About the neighborhood
Lamu is a declared World Heritage site by UNESCO. Exploring the town on foot is the best way to soak up the living, breathing history of Lamu. (There are no cars on the island anyway!) Visit the Lamu Museum and Lamu House Museum, the Fort...The local market offers a large variety of fresh vegetables, fruits and seafood. Use the provided blender to fix your own delicious juices such as mango, papaya, pineapple, banana...or mix it all together! For those who do not enjoy cooking: Along the seafront you will find various restaurants for dining out.
Getting around
As there are no cars..... you walk, ride a donky or take a boat. Don`t miss a dhow trip!
