Our Panoramic Colonial Duplex is located in the famous colonial quarter of San Blas and has a spectacular view over the entire historic center of Cusco. The level of design and details put the apartment in a category of superior quality. The place is perfect for couples, families (possibility for 01 extra bed) and business travellers. THE APARTMENT & GENERAL INFORMATION Welcome to the 16th Century. The level of design and details put the apartment in a category of superior quality. The place is perfect for couples, families (possibility for 01 extra bed) and business travellers. THE APARTMENT & GENERAL INFORMATION Welcome to the 16th Century. Everything in this inviting apartment was thought through to the smallest detail: 2 hand-carved thrones made of nogal (walnut) wood, a dining table which mirrors the typology of the contemporary models in the “chicherias” of Cusco and iconographies in the bedroom, taken of the facade of the San Lorenzo colonial church in Potosí, Bolivia, show all of this. The colonial architecture is symbolically illustrated by a gorgeous aijmez – a hand-carved corner balcony. This gives a particular aesthetic not only to the apartment but also to the whole building. As was usual in the colonial period, a wood-burning fireplace is another addition and a further attraction in this apartment. The play of colours on the walls creates an intimate atmosphere in which you quickly feel at home. The apartment is split over two levels, with the ground floor as the day area, including the kitchen, and a gorgeous mezzanine with the bedroom. Wood is the dominant building material in this apartment, as was common in the colonial period. The floors, pillars and stairs give rise to a beautiful wooden landscape. The model for the 1.70x2 metre bed, a cupboard and a chest of drawers made of carved wood originates from historical books, and they are intended to evoke a special atmosphere. The delicate bathroom, made of white pine and handmade bronze fittings, also rounds off the picture. Mattress is the highest quality: super-orthopaedic Latex Bamboo. Last but not least comes the wonderful view that you can enjoy through the window – a vista which reaches into the historical centre of Cusco. Unforgettable at night. TRANSFERS: if you like to have a driver waiting for you at the airport to reach immediately our apartment we have trusted drivers that know our place (service not included in the rate). LAUNDRY: a laundry service with pick-up and delivery in your apartment is also available (service not included in the rate) TRAVEL AGENCY: If you require any assistance in putting together a personalized itinerary please do not hesitate to contact us. We manage a specialized travel agency exclusively for our guests and provide a service that complements our apartments. It would be our pleasure to address any questions you may have. Our service is also available for the purchase of train & bus tickets. GENERAL INFORMATION Sheets and towels are part of the normal equipment of the apartment. Since the apartment has already a heating system working (included in the rate), the wood for the fireplace is charged as a extra service. It is possible to add up to 02 extra beds (not included in the rate). THE COLONIAL QUARTER OF SAN BLAS At the moment, the San Blas district is known as being the tourist area of Cusco as such. Comparative to the historical centre that borders it, San Blas is on a hill, which offers gorgeous views over the ancient Inca capital. It unfolds around a beautiful colonial church, whose renowned pulpit, made of hand-carved cedar wood, is regarded as one of Peru’s most important works of artistic carpentry, if not of the entire continent. San Blas is the craftsman and artistic quarter in which you can find exhibitions by young talent, who exist next to the big names that are locally famous. In the surrounding area you can find a large number of hotels and hostels as well as restaurants, cafés and pubs, and in such density that San Blas has been able to develop its own nightlife. The quarter preserves the warmth of the narrow, cobbled lanes, the houses roofed with typical stones from Cusco and their antique gates, Spanish atriums and pretty balconies. IMPORTANT Our Colonial Duplex is located in a quiet pedestrian street that enjoys a special tranquility to our place. IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW that our building is not reachable by car and that is necessary to walk a flight of stairs before getting to the place. We ask to the people that can see this point as a problem to take it in consideration and contact us if they want more information about this aspect. More
