Adeguato.

Perfect location
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Prague and the apartment was in a perfect location, and more than met our needs. David was very helpful and arranged our airport transfers and his wife met us at the apartment. All in all a great hassle free weekend and we will certainly be back.

Great location
The apartment is in a brilliant location just off Wenceslas Square and within easy walking distance of the Old Town, tram stop and underground station. There are loads of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops very close. The apartment is simply decorated and is fairly basic but has everything you could need for a short stay, with two really good sized bedrooms and a sofa bed, a great shower and also cooker/microwave & washing machine. The WiFi is excellent. David, the English caretaker was very helpful and explained all about the excellent public transport system ( how to get and use tickets etc) and gave us lots of good advice about places to visit. A really excellent base for a short stay.

Disappointing.
David was helpful, informative and accommodating through the booking process. Apartment in perfect location. Everything is easily walkable. Brilliant water pressure in shower. Brilliant washing machine.Wifi excellent. However the listing said recently refurbished. Sadly this wasn’t the case and feel the ad should be updated to reflect this. (Prob the original listing from 2007?). Walls and doors were marked, windows extremely shabby and windowsills extremely dusty. Many cobwebs, stained sofas, mattresses and bedding, stained and dirty curtains and netcurtains. Apt had a feel of having been refurbished years ago but needs a good update, clean and decoration. Cheap price for rental but be aware standard is bottom bargain basement! Arrived and lift out of order and scaffolding in stairs which we hadn’t been told about. Noisy building work during the day and paint and chemical smells. Having made contact a couple of weeks before our trip, it would have been courteous to advise of these issues before we travelled but nothing was mentioned and the work had been going on for months. Unable to use grill and oven as the knobs had ‘been stolen’. Bedside lamp dirty and broken. Shower and screen full of mould and dirt. Everything felt unclean, uncared for and not as the listing described or portrayed. Weather was 34-35 degrees and there is no air con or fan. The only way to make apt bearable in heat was opening every window and door and trying to find any slight breeze there was but even like this the apt was unbearably hot. Courtyard was full of 100s of dead and dying wasps and we had wasps in apt every night, along with hoardes of gnats/mosquitos which resulted in one member of our group being badly bitten. Shelf in fridge was broken and a pot of cream dated 21.7.18 was left in fridge on our arrival on 29.7.18.Sofas are impossible to sit on comfortably and should probably been skipped years ago. Bar stool are ripped and split. Slats on one of the beds not long enough and so kept falling through. David arranged good price for transfers from airport. Lady who met us was lovely. Chap who picked us up stank of alcohol and we were scared out of our lives as his driving was so dangerous. I was scared that we weren’t going to make it in one piece to the airport and was glad we had travel insurance as I was convinced we were going to have an accident. He was on his mobile while driving and not concentrating at all. I’ve done taxi transfers in many countries but have never been so scared in my life. In summary: great location if you want bottom bargain basement and don’t care about cleanliness or things being broken. The apartment is tired, old fashioned and could do with a thorough clean and being decorated. Sad to have to give an honest review with so many negatives as David is a lovely chap and helpful and pleasant during booking. The apt has sooo much potential but needs updating, cleaning and decorating and the listing needs updating to reflect its present condition until this is done. Visitors also need honesty and communication about things that are broken, don’t work and building works BEFORE arrival.

ello Rebecca ! Quite naturally, I find this review disappointing, but thank you, nonetheless, fot taking the time to make it. It is obvious, from the previously favourable comments, that your experience is very much an exception – and I am, of course, sorry for that. You raise a number of points – some of these are within my control and I will, of course take action on these. I am no fan of excuses, but, for what it's worth, here is my response. Firstly, the apartment was totally decorated at the end of 2015. The photos on the site were taken by a Trip Advisor representative soon after that. The décor is “renewed”, where appropriate at the end of every season. Because of its Central location and fair price, the apartment is let almost continuously all Summer long. It has a very hard life. Sadly, most guests do not treat the place as carefully as they would their own home, that goes with the territory - and keeping it presentable is a continuous battle. Small breakages (and indeed thefts) occur and, if they are not mentioned to me (and most people say nothing) and the cleaner does not spot it, I cannot do anything. A few points: What is in the shower is not “mould” but lime-scale. Prague water is very hard and this accumulates continuously. The whole shower enclosure has to be disassembled, scrubbed and reassembled a couple of times a season,. Sadly, the turnaround time between guests means it is impossible to do as often as I would like. The sofas, which are both bed-settees, are quality IKEA items and only 3 months old. The previous pair were both broken by some (sadly very rowdy) guests in April. No-one has previously remarked upon either their comfort factor or a stain. I mentioned the missing cooker knobs to you upon arrival. The old ones were reported missing only very recently and locating replacements for an oldish cooker was difficult. Some have been found and ordered. I am, at time of writing, still awaiting their arrival. The under mattress slats do break occasionally. When this is reported, I replace them. This will happen again, now. Some of the points you made, whilst I accept them and seek to mitigate against them wherever possible, are simply out of my direct control. The windows of the flat are the property of the House and not of me. A replacement program IS underway, I am awaiting my turn, but it is centrally managed and I am not able to do anything myself. The curtains and nets are, as is everything else, totally laundered at the end of each season. I have delayed replacement to coincide with the new windows. The lift motor failed and the House opted for complete replacement. The work on the new lift is now over 9 weeks beyond its projected finish date. Every week the company promises completion – but it doesn't happen. It has appeared “ready” for over a month now and the House is all over the contractors – but the final touches just don't happen. Sadly, I can only wait and can proffer no firm schedule to my guests as I cannot get one myself. When we last spoke before your arrival, I had just received a reassurance that it was finally ready. The dust is a City wide problem. You must have noticed, during your visit, the almost unfeasible amount (apparently the most ever) of roadworks and construction going on absolutely everywhere. The air across the whole City is just full of dust and has been all Summer. The work on the lift can only make this worse. With no rain for over 6 weeks, this dusty air, coupled with the unusually hot, dry weather (which means the windows are open a lot) can have only one real end result – and encroaching dust does, naturally, exacerbate any tiny cobweb. I have asked the cleaning service to make extra efforts. Sadly wasps and mosquitos are a natural occurrence. The same heat/window problem as above presumably made it worse. Despite months of hot weather, this has not been mentioned before. What actually concerns me most is the Shuttle Driver. Whilst it is actually unlikely that he had been drinking (there is zero-tolerance and a life ban) – a lot of people DO drink alcohol free beers for refreshment – scary driving and using the 'phone is unforgivable. I contacted the company, which I have used many hundreds of times before without incident and reported this. David Perry

Comfortable Stay
David's apartment is located in a great area of Prague. We stayed in the apartment for a month and it was very comfortable and relaxing. David was super helpful throughout our stay. Anytime we had a question regarding the apartment he always responded in a timely manner. If you are looking for a place to stay short or long-term, I definitely recommend this place!

About the neighborhood
One of the most beautiful cities located in the heart of Central Europe. Prague has the dubious good fortune of having been occupied by the Communists for 40 years after WWII and was untouched by the war and by the Communists, making it the 'City that Time Forgot'. There are so many places of interest and beauty that no other city can rival it. A very popular destination for tourists, Prague caters to all the needs of an enjoyable city break Known for its culture, nightlife and spectacular surroundings. Whether enjoying a lively night out till the early hours, exploring the many breathtaking sites or attending one of the many classical or rock concerts on offer, Prague has something to suite every taste. The two opera houses and the National Theatre are worth visiting merely for their sumptuous interiors as well as providing world class opera and ballet. The Rudolfinum Concert Hall hosts performances by many world class musicians and orchestras. Prague has more theatres than any city in the world, in spite of its relatively small size.Several black light theatres and marionette theatres feature a style of performance unique to Prague. Specialist children's theatres and experimental theatres and international cinemas, often showing films in English, abound. Czech beer is very good and, away from the tourist traps, very cheap and is sold in cellars, gardens and pubs of every kind. Most styles of international cuisine can be found in Prague restaurants, and dining out is excellent value, particularly outside the very centre The nightlife can best be described as 'Bohemian' appropriate as Prague is the capital of Bohemia. Prague abounds with restaurants and shops that cater to every taste and budget. Pubs, discos, jazz, opera and dance will fill your need for nightlife and culture. A fast and efficient public transportation system has everything of interest within minutes of this flat. Right in the centre of the city, in Krakovska street, the apartment is near Wenceslas Square the National Museum, the Old Town Square and Charles Bridge (only 12 minutes walk), Mala Strana, the River Vltava, the National Theatre and the Theatre of the States and all interesting sites and monuments. it is set back from the road and thus quiet, even though in a vibrant area amongst cafes, restaurants, shops, banks, bars. Tram and metro links are a 2 minute walk away. Perfectly placed to explore all the sights.
