineapple. In West End you will find a small town experience with plenty of dive shops, restaurants, grocery store, shopping, beach bars and of course access to the beautiful Half Moon bay and its reef and sea life.
Getting around
A car is not necessary we can arrange for airport transport to the lodge. Taxis are readily available at the bottom of the drive. There is also a water taxi in West End which will take you to West Bay. There are many great tour companies on the island which will arrange for you to enjoy all the Island has to offer. If you choose to rent a car you will need 4 wheel drive.
