We are happy to meet your needs and will be available to provide guidance on what to see and where to go as required. We live on the same property so will welcome you and ensure you are settled in. We provide many leaflets, maps, hiking guides, restaurant guides and recommendations in the cottage. We also have a list of things that local Capetonians like to do in the city, which many tourists would not experience. We also have some good ideas on what to do with children in the city, romantic spots for a drink and can lend you a picnic set for your days out. It really is up to you ...

About the neighborhood
Pinelands is a 'Garden City' established in the early 1940's on Uitvlugt Forest land, based on the progressive principles of Ebenezer Howard, who's work lead to the creation of similar Garden Cities in the UK. It's characterised by large plots, gracious houses - many of which have thatched roofs; wide roads and pavements and many parks and play areas. There are running routes, walking & sports areas. Ailsworth house is next to two large sportsfields which are used by the cricket, hockey & running clubs and local community.
It is a tranquil, pretty base from which to enjoy your time in Cape Town.
Getting around
Taxis & Ubers are an inexpensive option for getting round the city from Pinelands. An Uber fare into the City costs R100 - R120 depending on the time of day (early hours of the morning is more than this).

There is no public transport covering the city of Cape Town. A modern city-wide bus service is in the process of being built.

About 50% of our guests hire cars and the rest use Taxi's and Ubers, with many doing a combination of the two. Cape Town is an easy city to drive in and guests from Europe and the USA get to grips with rental cars very fast.

Andrew has a passenger carrying licence and we are able to offer airport transfers - please contact us for prices and arrangements.
