To accurately describe this house is to call it a ‘family beach house’. Step through the private beach gate and you are on a wide and long beach that is blissfully deserted with soft sand and a lapping crystal warm sea.
Three families from 3 generations holidayed at Skye House. The beds were divine, rooms spacious and the furniture plentiful and comfortable. The staff were professional, diligent and accommodating. Sam, the chef and house manager arranged transportation, visits and provided delicious food for children and adults. Everyone agreed it was the best house ever!

Home away from home
Very rare for a place to be EXACTLY (in this case better than) like it is in the professional pictures that are uploaded on travel/hotel websites. Stunned by the beauty of the villa and its surroundings. The rooms are spacious and clean with a beautiful view of the ocean.
Bathrooms are spotless aswell. If I have to nitpick - maybe adding a health faucet/bidet in the bathrooms would be a good idea since it's in Asia and sees many footfalls from this region but this is in no way a deal breaker.
All rooms (except ofcourse the children's rooms with bunk beds) have high four poster beds that are extremely comfortable to sleep on and also equipped with a mosquito mesh (that you most likely will not need).
The team was exceptional in all regards - service, kindness and professionalism. Food was fantastic and Chef Sam keeps all the bills and is very forthcoming with costs and accounts. Sameera was very handy with the vodka based cocktails. The kitchen and housekeeping support staff are extremely accommodating with requests and they do it with a smile :)
Do visit Sky House - you will only be happier for it!

Sri Lankan Paradise
We visited Skye House as part of a larger family gathering in February and our expectations were far exceeded.
It is a beautiful villa with ample space for 4 families, the highlights are - great communal areas, excellent pool, lovely playground and large garden, it’s right on the beach, has a snooker table on the upstairs balcony and a tv room downstairs to let the kids wind down after a long day playing in the surf.
The villa comes with full staff, the villa manager and head chef Sam, could not have been more accommodating or flexible in our requests. With the help of Chandana, their food was outstanding, from Sri Lankan specialities to international cuisine.
His staff were always on hand and able to help, Menaka and Eranga were excellent stewards and available throughout the day whilst Disna, Kalyani and Saman looked after the upkeep of the house and the garden daily.
Sam is able to arrange any excursions and has a fleet of tuk-tuk drivers on hand to ferry you to or from various places. There is a turtle hatchery 3 doors down from the villa that was very interesting and Pearl Divers was an excellent dive centre 15 minutes away.
There is a security guard 24/7 and at night an extra one patrols the grounds, which made us feel very safe.
My family would not hesitate to recommend this villa and will definitely be making a return trip.

The most exquisite catered villa you could dream of!
We booked Skye House for a family reunion to celebrate my 70th and two of the grandkid’s birthdays in the same week. Kids live in Oz/UAE/UK.
We had high expectations from the brochure but they were far exceeded in reality! You will not be disappointed if you book.
We were 4 couples, 4 4+ children and a 2 year old. The 4 double rooms are all similar so no spats over allocation. One has a separate room that can be curtained off for a child/baby. The 7 bed dormitory is ideal for 4+ to teenage kids.
The 8 staff led by Chef Sam are all excellent. Professional, friendly and always go above and beyond to satisfy your needs. Sam is both an exceptional team leader and chef. His food is scrumptious and varied. Anything you want is never too much trouble. The suggested daily menus are all excellent and he varied them to cater for those that suffer from allergies/fussyness!
The position on the coast is perfect and the pool/playground/gardens are very spacious with good privacy. They are maintained to a very high standard daily by Saman.
The owners,Eden Properties, were most helpful. Initially we dealt with Jack Eden who then passed us onto the ubiquitous Udeshika who made our planning very smooth in an efficient and friendly manner.
It was exceptional value for money and one I have no hesitation in recommending.

Amazing time at Skye House
We are just back from a fantastic two weeks in Sri Lanka over new year. It is an incredible county and a wonderful time to visit. A brilliant experience for our children who are 9 and 6. There is so much to do from surfing to safaris. Stunning countryside and beaches, insane food and lovely people. We spent the final week at Skye House with two other families with similar aged children. What a place to stay. Beautiful villa, so much space, wonderful pool and garden going on to the beach. The rooms are all big and we had 6 kids in the dorm no prob. Sam and his team looked after us brilliantly. The food was delicious. We had an England vs Sri Lanka cricket match on the lawn where the home team were very generous in their bowling to the kids. You can body board in the sea right in front of the villa and there are great beaches for swimming and surfing close by. Amazing. We will be back!

Stunning beach location - perfect for large families and friends.
I just wanted to write and thank you so much for all your hospitality and support whilst we were at Sky House. We had the most wonderful time; the staff were fantastic, very ably led by Sam and Dai and the villa was absolutely perfect for a large group like ourselves. Please do pass our thanks on to them all. We had lots of room to spread out and were all very comfortable and I thought the location was perfect. The beach was very quiet, and the waves on the beach calmed perfectly and so we were also able to surf and swim in the sea for the latter half of the week as well as enjoying the villa as the perfect base to explore the area. A beautiful country and we will hopefully be back soon.

If Carlsberg did villas... beachside and beautiful
This place is INSANE!!! Skye House is quite frankly the ultimate. Situated on the best beach in Sri Lanka the house is utterly breathtaking. Fully staffed (you will want for nothing) - beachside and beautiful. On arrival you will be greeted by a full complement of staff who will literally look after your every need. An excellent villa for young ones too with a beautiful bunk room and a menu that can be adapted to suit all. You're also only 20 minutes from Galle, near the surf centre of Welligama and have a host of activities on your doorstep. Highly recommend an early morning bike ride with Idle Bikes, a tuk-tuk to Galle Fort, an in-house massage, a trip to the temple and swimming with turtles at Wijaya. Skye House really is the best of its kind. Book through the very excellent Eden Villas (Jack) - who will ensure all your needs/transfers etc are met. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Skye House.. does it get any better?
What an amazing, beautiful place to stay for a family vacation. The villa itself is heaven, the rooms are air-conditioned and bathrooms are very spacious, and the decor is beautiful. It is a perfect location on one of the best beaches on the south coast.
The staff were absolutely fantastic, if there were any problems with anything it was attended to immediately with the wonderful Sri Lankan smile. With a family of 5 we had no issues at all in Sri Lanka, transfers worked well, food was excellent, surf was solid and we will be back soon!

Fantastic break
Just days before we were due to fly to Sri Lanka in early July (2022) the UK government (FCO) revised advice to tourists destined for Sri Lanka to only go for essential travel. We have 3 young children but have been to the country on numerous occasions before. We obviously had some concerns after looking at the press coverage of the situation at the time, however we were lucky to have trusted contacts on the ground in the country who reassured us that it was safe to travel. We arrived in Columbo the same day that peaceful protesters entered the presidents residence in Columbo, we didn't go into Columbo as we were heading south to Galle and we had been told the protests were specifically around concerns about the government not against tourists.
Without exception, we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome by the residents of the country. In addition to the contacts were already knew out there Eden Villas provided reassurance that they had back up fuel if required for generators if the power went off, which it did at times and which all worked well. We managed to travel around locally in tuk tuk's as usual and were welcomed where ever we went. There are extremely long waits (days) for fuel but the local residents waiting in the queues were so well organised and patient we could all learn a lesson from them.
The country is experiencing very difficult economic times however tourism is one of the industries that will help to inject foreign currency into the country and enables those employed in the sector to earn a living.
Everybody has to make their own decisions about travel and their perceived risks, I would urge people to research beyond the popular press and take advice from those on the ground. We did that and had the most memorable holiday which included swimming with feeding wild turtles, walks through the paddy fields and taking the kids to a cricket test match at Galle cricket ground between Sri Lanka and Pakistan as well as swimming in the sea at Unawutuna.
I fully recommend a trip to Sri Lanka and if you are looking for a private Villa Eden Villas offer an exceptionally professional service.

Skye House was probably the most luxurious, beautiful place I've ever stayed!!
We spent our first week in Sri Lanka travelling around, adventuring, so we were ready for some pampering and WOW did it deliver.
We stayed with 2 other families (both with small children, like us) and we were pinching ourselves throughout our stay at our luck.
We knew it was going to be incredible from the photos but it waeven better than we imagined.
Not only was the house stunning: the setting (right on the beach) and the interiors too, but the amazing team who looked after us for our stay were completely brilliant.
Led by Sam, our chef, who cooked the most delicious meal for us and the kids.
All the staff were wonderful though and so good with the kids.
Coming back home was a bit of a shock!!!
The beach was deserted, with white powder sand and dramatic waves (we didn't venture in further than playing up to our waists, and holding on tight to little ones!!)
The piece de resistance was a beach barbecue on our last night, under the stars.
We were close to Galle and visited a couple of times, as well as wandering 2 minutes down the beach to the turtle sanctuary but other than that we spent most of our time at the villa....why would we leave somewhere so gorgeous?!
We had very good massages and yoga in the morning too.
I really hope we can go back soon!
