Thank you so much considering The Monkey Barrel for your home while visiting Nantucket. We call this house “The Monkey Barrel” because with all of the fun, laughter, and antics that take place while we’re at the beach…this house sometimes happily feels like a barrel of monkeys! Comments on why our rates fluctuate so much during the year, as well as a full itemization of fees, are included at the end of this description.
This is a renovated home with every comfort in mind including zoned air conditioning and heating throughout.
Main level: Open kitchen with breakfast bar and living room with new TV and stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, living room furniture, and hardwood floors. Two bedrooms include a master with a king bed, TV, and comfy reading area, and the second offer...

Magnificent Monkey Barrel
This is an amazing home conveniently located between the Surfside beaches and town. It is big enough to accommodate large groups with 6 bedrooms and a bathroom on each floor. It's comfortable furnishings make you feel like you are at home instantly. The backyard is the best part of the home and was perfect for entertaining and our family dinners.. There is a hot tub, commercial sized grill, expansive deck, ice maker (big plus for cooler filling) and large table out back for relaxing. My favorite part of the house was the outdoor shower...a must for any beach house. Mike and Kirby are accommodating and organized and will make sure your stay is perfect. The Monkey Barrel had it all for our perfect Nantucket Vacation!

Home away from Home
A perfect home for the week away! perfectly located, beautifully renovated and wonderfully spacious for us all have a wonderful week! I would recommend this place to everyone visiting Nantucket!

Amazing home
Amazing location, Amazing home. Walking distance to town, walking distance to beach. This is the perfect house for a large group of friends or family. Everything you need to enjoy your time on nantucket. We stayed there with a group of friends and the layout allowed everyone to have their own space. We will be back.

Such a beautiful vacation home inside and out!
I stayed here several times last summer. Such a beautiful vacation home inside and out! Parking is not a problem here, which I’ve found can be an issue with large groups! Great backyard with a hot tub, grill, and outdoor fridge on a large deck to keep the party rolling without interruption! A/C to help enjoy your time inside with spacious bedrooms and top of the line appliances. Location is perfect; short distance to the beach or town, but just far enough away to feel like you are in your own retreat. Owners were a joy to work with - I truly recommend this house! Only thing left is to book your ferry or flight!

Beautiful house and great location for having all the fun on Nantucket
The Monkey Barrel is a barrel of fun big enough to accommodate a large group. The house has a renovated kitchen, it's tastefully decorated, well-maintained, and clean. Spacious backyard has an amazing grill, and there is a hot tub! The lovely downtown area of the island and the beautiful beaches are a nice walk, or short cab or bike ride away. This was not my first stay at the Monkey Barrel and hopefully won't be my last.

Great beach house for groups!
Beautifully renovated house great for families/groups halfway between town and Surfside Beach. We loved hanging out in the hot tub and grilling on the deck after a day at the beach. The Monkey Barrel has everything a beach house needs - beach towels, chairs, a wine fridge, two living rooms, a fridge on the deck, a nice outdoor shower. The owners are great and easy to work with. We had an awesome time!

New home, super clean, close to town and beach!
LOVED this home! Stayed here with some girlfriends for a long weekend. The house is modern and beautifully furnished. The backyard is perfect for chilling, grilling, and hot tubbing! The home is close enough to walk to town (without heels) or just hop on a bike and scoot over to the beach. The grocery store is close by, too. Owners were very responsive to all our inquiries. Highly recommend.

Beautiful home,incredible amenities, perfect for groups and families
Close to beach,and downtown. Chefs kitchen indoors and 2nd kitchen outside. Grill, hot tub and large fenced in yard had a private feel for all to enjoy. The home is tastefully decorated and comfortable. We will stay here again!,

Such fun and R&R in ACK
The Monkey Barrel is the perfect house in Nantucket for a fun friends and/or family get-away. The house is beautifully renovated and filled with everything you need to kick back, relax and have fun! It's centrally located with easy access to town and the beaches--or just stay in and enjoy the hot tub and outdoor deck. The decor is so lovely and comfortable you'll settle right in and never want to leave.

Gorgeous House - Have Been Back Several Times!
I've had the pleasure of staying at the Monkey Barrel on more than one occasion over several different summers. It's centrally located on the island that makes for easy access to Surfside Beach on the south side of Nantucket (by the bike path or a short cab ride) and easy walk into town for a night out. The house is gorgeous, recently renovated with high end appliances/outdoor deck and high end gas grill, and of course, the HOT TUB! Bedrooms on three separate floors and a sitting area upstairs gives people privacy to relax (or god forbid have to escape to do some work while on vacation). Kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, knives, grilling utensils and so on if you like to stay in and cook as a group. I'm sure I'll be back when I can!
