Other things to note: At home we have a cute pet, a 3-year-old deer head Chihuahua. She is very calm and not aggressive at all, she only barks when someone opens the front door, we think it is her way of saying hello, after that she is super cute.

My Peruvian experience!
I travel the world and I love homestays. I was in Arecuipa for 10 weeks learning Spanish and found this perfect little cozy house. The family welcomed me with open arms and much more. The family consisted of mom, dad and 2 sons ( 24 years old and 11 years old). They provided me with a perfect little room and my own bathroom. It was near town so I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. They were so excited to have me and did everything they could to make me feel like one of the family members. If I wanted to join in the festivities I could or if i wanted to relax alone I easily could as well. They speak both Spanish and English but mostly tried to speak Spanish just so I could learn. I felt at home when I was there and never felt lonely. I highly, highly recommend stating with this prefect homestay family.

Best Place to be in Arequipa :)
I have been traveling Peru for 4 times now and have never been to a better place than homestay Diaz Cuba!
I booked a clean place to sleep in - and met a warm welcoming family which helped me with everything I needed!
Homestay Diaz Cuba has one double room and one single room which share a super modern bathroom which is very clean all the time!
At the same level there is a terrace on the roof of the house from which you have the best view on the 3 volcanic mountains around the city!
The family prepares a tasty Peruvian breakfast every morning.
If you need help with anything they will help you. The best event was souvenir shopping with Paola who knows who has the best prices!
Best place to be in Peru!

Best Experience in Arequipa
I stayed at Casa Diaz Cuba during PeruMin Conference and Trade Show, I enjoyed staying with the Diaz Cuba family. I couldn't have found a better place to stay during this busy time in AQP. Paola and Tomas were very friendly, helpful, caring and accomodating.
It was like arriving at my own family home.
Thank you Paola and Tom, for all your attentions, and for the excellent breakfast every morning!
I would definitely come back, and recommend to my family to stay with you when they visit AQP.

A Gem
Staying at the Cubas was the best decision I made on my journey in Peru. They treated me like family—Paula's cooking is wonderful (ask for the aji de gajina). The room was clean and quiet. The location was local but very safe for tourists. It was a short walk to the city center and not far from a strip of shops and restaurants. The helped me practice Spanish and always fostered a very warm environment with no pressure for nights when I just wanted to be alone in my room.

frosting on the cake!
From the moment I reserved Casa Cuba-Diaz, until we left, we were attended with great friendliness and warmth. They responded quickly with any special requests. The entire family treated us like we were part of their family. They also gave us "space" if we needed it, to rest, recuperate from a busy trip, etc. Paola took us out to finish up last minute errands before we left, something that would have been time-consuming to do on our own. They all speak excellent English. We stayed in the upper level of the house, which has a patio and provides an additional view of the city. They went above and beyond the normal home stay experience, and when(not if) I return to Arequipa, they will be my first choice for lodging. Thank you!

We are located in Cayma, our home is in a comfortable, safe, traditional neighborhood with quiet streets and access to beautiful scenery. You will be able to reach the heart of the White City quickly, where you can find restaurants, picanterias, supermarkets, stores, bakeries, bars, cafes, movie theaters, ATMs, pharmacies and our historical city center. Cayma also boasts plenty of Arequipa's best picanterias, restaurants, shopping, movie theaters and bakeries.
