Located a few KM from the historic Galle, Ivory House takes inspiration from the Dutch colonial period combined with a simple, modern contemporary aesthetic – a fusion of East and West. Designed to take maximum advantage of the views over the rice paddies and the cooling breezes off the valley the house has 4 bedroom suites, a large sitting area and indoor / outdoor dining. The 20m pool has a large step with drop off for allowing the energetic to do laps whilst others watch.

We just spent 5 nights at Ivory House as a family and cannot wait to return.
The house and gardens are magnificent and the pool with the sunset view across the paddy fields needs to be seen to be fully appreciated- it took our breath away every evening.
The villa is possibly the most comfortable and well maintained that I have stayed in - and I am well travelled.
The grounds are beautiful and boast an abundance of tropical flowering plants accompanied by the chatter of peacock strutting around.
The staff are absolutely outstanding and we felt like family when we left. Sunil is an incredible chef and we left a little heavier. Padma could not do enough for us and little touches like the cinnamon oilburners for my evening luxurious bath made me feel so special.
Banda kept the grounds immaculate and Thilanka discreetly preempts every need with a quiet smile.
We cannot thank the staff enough and we shall return again and again.

Ivory House Holiday Jan 22
This is a wonderful villa overlooking verdant paddy fields with a magnificent pool and exceptional staff. We had a ball over our 6 day stay and want to say a huge thank you to Sunil ( manager) and his team who were so engaging and helpful. We ate like royalty some of the most delicious fish and curry dishes ever tasted. Sunil is a master chef adding his own touches to a range of sumptuous salads, mouth watering meat courses and yummy puddings. He also organised trips to Galle, a local tailor and a golf course inside Kogolla Airforce base for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend a stay here. It’s fabulous.

Best villa stay ever!
We had the privilege to stay at Ivory House in April 2019 for 1 week. From the moment we arrived a sense of calm and tranquility passed over us all. We were welcomed with warmth and love by Sunil and Pradeep who catered to our every need. The house itself it stunning; immaculate with effortless style. The grounds are teeming with animal life that is a joy to watch from the big wide verandas, and the pool is one of the nicest I’ve had in a private villa. It is deep enough for a dive, and long enough for morning laps with the birds.
I recommend staying here, and if you do, give our warmest regards to Sunil and Pradeep who felt like family by the end.

The most beautiful house I have stayed in, an absolute winner!
Ivory House is hidden among the paddy fields, in a beautiful, tranquil and private location. Galle easily accessible with a short and picturesque tuk-tuk ride. Built in true tropical style, the house is of stunning design and beautifully laid-out with an enormous patio wrapped around the front where one can relax and enjoy surrounding nature from early in the morning until late at night. Each bedroom is beautiful and quiet, with its own en-suite bathroom and high quality beds/mattresses. The living room and open kitchen are equally beautiful, carefully decorated by the owners who clearly love this house and maintain it with the greatest care. There is a stunning pool, with lovely fresh water, expertly cleaned every day. The property does not look or feel like a rental, one could imagine living there permanently, in great luxury. The house comes with permanent staff who clearly love the house and will look after you as if you are the owner. This is the first time I have stayed at a property where I could not find a single item I would change. Bravo!

Perfect Galle getaway
My family and I just spent 5 nights at The Ivory House and it was absolutely perfect. Located a short tuk tuk away from all our daytime activities- cycling through paddy fields, surfing at the beaches, shopping at Galle Fort. But when you’re in the Villa you feel a million miles away from anything. Stunning architecture and design, beautiful gardens, the best pool ever, and an extraordinary team of staff- manager, chef etc. Sunil and Pradeep are absolute professionals who looked after our every need. Three very happy boys, and two very relaxed and happy parents. A must

Perfect holiday in the jungle!
We had a lovely week long stay at Ivory House in late February, we were a group of 4 adults and one 2.5 year old. The villa itself is lovely, it is a renovated Dutch Colonial house with 4 large bedrooms. The villa interiors are contemporary and very comfortable. The villa surrounds are beautiful; if you are a nature lover you will love this villa! The monkeys in the trees behind the villa kept us entertained each day with their antics! And the variety of birds and other wildlife brought much wonderment. Sunil and his team at Ivory House are fantastic and the food is top notch. Having stayed in a number of villas in and around Galle I can confidently recommend Ivory House to anyone considering a jungle escape!

Perfect House
Situated 30 min tuk tuk ride from Galle Town. A tastefully decorated and comfortable house. With superb staff, nothing was to much trouble, and a chef who had worked in embassies around the world. Super food, and great supporting staff.

Stunning property, outstanding Sri Lankan hospitality
Spent a wonderful 10 days over Christmas at Ivory House. The property is not only stylish and supremely comfortable, it's extremely well-appointed for adults and children alike. The place is managed by an incredible in-house team of staff and the villa management company, whose concierge service did an excellent job organising our transfers, activities, nanny service etc; they even ordered wine so that it was chilling for us at the house when we arrived at the start of our holiday.
The villa is located conveniently for trips via tuk tuk to Galle, the beach plus there are other attractions and lovely restaurants all within easy reach. Alternatively, it's a lovely spot just to relax for days on end, either by the pool under the palm trees or on the verandah, overlooking the rice paddy fields.
As much as we loved Ivory House, I have to give a special mention to the in-house team of staff who welcomed us so warmly and provided the best in Sri Lankan hospitality. The villa was kept immaculate throughout our stay, laundry service was included and we were lucky to be served the most delicious food prepared by the in-house chef. Both Sri Lankan and international dishes were offered and we enjoyed every single meal. The top-notch service was all provided with genuine smiles and, as a result, we felt at home right away and were extremely sorry when our holiday came to an end.
Thank you Ivory House - we'll definitely be back.

Family holiday
Ivory House is a beautiful house off the beaten track near Galle. The house is furnished and decorated to a very high and stylish standard. The staff are amazing. Helpful and patient with our little tribe of toddlers and producing the most wonderful meals and level of service to provide a memorable and special holiday for a family celebration. Within a tuk tuk ride of Galle this is the perfect place to stay.

Incredible in every way!
The Ivory Villa was spectacularly beautiful, located in lush green landscape away from the hustle and bustle of the beach roads.
The layout and design of the villa has been very well considered and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The decor is modern and clean, allowing the natural setting to be the hero.
As most guests have mentioned, the service was outstanding and the food was incredible! Don't miss out on the egg hoppers (I am definitely taking this recipe home).
It was a tranquil paradise, and I would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a jewel in the jungle.
