The Arashiyama House and Hanare were registered as a ''Important Cultural Properties of Kyoto''. The Arashiyama Hanare was built on before 1935, and was completely restored in November 2008-2011. The restoration was a labor of love, requiring the participation of artisans specializing in traditional carpentry techniques, and using natural materials in all areas both inside and out. Great efforts were made to recreate an atmosphere which will allow guests to experience the traditional way of living. An added modern touch for comfort is the luxurious bathing area and bathroom...where you can soak in the oversized tub while gazing at the Zen garden, after a full day of sightseeing.

If you are looking for a tradional Japanese home you will find it here. The home is very clean and well equipped. The home is located in a good area, close to the supermarket, shops, train station and tourist sites. as we traveled in November it was cool outside but we were warm inside with heating and the beautiful warm...

I stayed here recently during a trip to Kyoto with my cousin. We found the property very well maintained, offering exactly what we needed, as other posts have mentioned. What I found to be exceptional was the bedding provided, especially the pillow which was made of ergonomic bead filling. As a result I was able to sleep intensely and deeply...
