The Old Church, Halistra is an historic 'Telford Church'. Thomas Telford, Scottish civil engineer and architect who also designed the Caledonian Canal, was commissioned to design a simple to construct church that could be easily built in areas of the Highlands and Islands that were without a parish church. Built in the 1820's, The Old Church has been split into two cottages and one of these is available to rent as a unique holiday home.

The large entrance hall is perfect for leaving muddy boots and waterproof jackets. It gives access to both floors and there is a downstairs W/C leading off from it. Stayed for seven days, Stephen and Kim were great hosts with nothing being to much trouble.lovely accommodation, warm and cosy in a beautiful setting.
