Positioned at the end of a delightful village path, Villa Sujati is a short 5-minute walk through the lush, rural atmosphere of an authentic Balinese community.
Villa Sujati was built and designed in classic Balinese architecture with a high traditional thatched-grass roof, textured stone foundation and elegant woodwork. The mature, landscaped garden is full of fragrant flowers, towering trees, stone sculptures, water fountains, lanterns and soothing fish ponds. Villa Sujati affords guests with a large, functional open space to enjoy utter relaxation in a comfortable private home.
The two-story villa has two enormous bedrooms that can sleep four adults in exceptional comfort. Featuring complete modern facilities including a 37-inch LED TV, satellite cable channels, DVD player and high speed Wi-Fi Internet access throughout, Villa Sujati integrates the best of tropical Balinese living and luxurious contemporary design elements. Each room has its own large en-suite bathroom with separate shower and luxurious two-person terrazzo bathtubs.
Villa Sujati has multiple private lounge areas, dining facilities, sun beds and a stunning elevated wooden gazebo in the rear of the property perfect for taking in the exquisite panoramic vista or simply enjoying an afternoon nap. The friendly, attentive staff can arrange a tour of Bali or relaxing massage on short notice. Alternatively, the experienced private chef can prepare delicious home-cooked Balinese and Western meals for you at very reasonable prices.
A five minute drive brings you to the many temples (GunungLebah), museums (Antonio Blanco and Neka), boutique shops and gourmet dining (Mozaic, Bridges) ofUbud. Nearby the Four Seasons Sayan Hotel, Villa Sujati is conveniently located in close proximity to numerous daily Balinese dance performances and other frequent cultural events and temple festivals.
Fabulous peaceful location and good service but not absolutely private.
Easy booking on Airbnb with Ketut who owns 3 or 4 properties and was happy to arrange his driver to collect us from Amed which arrived 1 hour late, blamed the traffic, very apologetic, although another driver from Ubud had arrived on time. But very safe driver & good vehicle, great welcome in the gorgeous Penastanan village just west of central Ubud and only a 10 minute walk from Blanco Museum.
From car drop point, it is a lovely easy 5 minute stroll to the villa on a 1.5 metre wide path for pedestrians & scooters only, staff took the cases on scooter, thus villa has no car or truck noise. Many good local restaurants and spas within 5-10 minute walk, especially Elements, La Pacha Mama, & DivinE Wine Bar / Bridges Fine Dining. The remaining villa pick up & dropoff service with Suka was excellent.
Nice garden but not as isolated as the web photos suggest. Villa Sujati is perhaps 16 years old & well presented but a little tired and dark with some rising damp, peeling paint etc, and the clocks should be removed as one has stopped anyway. The wall safes are fixed (good) but are difficult to access at foot level. The pool is very satisfactory, very clean, good size depth & temperature with sun & shade, but the steps into the pool are a little slippery, there area lot of biting ants about, and the pool is poorly orientated such that when sitting on the steps, one is gazing at the tired service areas instead of the attractive garden! It should have been sited 180 degrees about.
The pool shower was dirty and contained assorted litter & used soap toothbrushes etc, and staff &/or family did wander in and out of the pool area a bit, as noted by other reviewers. The staff told me it was the staff shower & toilet! And sometimes staff smoked in the service area 5m from our front porch. I objected & matters were fixed, but what appears to be the staff kitchen & rest area remains extremely close by thus more resembling a homestay v private self-contained villa.
The upstairs bedroom is nice with good aircon, but the villa would not suit all parties of 4 as the access to the upstairs bedroom is from the lower bedroom! Hot water in the bottom shower was erratic. A kettle was present but no cups teapot coffee pot or plunger until requested. Good supply of Aqua but this generates a lot of plastic waste - a bulk Aqua dispenser would be better. The free wifi is reasonable at front of house & bedrooms, but does not extend to the pool area. The laundry service is very good. A fridge contained a used water bottle. The breakfast menu is limited & vegetarian only - no bacon or ham - so we breakfasted out most days. I would suggest the breakfast should be deleted or only an optional extra, rather than included in the tariff.
So we had a lovely time in a spacious quaint villa in a great location with good service that I feel is due for a rethink and a refurbishment. The web photos & text need to be updated to reflect the less isolated position, & either delete references to privacy, or ensure it is private with no persons to enter the entire enclosure and pool area except at pre-agreed times.

6 nights wasn't long enough!
Our stay at Villa Sujati was perfect for our family of 5 (2 children, parents and grandpa).
The staff were wonderful, Ketut the owner was fantastic, everything was great.
The breakfasts in the morning eaten outside by the pool were a wonderful way to start the day! One morning before breakfast we decided to explore the rice fields. It was so tranquil and beautiful.
The villa is away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to all the main attractions. It is also close to some great eateries, and walks (Campuhan Ridge).
There is so much to do in Ubud don't make your stay too short.
Grandpa and the kids loved having our own private pool. It was nice to be able to swim in it any time of the day (unlike most resorts).
I highly recommend Villa Sujati you won't be disappointed.

Tranquil relaxation
We stayed here for four nights with our two children and thoroughly enjoyed a very relaxing, quiet and luxurious setting where you can enjoy your personal pool and garden in amongst Indonesian countryside. The staff do everything they can make your stay comfortable. The breakfasts are very nice and can be taken out by the pool. Given that Ubud can be quite crowded and chaotic we enjoyed spending the majority of our time in our own villa just taking it easy. A short walk will get you to the neighbouring day spas to get a massage or the staff can arrange for them to come to the villa. The villa is a reasonable distance from the main road and so can be very quiet and tranquil. All in all it was exactly what we were looking for!

Excellent stay!
The Villa Sujati and its staff exceeded all our expectations. The villa is really large, with two spacious bedrooms and two even more spacious badrooms, a private pool, three balconies, lovely well kept garden and a two storey terrace in the back with a view over the rice fields. It is located outside the busy centre of Ubud, which means that you need a taxi to get there. There are a few small restaurants in the neigbourhood. The staff is super friendly. Our laundry was done, Dian arranged cooking lessons and transport for us and if you want you can have lunch or dinner at the villa. Would definitely recommend this.

Perfect place to stay
We spent 3 nights in sujati villa. I can't exaggerate how perfect this place is. Breakfast was fantastic every morning. Made for us when we were ready. Rooms are amazing with air con. Pool area is beautiful. Completely private. Anything you need is only a phone call away. They honestly couldn't do enough for us. We asked for mopeds and within half hour they were available to us. They leave you a phone to call with any requests and nothing is too much for them. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Probably the best place I've ever stayed. Main road is a 15 min walk or a cheap taxi ride away which the staff here will organise.

Comfortable stay but needs an update!
We (and a toddler) stayed recently at Villa Sujati. The grounds are beautiful and much more grown than in the photos on the Trip Advisor ad. It is very private from the neighbouring properties as it is now lush and grown up. In saying that, there is also now a lot more housing close to the villa so it is not as secluded as the photos give the impression.
The villa is a good walk down a path which is not suitable for a pram, so keep in mind if travelling with young ones - a carrier is fine, it is a gentle incline but nothing too taxing. The walk takes you past some great spots including Dreams Cafe and Spa and lovely rice paddies etc and is a short walk to one of the main streets and a few great eating spots such as Alchemy.
The staff speak limited English so keep this in mind as sometimes it may take a while (or a few people to be found) to get what you need. Most of the staff also tend to be very young and are with little 'hospitality' training (ie not like those you find in some of the Bali resorts) so patience can be required. The staff were ALWAYS happy to help however, that cannot be faulted.
The photos on the Trip Advisor ad show the accommodation to be quite remote which is no longer the case. There are now several villas alongside Villa Sujati including the owners which directly abuts the accommodation.
The interior of this accommodation is in dire need of updating. There were mouldy curtains in the upstairs bathroom and although clean, the terazzo baths are stained.
There are no curtains so you do feel very exposed in the upstairs bedroom especially at night if you have lights on in the room. It is also of course then, very bright as soon as the sun comes up!
There are lots of little things that could be improved - lights had bulbs that needed changing; there were towelling type covers on the toilet paper rolls that matched those around the base of the toilet and in the bathroom which I find a bit gross as you don't know how often they are laundered and they were just a big daggy/grimy; spare pillows with no pillow cases on them; curtains on windows really are needed; the downstairs air-conditioner struggles and needs to be replaced as it doesn't work well and makes weird noises at night. Mosquitoes are also a big issue and we were all bitten despite protection so come prepared and don't let your guard down!
Further, the villa grounds are not particularly private. In the backyard (with the pool) there is a toilet and shower alongside where the staff are in the kitchen/laundry. I was under the impression this was our outdoor amenities so you didn't go in the house if you were out in the pool etc, however it seems these are shared amenities with the staff and the owner and family? One afternoon we watched a personal fitness workout by someone in our front yard as we relaxed with a drink on the front porch in the afternoon. Another afternoon I was somewhat surprised to see a very old man (apparently the owners father) having a shower with the door open in our backyard the day after finding a random young man wandering in to the yard to use the toilet for his cigarette and constitutional.
The breakfasts however were very tasty and always on time and lovely out by the pool.
I wouldn't stay here again or recommend unless it was renovated as there are many other options in both Panestanan and Ubud - but this of course depends on your expectations!

Very private and spacious villa!
We stayed 4 nights just recently and we had a pleasant stay at Villa Sujati.
First of all, this villa is located in the paddy fields and so no cars can be driven inside as they have no proper roads. Only accessible via "bonceng" (motorbike/scooter). When we first arrived, we had to walk from the main entrance (Gratitude Cafe), about 10 mins along the paddy fields to the villa.
We didnt get to meet the owner, Ketut, but Villa Sujati has a commendable team of staff who catered to our needs. Our driver, Suka, our butler, Made and Febry~ They were fantastic!! We were given a small phone with their hp numbers stored inside, so we could call them whenever we needed something.
Villa Sujati is really huge! way too big for just 2 of us..haha..
Upon entrance, there's 2 single beds and upstairs a King sized bed. The top bedroom has glass windows all around the room and so every morning during sunrise, the whole room lit up with sun rays...absolutely stunning! We had mountain and paddy field views during sunrise right at our balcony.
We loved spending our day relaxing in the pool and having daily breakfast on top of the hut overlooking the luscious paddy fields.
Made and Suka were nice enough to offer us a lift in their scooter to Ubud Centre whenever we wanted to go for spa and have lunch. They even picked us up! All we had to do was call them via the mobile phone given to us and they were there to pick us up in about 10 mins!
We hired Suka to drive us around for about $60 and went for paragliding and a sumptious dinner at Jimbaran.
Villa Sujati is highly recommended!!

Piece of paradise in the rice fields near ubud.
I stayed here for 3 days with my wife 2 children, age 3 and 5. Initially finding the place was challenging as we had GPS and tried to find it with the coordinates. We called Ketut from the blanco museum and he came and fetched us right away after we couldn't find the place. It is actually impossible to drive to. We booked through air BNB and it was clear from the website and email that you cannot drive to the place. The villa itself is very spacious with comfortable beds and linens. There are so many places to sit and just relaxed and we loved that. There was a lot of wild life here. We saw a lot of birds some beautiful white ones the were eating in the rice fields. There were lizards and turtles near the pond with fish. We got to see lightning bugs flying over the rice fields at night which was really cool. There were flowers of every color and the plants were so vibrant. It is very quite and isolated. You can see neighbors but you can hardly hear them and when your swimming in the pool you feel all alone. We loved staying here
