Interaction with guests:Â We live in the house, in our separate apartment. We are there to greet you and introduce you to your holiday home. We leave you to enjoy your holiday in peace, though we are always available. We enjoy meeting our guests, so please feel that you can approach us if you need some local information or if a problem arises. We are both English, but Elaine speaks German and French.
Spent a very relaxing week in Ribno which is a 30 minute easy walk to Lake Bled. Very peaceful village with 2 bars & small shop. Beautiful views from both balconys. Weather was amazing 29°, lovely walks from the door. Apartment very comfortable and clean . Would definitely return .

Ideal apartment for Lake Bled based holiday
This was our third trip to the Lake Bled area. The delightful Balcony Apartment is in a stunning location in the village of Ribno, a couple of kilometres south of Bled. The apartment had everything we expected, plus lovely views from all windows. John and Elaine were very friendly and helpful, with lots of useful advice. We stayed for six nights, but wished we had come for much longer; this is an ideal base for walking, cycling and touring the local area. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely apartment in absolutely beautiful surroundings
We had a really fabulous week of our family holiday in the Balcony Apartment.
The apartment is comfortable, clean and well-equipped, and the views from the two balconies are incredible.
The location is just about perfect - an easy five-minute drive (or 30-minute walk) to Bled with its gorgeous lake, but far enough away to get a sense of peace and tranquillity. There are supermarkets within easy reach, and there's a nice drive into the mountains if Bled starts to feel a bit too hot.
We swam in Lake Bled or Lake Bohinj every day we were there, and it was the best swimming experience we've ever had. The water is clear and clean and a pleasant temperature - and with no irritants like salt or chlorine in it to spoil the sensation. Swimming in this water with the mountains and forests as a backdrop was absolutely wonderful!
John and Elaine were really friendly and helpful, and full of local information and travel advice.
It was a wrench to leave and we wish we'd stayed our second week here as well. We'd love to stay again one day.

Lovely
We had a nice stay in the Balcony appartment.
Close to Bled, but far enough from the tourism.
The river nearby was great. We found a nice place in the shadow with sand and the river was warm enough to swim.
The house had everything we needed.
The bells of the church are klinging every quater. It woul'nd be a laster if the bell was clear in sound and was a less loud......
The only thing that was a supprise is that we had to pay for the washing machine.

Well-equipped apartment in a beautiful setting
Great location - 5 minute drive/30 minute walk from Bled; beautiful views from the balconies. Peaceful location and very well-equipped and comfortable apartment. We would (and probably will) return. Could be rented with the other two apartments in the house for larger groups.

Really lovely location!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Balcony Apartment very much. The view is outstanding and the location is wonderful. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfortable. We appreciated the english movie selection in the evenings.
We loved Slovenia, but especially our time in the Bled area. Relaxed, yet plenty to do. If you are in Bled, be sure you visit Vintgar Gorge!

Great apartment
We stayed here for five nights in May. The apartment was large, clean and very well furnished, and John and Elaine were downstairs if you needed any help. Being out of Bled itself was good. The local walks were excellent, but walking into Bled and then right round the lake was one of the highlights of our eight-week holiday.

Perfect apartment in a perfect setting
We had a fantastic experience staying in the Balcony Apartment. The reservation process and arrival was seamless. The apartment itself was exactly as advertised and was immaculately clean when we arrived. We also appreciated the option of purchasing a "Welcome Pack" of groceries.
The location was perfect for us. We were close to Bled and the surrounding area, within an easy drive to Ljubliana, but away from the touristy area. The town of Ribno is very peaceful, but there is a convenient little market and a good restaurant in the small town. The view from the balconies is great. There are several nice walks just outside of the apartment.
We stayed with our one year old daughter and had no problems. We were able to use a baby cot and chair during our stay. The owners also allowed us to play in the garden area.
The owners were very pleasant and helpful throughout our entire stay. We would have no problem recommending the Balcony Apartment, and if we find ourselves back in the area, we would definitely stay there again.

Lake Bled is surrounded by mountains. It has an island you can visit by pletna to explore its seventeenth century church. A medieval castle sits on a rock high above the lake. Alongside the lake, Bled has a large choice of bars, restaurants, coffee bars (serving delicious cakes) and many boutiques and gift shops in addition to supermarkets and other food shops.Situated near to the motorway system, Bled is within easy reach of all areas of Slovenia and in particular the capital city Ljubljana, the Triglav National Park and the Julian Alps.Our apartments and house near Lake Bled are well placed for all tourist and activity centres in Slovenia.Lake Bled is a very popular and romantic venue for weddings and honeymoons.Ribno is 1.8km from Bled.
Getting around
The A2 Highway at Lesce leads to Ljubljana (about 40 minutes) and to the East and South of Slovenia.
Go north on the A2 Highway, through the Karawanken tunnel into Austria, or turn off towards Kranjska Gora then Italy.
To use the Highway you must purchase and display a Vignette (toll sticker), available at petrol stations.
If you turn left through Bled and past the lake, it is about 30 minutes drive to the Bohinj National Park and Lake Bohinj.
A Tourist Shuttle Bus operates between our village and Bled. From Bled, there is an excellent bus service to everywhere in Slovenia.Lesce-Bled is the best railway station to use for journeys to Ljubljana or into Austria and Germany. Use Bled station to go to Bohinj.

We are ideally placed about 30 minutes from Ljubljana airport. For European travellers there are excellent motorway connections all the way to Slovenia. For the more adventurous who like to see sights on the way, you can drive down from Calais easily in 2 days. The drive from Munich, then across the Alps from Saltzburg is spectacular.Car hire is available from Ljubljana airport or from Bled. It is cheaper to book in advance.
